First Citizens hits TTSE indices hard – Friday

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange indices closed sharply lower on Friday with First Citizens trading down to $47.50 before bouncing by the close.  In the end, the T&T Composite Index lost 8.85 points to close at 1,503.10. The All T&T Index dived 20.08 points to 1,911.03, while the Cross Listed Index closed with a gain of 0.35 points to end at 148.37.
The market ended with 14 securities changing hands versus 16 on Thursday and leading to the prices of four gaining, two declining and the prices of eight remaining unchanged.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 159,258 shares for $3,092,226, compared to 187,825 shares for $4,035,174 on Thursday.

Gains| CinemaOne rose 75 cents to close at $6.50 with an exchange of 800 shares, First Citizens Bank exchanged 6,005 stock units and gained $1.01 to settle at $53 after trading at a low for the day of $47.50. Guardian Holdings had 2,259 units crossing the exchange with a rise of 20 cents to close at $22 and NCB Financial added 5 cents and closed with 1,583 shares trading at $11.30,
Losses| Clico Investment lost 2 cents to close at $28.46, with 72,954 units crossing the exchange and Trinidad & Tobago NGL slipped 1 cent transferring 3,980 shares to close at $20.89.
Firm Trades| Agostini’s traded 496 shares at $25.45, First Caribbean International Bank exchanged 7,789 units at $7.89, JMMB Group lost one cent and ended at $2.70, with investors trading 7,826 stock units. Massy Holdings exchanged 599 shares to close at $62.05, National Flour exchanged 49,743 shares and closed at $1.49, Republic Holdings closed trading with 134 shares at $143, Scotiabank ended trading with 5,163 units to close at $62 and West Indian Tobacco closed at $38.50 in transferring 727 stock units.

Falling TTSE stocks beat advancers – Thursday

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed higher at the end of trading on Thursday with the 16 securities changing hands versus 17 on Wednesday, with much lower volume and value than on Wednesday.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 187,825 shares for $4,035,174, compared to 593,235 shares for $10,578,281 on Wednesday.
The market ended with four gaining, seven declining and the prices of five remaining unchanged.  The T&T Composite Index rose 0.72 points to close at 1,511.95. The All T&T Index advanced 3.93 points to 1,931.11, while the Cross Listed Index closed with a loss of 0.35 points to end at 148.02.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of five stocks higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.
Gains| Ansa McAl jumped $1.70 and settled at $57, with 137 units changing hands, Clico Investment rose 1 cent to close at $28.48, with 17,795 units crossing the exchange. One Caribbean Media rose 5 cents to close at $8 with a transfer of 9,745 shares and Scotiabank ended trading with 7,383 units with a rise of 51 cents to close at $62.
Losses| Angostura Holding traded 5,940 shares and lost 4 cents to close at $16.30, First Citizens Bank exchanged 16,718 shares and fell $1.01 to settle at $51.99, Guardian Holdings had 5,596 units crossing the exchange with a fall of 21 cents to close at $21.80. Massy Holdings exchanged 6,291 shares and lost 57 cents to close at $62.05, NCB Financial shed 5 cents and closed with 4,278 units crossing the exchange at $11.25, Trinidad & Tobago NGL lost 10 cents in transferred 31,746 shares to close at $20.90 and West Indian Tobacco fell 10 cents to close at $38.50 while trading 5,403 stock units.
Firm Trades| Endeavour Holdings traded 200 shares at $12.65, First Caribbean International Bank exchanged 12,200 units at $7.89, JMMB Group lost one cent and ended at $2.70, with investors trading 48,123 stock units. National Enterprises closed trading with 187 shares at $5.50 and Unilever Caribbean exchanged 8,314 shares and closed at $$21.50.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed higher at the end of trading on Wednesday with the 17 securities changing hands up from 16 on Tuesday, with four securities closing at 52 weeks’ high and one at a 52 weeks’ low.
The market closed with a much higher volume and value than on Tuesday and ended with six gaining, two declining and the prices of nine remaining unchanged.

Losses| Clico Investment lost 3 cents to close at $28.47, with 258,070 units crossing the exchange and JMMB Group lost one cent and ended at $2.70, with investors trading 34,477 stock units.
Firm Trades| Agostini’s traded 75 shares to close at $25.45, First Caribbean International Bank exchanged 165 units at $7.89, Grace Kennedy had 122 shares changing hands, to close at $3.95, National Enterprises closed trading with 100 shares at $5.50. The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed higher at the end of trading on Monday with the number of securities changing hands being similar to Friday, at 15.  
Trading closed, with four gaining, one declining and the prices of ten remained unchanged, but Unilever Caribbean closed under pressure, the offer at $21 compared to the last traded price of $21.50 and the bid at $19 to buy just 100 shares.
The T&T Composite Index rose 5.64 points to close at 1,510.89. The All T&T Index climbed 8.77 points to 1,927.77, while the Cross Listed Index added 0.35 points to close at 148.19.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 219,223 valued $5,094,367 compared to 360,033 shares valued at $5,688,242 on Friday.

First Citizens hits record high

First Citizens Bank shot to an all-time high of $51.50 on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday and is now selling at a comfortable PE of 15.6 times 2020 earnings and heading to a target of 20.
First Citzens’ stock closed with the bid at $51.50 to buy 3,430 shares but ended trading with no offers on the board at the close.
Elsewhere, trading closed similar to Thursday, with 15 securities changing hands, with six gaining, two declining and the prices of seven remaining unchanged.
The T&T Composite Index rose 7.29 points to close at 1,505.21. The All T&T Index jumped just 16.48 points to 1,919.00, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.28 points to close at 147.84.

Republic Holdings traded at $142 but closed with the bid at $145 and offered at $150 the PE ratio is just 12 based on 2020 forecasted earnings with 20 being the target. Both stocks appear to have low supply around current prices.
