The Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market index slipped just 1.72 points to close at 3,404.79 in trading on Thursday as volumes rose 66 percent and value up 95 percent over Thursday’s levels
At the close of market activities, 26 securities changed hands versus 27 companies trading on Thursday with the prices of 9 securities rising, 7 declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
Market activities, resulted in an exchange of 3,253,708 units valued at $20,983,345 up from 1,961,441 units valued at $10,776,646 changing hands on Thursday.
Trading ended with an average of 125,143 units for an average of $807,052 in contrast to 72,646 units for an average of $399,135 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 93,190 units at $489,550 compared to 89,655 units at $454,422 previously, in contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.

General Accident fell 10 cents swapping 1,267,447 units at $6.85, GWest Corporation climbed 2 cents and exchanged 30,513 shares at $1.04, iCreate declined 2 cents in trading of 5,500 units at 71 cents, Jamaican Teas closed with 10,865 units changing hands and gained 10 cents to end at $6.20, Knutsford Express climbed 25 cents in exchanging 6,000 shares at $10.50. Lasco Financial fell 20 cents in trading of 14,363 units at $4.80, Lasco Manufacturing lost 10 cents with 67,212 units changing hands at $5.10, Limners and Bards climbed 14 cents and exchanged 9,719 shares at $2.72, Main Event closed 5 cents higher at $5.75, with 19,900 stock units trading. Iron Rock Insurance closed trading of 78,000 units and gained 4 cents to end at $3.99, Stationery and Office Supplies exchanged 526,755 shares to close at $11 after falling 50 cents and tTech ended trading with 2,660 shares, after rising 50 cents to end at $6.

At the close of market activities, 27 securities changed hands versus 29 trading on Wednesday with the prices of 8 securities rising, 13 declining and 6 remaining unchanged.
Market activities, resulted in an exchange of 1,961,441 units valued at $10,776,646 down from 3,632,177 units valued at $18,080,990 changing hands on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an average of 72,646 units for an average of $399,135 in contrast to 125,247 units for an average of $623,482 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 89,655 units at $454,422 compared to 91,863 units at $461,599 previously, in contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange dived 71.97 points to close at 3,413.32 in trading on Tuesday, almost wiping out the 73 points gain over the past two trading days.
The market closed with 29 securities crossing the exchange versus 31 on Monday and ended with the prices of just 3 securities advancing, 23 falling, 2 remaining unchanged while two traded at a 52 weeks’ low.
Market activities, resulted in an exchange of 2,395,994 units valued at $16,463,282 compared to 1,540,695 units valued $7,317,969 changing hands on Monday.
Trading ended with an average of 85,571 units for an average of $587,974 in contrast to 49,700 units for an average of $236,063 on Monday. Bun & Teas in IC TOP 10 BUY RATED

Buy Rated Junior Market stocks have two new entrants this week with Honey Bun and Jamaican Teas returning to the top listing. Both companies’ fiscal year ended September, with earnings for the 2020 fiscal year, used in valuing them.
The new listings are expected to benefit from growth in the core business, with Honey Bun continuing to benefit above the norm from the expansion of the factory late last year and new products being manufactured while Jamaican Teas could benefit from investment gains from the portfolio of QWI Investments.
Dropping from the Junior Market TOP 10 are Elite Diagnostic and Express Catering. There were no changes to the main market TOP 10.
Market activity, left Caribbean Producers with projected gains of 240 percent as the leading Junior Market stock with likely gains, followed by Iron Rock Insurance with potential gains of 204 percent and Medical Disposables with projected gains of 184 percent.
Radio Jamaica (RJR) share price slipped during the week to a low of $1.35 but bounced to close the week at $1.60, pushing projected gains to 213 percent, to remain the leading main market stock. RJR is benefiting from increasing revenues, resulting from a more buoyant economy, the rollout of new services, the signing of an agreement with Flow that will add to revenues without the added cost and lower costs in a number of areas, with more to come. Carreras sits at the number two spot with projected gains of 125 percent with the price slipping a bit during the week and Berger Paints with projected gains of 115 percent in next.
The main market, closed the week with the overall PE of 17.1 down from 17.7 the previous week and the Junior Market is at 11.1 from 11.7 based on current year’s earnings. The PE ratio for Junior Market Top 10 stocks averages 7.7 compared to 7.9 the previous week and the main market PE remains at 10.4.
The TOP 10 stocks now trade at an average discount of 31 percent to the average for the Junior Market Top stocks and main market stocks trade at a discount of 39 percent to the overall market.
TOP 10 stocks are likely to deliver the best returns to March next year. Projected earnings, along with the PE ratio for each company’s current fiscal year are used in determining potential gains with the likely gains ranked in descending order with highest-ranked being the most attractive. Potential values will change as stock prices fluctuate and will result in movements of the selection in and out of the lists for most weeks. Earnings per share are revised on an ongoing basis as new information is received that can result in changes in and out of the list.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 30 securities on Thursday with the prices of 12 securities advanced, 13 declined and 5 remained unchanged leading the market Index to dipped just 4.40 points to 3,422.55.
Market activities, resulted in an exchange of 2,444,430 units valued at $10,669,698 compared to 5,067,017 units valued at $23,716,252 from 28 securities changing hands on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an average of 81,481 units for an average of $355,657 in contrast to 180,965 units for an average of $847,009 on Wednesday. Junior Market suffers big fall – Wednesday

