The Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange indices closed sharply lower on Friday with First Citizens trading down to $47.50 before bouncing by the close. In the end, the T&T Composite Index lost 8.85 points to close at 1,503.10. The All T&T Index dived 20.08 points to 1,911.03, while the Cross Listed Index closed with a gain of 0.35 points to end at 148.37.
The market ended with 14 securities changing hands versus 16 on Thursday and leading to the prices of four gaining, two declining and the prices of eight remaining unchanged.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 159,258 shares for $3,092,226, compared to 187,825 shares for $4,035,174 on Thursday.
IC bid-offer Indicator| The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of seven stocks higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers
Gains| CinemaOne rose 75 cents to close at $6.50 with an exchange of 800 shares, First Citizens Bank exchanged 6,005 stock units and gained $1.01 to settle at $53 after trading at a low for the day of $47.50. Guardian Holdings had 2,259 units crossing the exchange with a rise of 20 cents to close at $22 and NCB Financial added 5 cents and closed with 1,583 shares trading at $11.30,
Losses| Clico Investment lost 2 cents to close at $28.46, with 72,954 units crossing the exchange and Trinidad & Tobago NGL slipped 1 cent transferring 3,980 shares to close at $20.89.
Firm Trades| Agostini’s traded 496 shares at $25.45, First Caribbean International Bank exchanged 7,789 units at $7.89, JMMB Group lost one cent and ended at $2.70, with investors trading 7,826 stock units. Massy Holdings exchanged 599 shares to close at $62.05, National Flour exchanged 49,743 shares and closed at $1.49, Republic Holdings closed trading with 134 shares at $143, Scotiabank ended trading with 5,163 units to close at $62 and West Indian Tobacco closed at $38.50 in transferring 727 stock units.
