Second day of gains for JSE Majors

Market activity ended on Tuesday with the volume of shares trading rising marginally, with the value 62 percent higher than on Monday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as declining stocks beat out those rising.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rallied 1,237.61 points to 431,445.53, the JSE Main Index popped 736.12 points to 390,292.37 and the JSE Financial Index added 0.29 points to end at 95.43.
Trading ended with 50 securities compared to 52 on Monday, with 17 rising, 23 declining and 10 ending unchanged. Transjamaican Highway led trading with 32.7 percent of total volume after an exchange of 2.96 million shares followed by Wisynco Group 15.7 percent, with 1.43 million units, Wigton Windfarm contributed 12 percent with 1.09 million units and Pulse Investments 11.3 percent for an exchange of 1.02 million units.
Trading averages 181,132 units at $1,977,707, compared to 165,488 shares at $1,176,590 on Monday and month to date, an average of 249,657 units at $2,893,458, versus 253,830 units at $3,057,633 on Monday. October closed with an average of 251,350 units at $2,773,208.

Trading plunges on JSE Main Market

Market activity ended on Monday with the volume of shares trading declining modestly as the value plunged 69 percent below Friday trades at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as rising stocks exceeded those falling, sending the market indices higher in the process.
The All Jamaican Composite Index surged 2,970.07 points to 430,207.92, the JSE Main Index climbed 2,743.08 points to 389,556.25 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.65 points to end at 95.14.
Overall, 52 securities traded compared to 53 on Friday, with 20 rising, 18 declining and 14 ending unchanged.

Cement weights down JSE Main Market again

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market suffered a second day of significant decline as Caribbean Cement’s price plunged again on Friday to sit at $78 after more than a million shares traded, with the price hitting $69, as investors sold the stock down, following disclosure that company is proposing to increase the payout to its Parent, by way of increased management and other fees, up to four percent of revenues. 
The All Jamaican Composite Index plunged 7,346.88 points, following Thursday nearly 5,000 points drop, to close the week at 427,237.85, and the lowest point since late-December last year. The JSE Main Index dived 6,433.10 points to 386,813.17 and the JSE Financial Index declined 1.26 points to end at 94.49.
Traded volume declined moderately as the value slipped 28 percent below Thursday trades as 53 securities changed hands compared to 51 on Thursday, with 20 rising, 21 declining and 12 ending unchanged.

Caribbean Cement pushed JSE down

Caribbean Cement plunged $23 to close trading f 1,185,267 shares, at $81, with investors reacting negatively to a resolution proposed by the company to be considered at the upcoming annual general meeting to establish the general framework for services provided by Cemex to CCCL as well as royalties for the use of trademarks, names and intellectual property owned by Cemex and licenced to CCCL.

Market activity ended on Thursday with the volume of shares trading declining 60 percent and the value 38 percent below Wednesday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, as declining stocks overwhelmed those rising by almost two to one.
The All Jamaican Composite Index plunged 4,924.79 points to settle at 434,584.73, to hold just above the close for 2020, the Main Index fell 4,137.31 points to 393,246.27, pushing it into negative territory for the year and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.53 points to end at 95.75.

Trading jumped sharply at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Wednesday, with the volume of shares trading rising 115 percent and the value surging 260 percent higher than on Tuesday, but the market indices eked out a modest rise as declining stocks edged those rising.
The All Jamaican Composite Index climbed 226.34 points to 439,509.52, the JSE Main Index squeezed out a gain of 3.56 points to end at 397,383.58 and the JSE Financial Index added 0.16 points to settle at 96.28.
Trading ended with 49 securities compared to 53 on Tuesday, with 19 rising, 20 declining and 10 ending unchanged.

Market activity ended on Tuesday with the volume of shares trading declining 39 percent and the value 21 percent lower than on Monday, but the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market recorded gains in the indices as rising stocks edged those declining.
The All Jamaican Composite Index jumped 1,731.22 points to 439,283.18, the JSE Main Index climbed 2,587.35 points to 397,380.02 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.70 points to end at 96.12.
Similar to Monday 53 securities traded, 22 rose, 19 declined and 12 ended unchanged.

