JSE took another dive – Tuesday
The JSE Market Index shed 1,962.29 points to end at 151,473.49, the all Jamaica Composite Index dropped 2,192.97 points to end at 168,236.46 and the JSE combined index dived 1,429.27 points to close at 160,542.54.

At the end of the market activities, Berger Paints lost 55 cents and ended with 14,612 shares trading at $3.40, Cable & Wireless closed with a loss of 5 cents at $1.37 with 1,317,035 units changing hands, Caribbean Cement gained $1 to end at $20 with 23,847 shares trading. Carreras lost 49 cents to close at $64.50, while trading 14,840 units, Gleaner lost 10 cents to close at $2.10 with 5,000 shares changing hands, Grace Kennedy closed with 50,000 shares trading with a loss of 1 cent at $83.49, well below the $97 equivalent, it last traded at in Trinidad. Jamaica Broilers traded 3,323,214 units to close at $14.50, Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 90,000 units to close at $22.50, JMMB Group had 72,435 units changing hands but fell 10 cents in closing at $10.30, Kingston Wharves traded 34,654 shares trading with a loss of 5 cents at $11.45. National Commercial Bank with 547,321 shares changing hands, to close at $41, Proven Investments ordinary share traded 530,450 units and fell 2 US cents in closing at 20 US cents, Radio Jamaica ended with 29,880 units changing hands at 40 cents higher to close at $4.35. Sagicor Group lost 90 cents with 94,090 shares changing hands at $22.10, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 17,343 shares to close at $10, Scotia Group had 296,974 shares changing hands to close at $30 after falling by $1, Scotia Investments rose $1.49 to close at $29.49 with 503,451 units trading. Supreme Ventures closed with a gain of 55 cents at $5.15 with 33,900 units changing hands, JMMB 7.5% preference share traded 8 million units but fell 13 cents to close at $1.07 and JMMB 7.5% preference share traded 50,000 shares to close at $2.15.
JSE closes with minor loss – Monday
Main market stocks collectively barely moved forward on Monday, with declining stocks being out-numbered by advancing ones 2 to1 with 10 stocks rising in the main market versus 5 declining. For the overall market, 32 securities changed hands, in all market segments with 14 rising and 5 declining.
The market closed with 3,842,543 units valued at $52,963,264 changing hands in all markets. The junior market accounted for 811,127 units changing hands, valued at $3,604,853.
The JSE Market Index fell 177.07 points to 153,435.78, the all Jamaica Composite Index fell 197.89 points to end at 170,429.43 and the JSE combined index gained 83.78 points to close at 161,971.41.

Jamaica Broilers traded 717,457 units to close at $14.50, Jamaica Producers traded 29,000 units to close at $30.50 after gaining 22 cents, JMMB Group had 852,261 units changing hands but fell 9 cents in closing at $10.40, Margaritaville Turks had 45,000 shares trading at 13 US cents. National Commercial Bank lost 3 cents with 388,750 shares changing hands, to close at $41, Proven Investments ordinary share traded 223,936 units and gained 2 US cents in closing at 22 US cents, Radio Jamaica ended with 13,883 units changing hands to close at $3.95. Sagicor Group lost 20 cents with 153,610 shares changing hands at $23, Sagicor Real Estate Fund lost $1 in trading 2,200 shares to close at $10. Scotia Group had only 10,750 shares changing hands to close at $31 and Supreme Ventures closed with a loss of 10 cents at $4.60 with 224,418 units changing hands.
JSE closes almost flat – Friday
Main market stocks collectively barely moved forward on Friday, with declining stocks being out-numbered by advancing ones 2 to1 with 10 stocks rising in the main market versus 5 declining. For the overall market, 29 securities changed hands, in all market segments with 14 rising and 5 declining.
The market closed with 11,607,440 units valued at $57,615,849 changing hands in all markets. The junior market accounted for 8,492,562 units changing hands, valued at $27,397,677.
The JSE Market Index gained just 7.60 points to 153,612.85 the all Jamaica Composite Index rose 8.50 points to end at 170,627.32 and the JSE combined index fell 215.80 points to close at 161,887.63.

