Mixed trading in Trinidad stocks

Rising stocks just got squeezed out by decliners when trading ended on The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday, leaving the market with mixed results after investors traded 26 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday.
The market closed with fifteen securities changing hands, with the prices of four stocks advancing, five stocks declining and six remaining unchanged. Stocks trading resulted in 100,010 shares valued at $1,306,330 changing hands compared to 135,995 shares for $1,331,885 on Wednesday from 11 securities.
The average trade on Thursday amounted to 7,144 units at $93,309 versus an average of 12,363 stock units for $121,080 for each security. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 3.38 points to 1,325.95, The All T&T Index added 0.90 points to 1,800.98, while the Cross Listed Index shed 1.05 points to close at 114.93.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than its last selling price and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising│ Ansa McAL climbed $1 to $53 in trading 100 shares, Clico Investments ended at $25.50, with a gain of 1 cent transferring 26,287 shares, Massy Holdings rose 50 cents to $59 after exchanging 2,452 stock units and National Enterprises finished 5 cents higher at $4.05, in moving 500 shares.
Stocks declining│ First Citizens Bank shed 55 cents, exchanging 2,414 stock shares to settle at $46.10, NCB Financial Group lost 19 cents, ending at $7.81 with 22,305 stocks crossing the market, Republic Financial Holdings closed 40 cents lower at $142.60, with 372 units changing hands. Trinidad Cement lost 1 cent to finish at $2, in trading 3,400 stock units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL shed 30 cents, transferring 1,826 units to close at $16.10.
Stocks trading firm│ Agostini’s had a transfer of 75 units at $24.70, Angostura Holdings closed at $17 after trading 1,651 units, First Caribbean International exchanged 275 units at $7.05. Guardian Holdings held firm at $19.50, with 500 stock units changing hands, Guardian Media traded 937 shares at $5 and JMMB Group remained at $1.84 after 36,916 shares crossing the market.

Volume doubles on TTSE- Tuesday

Trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday resulted in a 138 percent jump in volume, with 90 percent more value above Monday’s levels but the overall market dipped moderately.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with the prices of three stocks advancing, seven declining and six companies’ shares closing unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 85,316 shares valued at $1,386,510 compared to 35,937 shares for $727,964 on Monday from 20 securities.
The average trade on Tuesday amounted to 5,332 units at $86,657 versus an average of 1,797 stock units for $36,398 for each security. For the month to date, the average trade per security ends at 13,738 for $127,223, down from 15,532 units at $154,364 on Monday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index fell by 1.77 points to 1,328.24. The All T&T Index dropped 4.61 points to 1,797.91, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.15 points to close at 115.98.

Stocks declining│ Ansa Merchant Bank shed 44 cents to close at $36.31, after exchanging 1,168 units, Ansa McAL lost 1 cent trading 306 units to end at $52, Clico Investments fell by $1.01 to $25.99, with 5,896 units changing hands. First Caribbean International Bank traded 12,616 stock units to close at $7.05, Massy Holdings ended 50 cents lower at $58.50, in transferring 373 units, National Enterprises lost 2 cents to settle at $4, with an exchange of 9,626 stock units. Prestige Holdings finished at $8, after losing 20 cents trading 1,352 units and West Indian Tobacco lost 1 cent exchanging 1,638 units to close at $36.99.
Stocks trading firm│ First Citizens Bank remained at $46.25 after trading 2,738 units, Guardian Holdings held firm at $19.50, with 9,010 stock units changing hands, JMMB Group was unchanged at $1.84, with 11,631 stock units crossing the market. NCB Financial Group held firm at $8, trading 107 units and Scotiabank transferred 4,648 stock units at $54.69.

TTSE volume plunged on Monday

The number of securities trading on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Monday jumped to 20, but the volume of shares trading dropped to just six percent of Friday’s and led to the market rising.

The market closed with twenty securities trading with five stocks advancing, four declining and eleven remaining unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to a mere 35,937 shares, valued at $727,964 compared to 592,382 shares for $2,592,060 on Friday from 17 securities.
The average trade on Monday amounted to 1,797 units at $36,398 versus an average of 34,834 stock units for $152,328 for each security. For the month to date, the average trade is 15,532 units at $154,364 versus an average of 20,526 shares at $197,262. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index climbed 4.62 points to 1,330.01, The All T&T Index advanced by 4.02 points to 1,802.52, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.71 points to close at 115.83.

Rising stocks edged out decliners on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday after investors traded 68 percent more shares, with 32 percent greater value than on Wednesday.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with four stocks advancing, three declining and six unchanged. Trading resulted in 171,377 shares valued at $1,635,896 passing through the market compared to 101,727 shares for $1,242,094 on Wednesday from 14 securities.
The day’s average trade ended at 13,183 units at $125,838 versus an average of 7,266 stock units for $88,721 for each security on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade amounted to 14,126 units at $217,364 compared to 14,616 shares for $264,957 on Wednesday. August closed with an average of 15,631 shares for $367,803.
The T&T Composite Index shed 0.83 points to close at 1,326.39, the All T&T Index gained 0.61 points to 1,802.75, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.31 points to close at 114.81.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Tuesday, with prices mostly slipping after investors exchanged 60 percent more shares than on Monday, with more than five times the value.