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended on Wednesday with the market Index dropping sharply by 89.34 points to close at 3,426.95 as Access Financial dived $5, General Accident dipped 60 cents and Stationery and Office Supplies dropped 79 cents.
Trading ended with 28 securities changing hands with prices of 11 advancing, 11 declining, 6 remaining unchanged and resulted in an exchange of 5,067,017 units valued at $23,716,252 compared to 2,138,664 units at $11,183,538 from 30 securities changing hands on Tuesday.
Trading closed with an average of 180,965 units for an average of $847,009 in contrast to 71,289 units for an average of $372,785 on Tuesday. GWest Corporation gained 1 cent to end at $1.02, in trading 60,535 shares, Honey Bun climbed 50 cents in exchanging 100 shares at $6.50, iCreate closed trading of 1,800 units and gained 1 cent to end at 73 cents, Indies Pharma lost 1 cent at $3.31 with 30,230 stock units changing hands. Jamaican Teas fell 30 cents trading of 25,248 units at $6, Jetcon Corporation fell 20 cents in trading of 71,233 units at $2, Knutsford Express dipped 10 cents in trading 10,310 units at $11, Lasco Distributors closed trading of 3,069,824 units and gained 15 cents to end at $3.70. Lasco Financial ended with 94,729 shares crossing the exchange, after rising 5 cents to end at $5.05, Lasco Manufacturing closed with a loss of 20 cents at $5.20, after swapping 31,500 shares. Limners and Bards closed 7 cents higher at $2.82, with 88,901 stock units trading, Paramount Trading lost 20 cents in trading of 6,721 units at $2 and Stationery and Office Supplies dipped 79 cents in trading of 62,770 units to end at $10.80.

Junior Market starts October down

The trend of a large number of stocks rising at the end of one month, followed by falling prices at the start of the next, was evident at the end of September and October on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
Market activities closed on Tuesday with 30 securities changing hands, resulting in the prices of 7 securities advanced, 16 declined and 6 remained unchanged in contrast to 26 trading with 10 rising and 7 falling. At the close, the Junior Market Index declined 16.96 points to 3,516.31.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 2,138,664 units valued at $11,183,538 down sharply from 6,210,149 units valued at $22,471,302 trading on Monday.
Trading ended with an average of 71,289 units for an average of $372,785 in contrast to 238,852 units for an average of $864,281 on Monday. In contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.

Caribbean Producers declined 9 cents trading 70,481 units to end at $4.51, Consolidated Bakeries dipped 12 cents in exchanging 6,167 units at $1.75, Dolphin Cove dropped $1.75 in moving 420,763 units through the market at a 52 weeks’ low of $10. Derrimon Trading ended with 604,122 shares changing hands, after rising 1 cent to end at $2.36, Express Catering dipped 50 cents in trading of 19,912 units at $6, Everything Fresh lost 6 cents in swapping 20,000 shares to close at $1.25, Elite Diagnostic closed 8 cents higher at $5.40, with 57,236 stock units crossing the exchange. Fosrich shed 5 cents in trading of 5,050 units at $5.05, Fontana ended with 62,501 shares changing hands after rising 15 cents to end at $8.45, General Accident gained 1 to end at $6.91, trading 17,272 shares, GWest Corporation fell 9 cents in exchanging of 34,594 units at $1.01. Honey Bun ended with a loss of $1 at $6 with 73,900 stock units changing hands, iCreate ended trading with 10,000 shares, after rising 2 cents to end at 72 cents, Indies Pharma ended with 79,613 shares crossing the exchange, after rising 2 cents to end at $3.32. Jetcon Corporation closed 20 cents higher at $2.20, with 83,296 stock units trading, Lasco Distributors dipped 30 cents in trading of 23,246 units at $3.55. Lasco Manufacturing closed with a loss of 10 cents at $5.40, in swapping of 20,753 shares, Limners and Bards lost 22 cents in exchanging of 201,729 units at $2.75 and Stationery and Office Supplies dropped by 81 cents to settle at $11.59. In the junior market preference segment, Paramount Trading close with a loss of 15 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ low of $2.05 after swapping of 500 shares.
