Junior Market suffers big fall – Wednesday

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended on Wednesday with the market Index dropping sharply by 89.34 points to close at 3,426.95 as Access Financial dived $5, General Accident dipped 60 cents and Stationery and Office Supplies dropped 79 cents.  
Trading ended with 28 securities changing hands with prices of 11 advancing, 11 declining, 6 remaining unchanged and resulted in an exchange of 5,067,017 units valued at $23,716,252 compared to 2,138,664 units at $11,183,538 from 30 securities changing hands on Tuesday.
Trading closed with an average of 180,965 units for an average of $847,009 in contrast to 71,289 units for an average of $372,785 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to  124,236 units valued at $601,721. In contrast, September closed with an average of 954,574 units valued at $2,612,695 for each security traded.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading shows 3 stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and 2 with lower offers.
At the close of the market, Access Financial dropped $5 to settle at $37 after exchanging 3,889 shares, Caribbean Flavours closed trading of 1,052 units and gained 1 cent to end at $13.01, Caribbean Producers climbed 26 cents and exchanged 28,857 shares at $4.77. Dolphin Cove climbed 1 cent and exchanged 307,716 shares at $10.01, Derrimon Trading exchanged 188,278 shares, after rising 6 cents to end at $2.42, Express Catering closed 30 cents higher at $6.30, with 19,785 stock units trading, Everything Fresh lost 4 cents in swapping 9,600 shares to close at $1.21. Fontana ended market activity exchanging 127,784 shares to close at $8.30 after falling 15 cents, General Accident dipped 60 cents in trading of 628,164 units at $6.31. GWest Corporation gained 1 cent to end at $1.02, in trading 60,535 shares, Honey Bun climbed 50 cents in exchanging 100 shares at $6.50, iCreate closed trading of 1,800 units and gained 1 cent to end at 73 cents, Indies Pharma lost 1 cent at $3.31 with 30,230 stock units changing hands. Jamaican Teas fell 30 cents trading of 25,248 units at $6, Jetcon Corporation fell 20 cents in trading of 71,233 units at $2, Knutsford Express dipped 10 cents in trading 10,310 units at $11, Lasco Distributors closed trading of 3,069,824 units and gained 15 cents to end at $3.70. Lasco Financial ended with 94,729 shares crossing the exchange, after rising 5 cents to end at $5.05, Lasco Manufacturing closed with a loss of 20 cents at $5.20, after swapping 31,500 shares. Limners and Bards closed 7 cents higher at $2.82, with 88,901 stock units trading, Paramount Trading lost 20 cents in trading of 6,721 units at $2 and Stationery and Office Supplies dipped 79 cents in trading of 62,770 units to end at $10.80.