The average trade on Monday amounted to 24,403 units at $1,294,018 versus an average of 18,203 stock units for $281,792 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 14,909 shares at $410,492, versus an average of 14,103 units at $335,475. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Monday, with the market rising after 20 percent fewer shares were exchanged than on Friday, resulting in advancing stocks just edging out rising ones.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading with four stocks advancing, five declining and six stocks ended unchanged. The market activity ended with 273,047 shares valued at $4,226,887 changing hands, compared to 341,281 shares for $5,621,034 on Friday from 17 securities.
The average trade on Monday ended at 18,203 units for $281,792 versus an average of 20,075 stock units for $330,649 for each security. The average traded for the month to date is 14,103 shares at $335,475, versus an average of 13,790 units at $339,563. July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended trading on Thursday, with the market closing mixed for the second consecutive day after investors traded 23 percent more shares than on Wednesday resulting in falling stocks just edging out those rising.
The market closed with sixteen securities trading with three advancing, four declining and nine unchanged. The market ended, with 96,708 shares valued at $6,310,824 passing through the exchange compared to 78,331 shares for $1,467,537 on Wednesday from 13 securities.
The average trade on Thursday amounted to 6,044 units at $394,426 versus an average of 6,025 stock units for $112,887 for each security. For the month to date trading resulted in an average of 13,197 shares at $340,405 each and the average was 13,895 shares for $335,134 on the prior day July closed with an average of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.13 points to 1,322.05, The All T&T Index added 1.03 points to close at 1,784.18, while the Cross Listed Index shed 0.18 points to end at 116.19.

Some of Wednesday’s TTSE gains eroded

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange gave back some of Wednesday’s gains when trading closed on Thursday, with the market rising after investors traded 34 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday, even as more stocks rose than declined.
The market closed with seventeen securities trading with three stocks advancing, two declining and twelve remained unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 131,310 shares valued at $2,321,854 compared to 198,535 shares valued at $3,608,553 on Wednesday from fifteen securities.
The average trade on Wednesday amounted to 7,724 shares at $136,580 versus an average of 13,236 stocks at $240,570 for each security. For the month to date, trading resulted in an average of 13,691 units for $193,393, compared to an average of 16,165 units for $216,950 up to Tuesday, which is above the average for July of 12,712 shares for $166,390.
At the close of the market, the T&T Composite Index fell 2.87 points to end at 1,322.10. The All T&T Index lost 6.75 points to 1,785.33, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.15 points to 116.06.

Rising TTSE stocks beat decliners

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended with 16 securities changing hands with the closed with an exchange of a mere 37,299 shares, accounting for $945,936 compared to 157,549 units at $2,027,875 on Friday.
At the close of the market the prices of five stocks recorded gains, three declined and eight remaining unchanged leaving the Composite Index with a rise of 2.48 points to end at 1,310.66, the All T&T Index losing 0.28 points to finish at 1,769.54 and the Cross Listed Index advancing by 0.72 points to close at 115.10.
An average of 2,331 units traded at $59,121, for the day, in contrast to an average of 10,503 at $135,192 on Friday. An average of 12,565 units traded at $147,718 for the month to date versus 13,174 units at $156,366 up to Friday.

FirstCaribbean International Bank fell 1 cent to end at a 52 weeks’ low of $7.09 after 200 units crossed the exchange and Calypso Macro Investment Fund fell 50 cents to close at $14 in trading 1,607 units.
Stocks trading firm| Agostini’s closed at $24.50 with an exchange of 100 units, Ansa Mcal closed at $50 after exchanging 510 units, Clico Investment Fund ended at $25.01, trading 4,954 units. National Enterprises settled at $4.50, with 100 units changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings closed at $139.47 with the trading of 1,985 shares. Scotiabank ended at $54.75 after 11 stock units crossed the market, Trinidad & Tobago NGL remained at $17, after 2,771 shares crossed the exchange and West Indian Tobacco closed at $35 after exchanging 2,100 units.

Down day for Trinidad stocks

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday resulted in the market indices declining for the third consecutive day after15 securities changed hands, down from 17 on Thursday leading to a fall in the value and volume of shares passing through the market.
Trading closed, with the price of one stock rising, five declining and nine remaining unchanged. At the close of the market, the Composite Index dropped 3.66 points to end at 1308.18, the All T&T Index fell 1.96 points to 1,769.82 and the Cross Listed Index slipped 0.73 points to 114.38.
The market closed with an exchange of 157,549 shares, accounting for $2,027,571 compared to 215,160 units at $3,195,341 on Thursday.
An average of 10,503 units traded for the day at $135,171, for each security, in contrast to an average of 12,656 at $187,961 on Thursday. An average of 13,174 units valued at $156,366 traded for the month to date, in comparison to 13,332 units at $157,616.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading for the Trinidad and Tobago market shows three stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and three with lower offers.
Stocks rising| First Citizens Bank increased in price by 15 cents to close at $46.25 trading 155 stock units.
Stocks falling| Angostura Holdings carved out a loss 5 cents to close at $15.25 with investors swapping 5,024 stock units, Ansa Merchant Bank dropped 70 cents to settle at $36.30 in exchanging 4,089 units, Guardian Holdings fell 50 cents to end at $19.20, in exchanging 33,543 shares. JMMB Group slipped by 5 cents in ending at $1.90, with investors switching ownership of 18,500 stock units and NCB Financial Group lost 10 cents to settle at $7.70, with 67,871 shares changing hands.
Firm Traders| Clico Investment Fund ended at $25.01, with 5,046 units crossing the exchange. Massy Holdings closed at $58, with 1,578 stock units changing hands, National Enterprises settled at $4.50 after trading 973 shares, Prestige Holdings settled at $8.25 with 250 units changing hands, Republic Financial Holdings closed at $139.47 in exchanging 69 stock units, Scotiabank ended at $54.75, with 2,675 shares passing through the market. Trinidad & Tobago NGL remained at $17 while trading 11,062 units, Trinidad Cement settled at $2.10 in finishing with 6,710 units, clearing the market and West Indian Tobacco closed at $35 after just four units passing through the market.
