Massy stock price recovers on Wednesday from Tuesday’s drop.

Only 10 securities traded on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Wednesday, compared to 15 on Tuesday, with 2 advancing, 1 declining and 7 remaining unchanged, leading to a rise in market indices.
The market closed, as 342,323 shares changed hands, at a value of $4,812,950, compared to Tuesday’s trades of 218,112 valued at $3,234,221. At the close, the Composite Index inched up 0.43 points to 1,206.72, the All T&T Index gained just 0.85 points to 1,790.04 and the Cross Listed Index closed at 83.52.

The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange closed on Monday Market with a negative bias even as the all three market indices rose from a positive advance, decline ratio.

Market activity resulted in 12 securities changing hands, compared to 10 on Friday.
At the close a total of 4 stocks advanced, 2 declined and 6 remaining unchanged as price changes were moderate, ranging from 1 cent to a high of 5 cents.

Massy was the most dominant trade on Friday.

Trading activity on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange remained low-keyed on Friday with only 10 securities changing hands compared to 9 on Thursday but number of units increased as well as the value of the units traded increased over Thursday’s levels.
Massy Holdings and Scotia Investments led trading with 55 percent and 31 percent of the market respectively, with 343,205 shares changed hands at a value of $8,980,169 compared to Thursday’s trades of 260,831 valued at $1,442,039.
Trading closed with 2 stocks advancing, 4 declining and 4 holding firm leading to the Composite Index declining 1.38 points to 1,206.46. The All T&T Index lost 0.09 points to 1,790.02 and the Cross Listed Index fell 0.37 points to 83.45.

Scotia Investments now the subject of a proposed buyout by the Jamaica parent Scotia Group dominated trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Friday with 97 percent of the trades. The stock gained 6 cents to close at $1.96, with trading 2,024,656 shares valued at $3,948,159.
A total of 15 securities changed hands compared to 19 on Thursday as 2,080,937 shares were exchanged by investors, valued at $4,909,138 on Friday compared to Thursday’s 153,171 units valued at $8,814,925. At the close, 1 stock advanced, 5 declined and 9 remained unchanged.

Jamaica’s Grace Kennedy accounted for 86 percent of the volume and 38 percent of the value traded on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday. The market closed with a sharp rise in the level of activity compared with Wednesday’s with 19 securities trading, compared to 13 on Wednesday.
