Strong Junior Market gains for second day

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange advanced 36.11 points to close at 3,485.29 in trading on Monday, following the 26.63 points rise on Friday.
The market closed with 31 securities crossing the exchange versus 32 on Friday and ended with the prices of 16 securities advancing, 8 falling and 7 remaining unchanged.
Market activities, resulted in an exchange of 1,540,695 units valued $7,317,969 compared to 1,888,462 units valued at $8,580,846 changing hands on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 49,700 units for an average of $236,063 in contrast to 59,014 units for an average of $268,151 on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 86,618 units at $407,075 compared to 96,155 units at $451,253 previously, in contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.

At the close of the market, Access Financial ended market activity exchanging 8,487 shares to close at $36.50 after falling 50 cents, AMG Packaging closed 17 cents higher at $2, with 21,450 stock units trading, Blue Power close with a loss of 35 cents at $8.65, swapping of 800 shares. Cargo Handlers declined 55 cents in trading of 3,900 units at $9.45, Caribbean Producers closed trading of 10,000 units and gained 5 cents to end at $4.80, Consolidated Bakeries ended trading with 16,100 shares, after rising 5 cents to end at $1.8. Derrimon Trading climbed 12 cents in exchanging 69,666 shares at $2.58, Express Catering dipped 6 cents in trading of 3,100 units at $6.34, Elite Diagnostic traded 68,343 units and gained 10 cents to end at $5.60, Fosrich closed with a loss of 5 cents at $4.95, after swapping of 25,229 shares. Fontana lost 20 cents in exchanging 328,535 shares to close at 8 cents, General Accident traded 29,552 shares, after rising 20 cents to end at $6.70, Honey Bun ended with 15,100 shares changing hands after rising 3 cents to end at $6.38, Indies Pharma lost 3 cents with 98,515 units crossing the exchange at $3.32. Iron Rock Insurance closed trading of 200 units and gained 5 cents to end at $4, Jamaican Teas climbed 7 cents and exchanged 49,220 shares at $6, Jetcon Corporation closed 4 cents higher at $2, with 207,144 stock units trading, Limners and Bards ended with 150,562 shares trading, after rising 25 cents to end at $2.80. Lasco Distributors fell 5 cents in swapping 179,816 units at $3.70. Lasco Financial ended trading with 600 shares, after rising 5 cents to end at $4.90, Lasco Manufacturing closed 10 cents higher at $5.50, with 108,235 stock units changing. Main Event ended trading with 3,726 shares, after rising 40 cents to end at $6, Paramount Trading exchanged 10,925 units and gained 5 cents to end at $2.25 and Stationery and Office Supplies ended trading of 25,000 shares, after rising 85 cents to end at $12.
