Junior Market falls as trading climbs

Price changes were mostly modest on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Monday, and led rising and declining stocks sharing honours on a day when there was trading in 40 securities compared with 38 on Friday, ended with 17 rising, 17 declining and six closing unchanged with the volume of stocks traded jumping 146 percent and the value 144 percent more than Friday.
Investors exchanged 4,843,898 shares for $11,250,151 compared to 1,971,310 units at $4,610,291 on Friday.
Trading 0n Monday averaged 121,097 shares at $281,254 up from 51,877 units at $121,323 on Friday. Trading for the month to date, averages 120,286 stocks at $290,705 compared with 120,214 stocks at $291,552 on the previous day. August closed with an average of 183,001 units at $460,354.
Image Plus Consultants led trading with 1.08 million shares for 22.3 percent of total volume followed by Regency Petroleum with 791,364 units for 16.3 percent of the total stocks that were traded and ONE on ONE Educational with 756,895 units for 15.6 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index fell 37.52 points to  3,791.92.

Junior Market bounces on Thursday

The advanced, decline ratio was almost even at the close of the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday, but that did not prevent the Market Index from rallying  42.71  points to close out the day at 3,811.57, after opening with more than 90 points in the early morning session and trading ended with the volume of stocks changing hands rising 267 percent and the value 190 percent more than Wednesday, following trading in 42 securities, down from 44 on Wednesday and ending with 16 rising, 15 declining and 11 closing unchanged.
Investors traded 11,110,231 shares for $23,817,408 up from 3,026,858 units at $8,218,631 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 264,529 shares at $567,081 compared with 68,792 units at $186,787 on Wednesday. Trading for the  month to date averages 126,578 stock units at $307,407 compared with 110,748 shares at $277,609, the previous day. Trading in August closed with an average of 183,001 units at $460,354.
EduFocal led trading with 3.49 million shares for 31.5 percent of total volume followed by Jamaican Teas with 1.50 million units for 13.5 percent of the day’s trade and Jetcon Corporation with 1.03 million units for 9.2 percent of the day’s volume.

ISP Finance jumps $10.20 above $44

Thinly traded ISP Finance, surged $10.20 to one year high of $44.20, leading the 12 stocks that rose at the close of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Wednesday,that was not enough to quell the negative pull of 17 other stocks that declined as the volume of stocks traded was moderately higher and the value 24 percent greater than in trading on Tuesday.
The market closed with trading in 44 securities, up from 40 on Tuesday and ended with 15 closing unchanged following those rising, and declining.
Investors traded 3,026,858 shares for $8,218,631 compared with 2,941,650 units at $6,618,990 on Tuesday.

Big fall for Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped sharply on Friday to erase most of the 74 points rally on Thursday with the volume of stocks traded being flat with an 18 percent higher value than Thursday, following trading in only 38 securities down from 42 on Thursday resulting in prices of  12 rising, 18 declining and eight closing unchanged.
Investors traded 6,762,889 shares for $19,614,027 compared with 6,771,997 units at $16,602,569 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 177,971 shares for $516,159 compared with 161,238 units at $395,299 on Thursday versus an average of 183,001 units at $460,354 in August.

Junior Market surged on Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange jumped sharply Wednesday, following a 29 percent jump in the volume of stocks traded but with a 40 percent lower value than Tuesday, after trading took place in 47 securities up from 43 on Tuesday and ended with 17 rising, 18 declining and 12 closing unchanged.
Investors traded 6,996,281 shares for $20,642,380 compared with 5,425,798 units at $34,684,589 on Tuesday.

Stocks made more gains at the close of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, following the slight slippage on Thursday after the near 100 points recovery on Wednesday and ended on Friday,with a 105 percent jump in the volume of stocks traded accompanied by a 61 percent climb in value compared to Thursday, with trading taking place in 44 securities compared with 41 on Thursday and ended with 16 rising, 16 declining and 12 closing unchanged.
Investors traded 8,514,607 shares for $16,106,240 versus 4,143,867 units at $10,013,554 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 193,514 shares at $366,051 compared to 101,070 stocks at $244,233 on Thursday and trading for the month to date averaged 221,835 shares at $511,768 compared to 224,470 stock units at $525,323 on the previous day. July closed with an average of 326,541 units at $843,878.
ONE on ONE Educational led trading with 2.82 million shares for 33.1 percent of total volume, followed by Jetcon Corporation with 1.95 million units for 22.9 percent of the day’s trade and Stationery and Office Supplies with 914,844 units for 10.7 percent of market share.

Big fall for Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange suffered a big fall on Monday, with the market index diving  62.55  points to end at  3,852.92 even as the volume of stocks traded climbed 104 percent valued 64 percent more than in trading on Friday. At the close 43 securities were traded compared with 44 on Friday and ended with 11 rising, 21 declining and 11 closing unchanged.
Investors traded 9,598,734 shares for $18,018,458 up from 4,704,278 units at $11,000,031 on Friday.
Trading averaged 223,226 shares at $419,034 compared with 106,915 units at $250,001 on Friday. Trading for the month to date averaged 221,585 stock units at $498,892 compared with 221,353 shares at $510,225 on the previous day. July closed with an average of 326,541 units at $843,878.

Lasco Manufacturing rose 40 cents to $5.28 in trading 14,242 stocks, Main Event gained 53 cents and ended at $15.93 with shareholders swapping 19,419 units, Medical Disposables dropped 25 cents in closing at $4.60, with 6,230 shares crossing the market.