The volume of shares trading at the close on Monday jumped 42 percent over Friday’s with a modest fall in the value leading the market into a modest decline in the overall market as stocks rising edged out those that declined on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market.  
The All Jamaican Composite Index dipped 92.62 points to 437,551.96, the JSE Main Index fell 378.65 points to 394,792.67 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.10 points to end at 95.42.

Drop again for JSE Main market

Market activity ended on Friday with the volume of shares trading falling 59 percent and the value marginally greater than Thursday as declining stocks overpowered those rising three to two on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as NCB Financial hit a closing 52 weeks’ low.
The All Jamaican Composite Index fell 2,854.98 points to 437,644.58, the JSE Main Index declined 2,810.34 points to 395,171.32 and the JSE Financial Index shed 0.88 points to end at 95.52.

NCB Financial declined $4.68 to a 52 weeks’ closing low of $115.02 in transferring 34,177 shares, Palace Amusement dropped $20 to $960 after trading two stocks, PanJam Investment fell $1.70 to $66.30 with the swapping of 6,504 stock units. Proven Investments advanced $1.99 to $33.50 with 1,706 units changing hands, Radio Jamaica shed 70 cents in closing at $3.50 with the swapping of 2,014,280 stocks, following the release of record six months results, Sagicor Group lost 50 cents to finish at $54 in trading 404 stock units. Salada Foods slipped 50 cents to $7 with an exchange of 45,736 shares, Scotia Group fell $1.95 to end at $34.05 after trading 2,680,542 stock units, Supreme Ventures shed 71 cents to close at $17.23 in switching ownership of 18,990 stocks. Sygnus Credit Investments rallied 78 cents to $18.90 in an exchange of 143,034 units and Sygnus Real Estate Finance declined $1.99 in closing at a 52 weeks’ low of $16 with 10,981 shares clearing the market.

Increased trading pushes JSE Main Market

Market activity ended on Thursday with the volume of shares trading surging 198 percent and the value of 81 percent higher than Wednesday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, leading to rising stocks edging those that declined.
The All Jamaican Composite Index popped 1,608.31 points to 440,499.56, the JSE Main Index rose 1,916.17 points to 397,981.66 and the Financial Index popped 0.93 points to end at 96.40.
A total of  49 securities traded down from 54 on Wednesday, with 21 rising, 19 declining and nine ending unchanged.
The PE Ratio, a measure used in computing appropriate stock values, averages 15.7. The PE ratio for the JSE Main and USD Market closing quotes are based on earnings forecasted by ICInsider.com for companies with financial years ending between the current year and August 2022.
Trading ended with 28,191,943 shares changing hands for $175,549,676 versus 9,456,467 units at $97,056,444 on Wednesday. Pulse Investments led trading with 34.1 percent of total volume after transferring 9.6 million shares followed by Carreras 18.4 percent with 5.18 million units, Wigton Windfarm contributed 15.7 percent after trading 4.43 million units, Radio Jamaica contributed 11.2 percent with 3.17 million units, Caribbean Producers ended with 7.5 percent in an exchange of 2.1 million units and QWI Investments with 4.9 percent after 1.38 million units changing hands.
Trading averages 575,346 units at $3,582,646, compared  to 175,120 shares at $1,797,342 on Wednesday and month to date, an average of 267,974 units at $2,341,992, versus 231,059 units at $2,192,992 on Wednesday. October  closed with an average of 251,350 units at $2,773,208.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows 14  ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and 2 with lower offers.
At the close, Caribbean Cement dropped $2.50 to $102.20 in trading 17,750 shares, Caribbean Producers rose $1.78 to a 52 weeks’ closing high of $9.98 with an exchange of 2,103,404 units, GraceKennedy popped 94 cents in ending at $99.94 in transferring 130,438 stocks. Guardian Holdings dropped $20 to $520 in switching ownership of 232 stock units, Jamaica Producers shed $1.50 to close at $22 with 26,522 shares changing hands, JMMB Group spiked 59 cents to end at $37.50, with 469,936 units clearing the market. Margaritaville gained 40 cents to close at $15.90 in trading 875 stocks. Mayberry Investments lost 48 cents to finish at $7.51 after exchanging 402 stock units. Mayberry Jamaican Equities dipped 61 cents to $8.51, with 1,018 units crossing the exchange. MPC Caribbean Clean Energy declined $5 to $110 in switching ownership of 2 shares, NCB Financial lost 25 cents in closing at $119.70 with a transfer of 44,033 stocks, Palace Amusement dropped $40 to $980 in trading 13 stock units. PanJam Investment rallied $5 to $68 after 14,000 stock units cleared the market, Proven Investments declined $2.39 to close at $31.51 with the swapping of 12,348 units, Radio Jamaica gained 28 cents to end at $4.20 after exchanging 3,168,173 shares. Sagicor Group rose 50 cents to $54.50 in switching ownership of 71,078 stocks, Salada Foods rallied 51 cents to $7.50 with 6,846 stock units crossing the market, Scotia Group gained 50 cents in ending at $36 with the swapping of 35,147 shares. Seprod spiked $2.20 in closing at $63.30 in exchanging 1,361 units, Stanley Motta rose 43 cents to end at $5.50 after 24,289 stock units changed hands, Sygnus Credit Investments shed 33 cents to close at $18.12 trading 52,125 units and Wisynco Group declined $1.10 to $16.65 in an exchange of 127,695 stock units.