Mayberry Investments had 27,938 shares trading at $4.40 for a rise of 35 cents, National Commercial Bank rose 3 cents with 102,600 shares changing hands, to close at $41.03, Proven Investments ordinary share traded 714,100 units at 20 US cents, down from 22 US cents, Pulse Investments added 36 cents to close at $2.91 with 77,000 units changing hands. Radio Jamaica ended with 25,862 units changing hands to gain 10 cents and close at $3.95, Sagicor Group gained 5 cents with 548,431 shares changing hands at $23.20, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 11,087 shares at $11. Scotia Group had 63,275 shares changing hands to close 50 cents higher at $31 and Supreme Ventures closed at $4.70 with 33,725 units changing hands.
Majors in moderate fall – Wednesday
The JSE Market Index lost 144.01 points to 153,042.48 the all Jamaica Composite Index dropped 160.95 points to end at 169,989.89 and the JSE combined index shed 569.64 points to close at 162,059.55.

Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 5,000 shares to end with a loss of $1.90 at $21, JMMB Group had 16,994 units changing hands but lost 13 cents in closing at $10.39, Kingston Wharves had 101,153 shares trading with a rise of 1 cent at $11.36, National Commercial Bank had 1,262,910 shares changing hands at $41 at the close. 138 Student Living traded 20,000 shares and gained 13 cents to end at $5.80, Pulse dropped $1.52 to cl6se at $2.40 with 22,294 units changing hands, Sagicor Group fell 50 cents with 274,371 shares changing hands at $23, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 114,030 shares but the price declined 50 cents to $11. Scotia Group had only 3,821 shares changing hands to close with a gain of 50 cents at $30.50. Scotia Investments rose $1.50 with 7,000 units changing hands at $28, Supreme Ventures closed at $4.99 with 23,260 units changing hands after shedding 10 cents, Proven Investments rose 2 US cents to end at 22 US cents with 530,000 units trading.
JSE suffered from uncertainty – Wednesday
The JSE Market Index suffered a fall of 191.17 points to 154,244.00 the all Jamaica Composite Index dropped 213.64 points to end at 171,332.67 and the JSE combined index dropped 224.85 points to close at 162,989.36. The main market recovered from losses in the indices in the morning session with the all Jamaican Composite Index dropping more than 1,000 points.

At the end of the market activities, Cable and Wireless gained 5 cents as 9,498 units changed hands to close at $1.50, Caribbean Cement rose $1.56 on Wednesday to end at $22.06 with 123,032 shares trading, Carreras closed with a gain of 50 cents at $65, while trading 216,663 units. Gleaner Company gained 5 cents to close at $2 as 101,689 shares changed hands, Grace Kennedy ended with 3,541 shares trading to close at $83 after declining by $1, the stock traded in Trinidad at the equivalent of $94 on Wednesday. Jamaica Broilers rose 50 cents after trading 566,345 units to close at $14.50, Jamaica Producers ended with 1,323,480 shares changing hands at $30, the stock traded at an intraday high of $35.05, Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 524 shares to end at $23 as the price gained $2, JMMB Group had 290,907 units changing hands to close at $10.42. Kingston Wharves had 1,361 shares trading with a fall of 13 cents at $11.31, Mayberry Investments traded 12,224 shares to close with a gain of 57 cents at $5.08, National Commercial Bank had 85,093 shares changing hands but the price rose by 14 cents to close at $40.15. 138 Student Living traded 22,500 shares at $5.80, Pan Jamaican Investments gained 80 cents while trading 33,044 units at $95, Sagicor Group rose 48 cents with 697,261 shares changing hands at $23.50, Sagicor Real Estate Fund traded 26,820 shares but the price fell 20 cents to $11.30. Scotia Group had 57,321 shares changing hands to close with a loss of 1 cent at $30.99, Scotia Investments rose $1.37 with 110,000 units changing hands at $28. Supreme Ventures fell by 9 cents and closed at $5.90 with 26,034 units changing hands and JMMB Group 7.50% preference share traded 160,000 units at $1.20.
Mixed trading on Monday
The Jamaica Stock Exchange is undergoing mix fortunes in losses in the early morning session on Monday with the junior market stock index rising and majors falling. After 75 minutes of the market opening, 30 securities traded, accounting for only 717,672 shares changing hands. A total of only 3 stocks fell and 10 rose.
The all Jamaica Composite Index lost 128.70 points to 174,697.27, the JSE Market Index fell 115.16 points to 157,254.68, the JSE combined index gained 81.15 points to 166,137.37 and the junior market index rose 21 points to 1,977.28.
Caribbean Cement fell $4 with 36,000 shares to be at $26, after the company reported full year results to December last year with earnings of $1.82 after an exceptional charge and one off income. Carreras traded just 100 but gained $1.60 to $65.70, Gleaner Company traded 123,047 but fell 35 cents to $2.10.
