More TTSE stocks rise on Monday

Stocks on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange put in a good showing with the market indices rising after more stocks gained than fell on Monday.

At the close of trading, the T&T Composite Index gained 3.62 points to close at 1,274.57. The All T&T Index advanced 6.58 points to 1,711.54, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.08 points to 113.24.
The market closed with seventeen securities trading with six stocks rising, four declining and seven finishing with unchanged prices. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 478,696 shares valued at $3,954,213 compared to 395,917 shares for $11,097,128 on Friday.

Gainers│ Angostura Holdings rose 4 cents trading 10,810 stock units and closed $14, Guardian Holdings gained 40 cents to finish at $18.40, with 270 units changing hands, National Flour closed at $1.51, after rising 13 cents and transferring 60,957 shares. Prestige Holdings exchanged 500 units at $8.12, and gains of 6 cents, Republic Financial Holdings picked up 5 cents swapping 400 units to settle at $132.55 and West Indian Tobacco closed 30 cents higher at $31.40 after exchanging 450 units.
Losers│ Clico Investments closed at $25, with a loss of 65 cents after transferring 28,047 stock units, One Caribbean Media lost 3 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.50 swapping 5,965 units. Trinidad and Tobago NGL traded 8,896 stock units at $16, after shedding 49 cents and Unilever Caribbean lost 1 cent to finish at $16.99, with an exchange of 56,231 shares.
Firm Trades│ First Citizens Bank traded 1,621 units at $44, First Caribbean International closed at $7.50 exchanging 39,900 shares, JMMB Group was unchanged at $1.95, with 161,526 shares crossing the market. Massy Holdings swapped 12,459 stock units at $55, NCB Financial ended at $7.50 trading 60,957 shares, Scotiabank transferred 664 units at $54.99 and Trinidad Cement held firm at $1.90, with 50,000 stock units changing hands.

Price movements on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday resulted in slippage in the market index with an equal number of rising and falling stocks after four suffered a large price declines.  
The T&T Composite Index lost 0.06 points to 1,270.95. The All T&T Index declined by 2.63 points to 1,704.96, while the Cross Listed Index rose 0.35 points to 113.16.
The market closed with fifteen securities trading with six stocks rising, six declining and three closing with prices unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 395,917 shares valued at $11,097,128 compared to 501,256 shares for $18,906,240 on Thursday.

NCB Financial traded 30,000 shares at $7.50, after rising 10 cents, Scotiabank picked up 1 cent to finish at $54.99, with 53,910 shares crossing the market and Unilever Caribbean transferred 26,717 stock units at $17, after rising 2 cents.
Losers│ Angostura Holdings lost 4 cents transferring 1,500 units to close at $13.96, Clico Investments closed $1.35 lower to finish at $25.65, with 23,420 stock units changing hands, First Citizens Bank fell $4 after trading 5,145 units to end at $44. Massy Holdings settled at $55, with a loss of $1 in switching ownership of 28,173 stock units, One Caribbean Media closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.53, after losing 46 cents while exchanging 2,135 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL lost 1 cent transferring 835 units and closed at $16.49.
Firm Trades│ Guardian Holdings remained at $18 after trading 42,782 shares and Trinidad Cement exchanged 100,000 units at $1.90.

T&T stock market bounces

The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange enjoyed another day with the index bouncing higher, continuing the slow recovery from the sharp fall the start of March as the total level of trading climbed over Wednesday’s levels.

The T&T Composite Index added 1.55 points to 1,271.01. The All T&T Index climbed 6.08 points higher to 1,709.59, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.42 points to 112.81.
The market closed with thirteen securities trading with four rising, five declining and four holding firm, with 501,256 shares valued at $18,906,240 passing through the market, compared to 141,043 shares for $2,272,802 on Wednesday.

Traded led to more shares changing hands on Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday, than on any other day this week, with the market ending with just five stocks recording price changes for the day.
The market had its worse performance for the week with the T&T Composite Index dropping 12.46 points to end at 1,257.97. The All T&T Index fell 3.40 points to 1,675.29, while the Cross Listed Index lost 2.95 points to 113.70.
The market closed with four stocks rising, three declining and six remaining unchanged. The volume of stocks passing through the market amounted to 271,971 shares valued at $5,721,186 compared to a mere 82,106 units for $2,032,185 on Thursday.

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange rose sharply on Wednesday with increased securities, with less volume and value than on Thursday leading the two leading market indices to rise after Republic Holdings and West Indian Tobacco helped to move the indices higher.