JSE Main market make gains on Tuesday

 Investors pumped up the volume of shares trading on Tuesday, with a 23 percent increase pushed by 40 percent more funds higher than they did on Monday at the close of trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rallied 887.99 points to 441,748.67, the Main Index rose 875.77 points to 400,024.12 and the JSE Financial Index rallied 0.13 points to end at 96.62.
Trading ended with 53 securities similar to Monday, with 22 rising, 21 declining and 10 ending unchanged. Trading resulted in  an exchange of 12,270,585 shares for $83,634,712, up from 10,000,311 units at $59,648,996 on Monday. Wigton Windfarm led trading with 32.2 percent of total volume with a transfer of 3.95 million shares, followed by Transjamaican Highway, with 21.2 percent for 2.60 million units and Mayberry Investments 11 percent with an exchange of 1.35 million shares.
Trading averaged 231,520 units at $1,578,013, compared to 188,685 shares at $1,125,453 on Monday and month to date, an average of 239,592 units at $2,253,345, down from 241,013 units at $2,372,257 on Monday. October closed with an average of 251,350 units at $2,773,208.

At the close, Barita Investments lost 32 cents to end at $92.98 in switching ownership of 9,641 shares, Caribbean Cement rallied $1.34 to $104.85 with 4,946 stock units changing hands, Eppley rose 99 cents in closing at $37.99 after trading 16 units. First Rock Capital fell 50 cents to close at $11.45 with an exchange of 52,964 stocks, GraceKennedy spiked $1 to $99 after 194,437 shares cleared the market, Guardian Holdings advanced $2.99 to $539.99 in trading 213 stock units. Jamaica Producers popped $1.70 to $23.45 with 1,633 stocks crossing the exchange, Jamaica Stock Exchange gained 56 cents ending at $17.56 with the swapping of 28,342 units, Key Insurance lost 26 cents in closing at $4.12 with 2,016 stocks changing hands. Kingston Properties rose 50 cents to close at $8.50 in trading 138,717 shares, Kingston Wharves fell 95 cents to $46 after exchanging 248 units, Mayberry Investments shed $1.71 to end at $7.06, with 1,346,670 shares crossing the market. MPC Caribbean Clean Energy advanced $5 to $115 with a transfer of 15 stock units, Palace Amusement climbed $19 to $1,019 after exchanging 102 units, PanJam Investment spiked $6.90 to close at $69.90 in trading 2,111 shares. Sagicor Real Estate Fund shed 60 cents in closing at $8 in switching ownership of 54,271 stocks, Salada Foods shed 56 cents to close at $7 with 27,736 stock units crossing the market, Scotia Group gained 28 cents to end at $36.49 with the swapping of 57,141 shares. Seprod advanced $3.10 to $63.25 after trading 7,942 stocks, Sygnus Real Estate Finance lost 50 cents to $17.50 in transferring 1,990 units and Wisynco Group slipped 39 cents to $16.61 switching ownership of 301,777 units.
