Junior Market suffers minor fall – Thursday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange traded 30 securities on Thursday with the prices of 12 securities advanced, 13 declined and 5 remained unchanged leading the market Index to dipped just 4.40 points to 3,422.55.
Market activities, resulted in an exchange of 2,444,430 units valued at $10,669,698 compared to 5,067,017 units valued at $23,716,252 from 28 securities changing hands on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an average of 81,481 units for an average of $355,657 in contrast to 180,965 units for an average of $847,009 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 109,660 units at $517,835 compared to 124,236 shares valued at $601,721 previously, in contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.

At the close of the market, Access Financial ended with a loss of $3.40 at a 52 weeks’ low of $33.60, after swapping 9,687 shares, AMG Packaging declined 11 cents in trading 25,000 units at $1.75, Blue Power ended with a loss of $1 at $9 with 5,155 stock units changing hands. Caribbean Producers lost 26 cents in trading of 16,110 units to close at $4.51, Consolidated Bakeries closed 5 cents higher at $1.80, with 6,000 stock units trading, Dolphin Cove ended trading with 34,205 shares, after rising 49 cents to end at $10.50. Derrimon Trading closed 13 cents higher at $2.55, with 143,250 stock units changing hands, Express Catering lost 62 cents trading 2,173 units at $5.68, Elite Diagnostic ended with 7,600 shares crossing the exchange after rising 81 cents to end at $6.21. Fontana closed trading of 120,657 units and gained 10 cents to end at $8.40, General Accident exchanged 3,100 units and gained 9 cents to end at $6.40, Honey Bun fell 35 cents in swapping 26,925 units at $6.15, Iron Rock Insurance lost 5 cents in trading 16,577 shares to close at $3.95. Jamaican Teas closed 10 cents higher at $6.10, with 24,774 stock units moving through the market, Jetcon Corporation lost 20 cents in trading of 25,559 units at $1.80. Knutsford Express fell 19 cents in exchanging 3,785 units at $10.81, Lasco Distributors closed 10 cents higher at $3.80, with 976,000 stock units changing hands. Lasco Financial ended market activity exchanging 554,327 shares to close at $4.76 after falling 29 cents, Lasco Manufacturing climbed 9 cents and exchanged 32,560 shares at $5.29, Limners and Bards dipped 7 cents in trading 90,522 units at $2.75, Medical Disposables closed 5 cents higher at $7.05, trading 4,000 stock units. Main Event lost 49 cents in exchanging 24,779 shares to close at $5.51, Paramount Trading climbed 20 cents and exchanged 15,000 shares at $2.20. Stationery and Office Supplies ended trading with 2,250 shares, after rising 35 cents to end at $11.15 and SSL Venture Capital resumed trading after a long suspension and ended with a loss of 1 cent at 1.60 with 9,121 stock units changing hands.
