Rising stocks shared the honors with sliding stocks on Wednesday after 20 securities changed hands leading to an equal number of six stocks rising and falling, with the market Indices declining at the close of a moderate trading session on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
Trading ended, with rising and declining stocks accounting six each while eight remained unchanged. GraceKennedy and Massy Holdings closed trading at 52 weeks’ highs.
The Composite Index fell 3.80 points to 1,423.77, the All T&T Index popped 0.95 points to 1,934.11 and the Cross-Listed Index dipped 1.25 points to 123.00.
A total of 188,408 shares traded, for $3,382,447 down from 214,446 units on Tuesday with a value of $3,734,861 An average of 11,914 units traded at $207,492 compared to 56,886 at $512,921 on Tuesday. The average trade for the month to date amounts to 19,376 shares at $241,429 versus 21,093 units at $253,895. The average trade for July amounts to 20,941 units at $221,079.

Stocks mostly posted gains than losses when market activity ended on Thursday, leading to the market rising moderately after 17 percent fewer shares with a 112 percent greater value than on Wednesday traded, at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.

Market activity ended on Wednesday resulted in more securities trading but with 20 percent fewer shares carrying a slightly higher value than on Tuesday, resulting in an equal number of stocks rising and falling at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.

Declining stocks outpaced those rising almost two one at the close of market activity on Thursday, with an 11 percent rise in the volume of shares trading over Wednesday activities, even as the level of trading remains subdued, resulting in mixed fortune for the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
At the close, 15 securities traded compared to 16 on Wednesday, with four rising, seven declining and four remaining unchanged. The Composite Index shed 2.07 points to 1,420.62, the All T&T Index rose 2.01 points to 1,930.04, and the Cross-Listed Index shed 0.90 points to settle at 122.69.

Trinidad stocks falter on increase trades

Market activity spiked on Tuesday after investors traded 106 percent more shares than on Monday and carried 69 percent higher value as trading, resulting in more stocks falling than rising and pushing the market indices down at the close of trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock markets Exchange.
At the close, 19 securities traded compared to 16 on Monday, with three stocks rising, eight declining and eight remaining unchanged.
The Composite Index declined 8.86 points to settle at 1,416.59, the All T&T Index dropped 17.14 points to 1,928.57 and the Cross-Listed Index remained unchanged at 121.74.
A total of 307,359 shares traded for $3,882,610, up from 149,102 units at $2,292,097 on Monday.
An average of 16,177 units traded at $204,348 compared to 9,319 at $143,256 on Monday. The average trade, month to date amounts to 23,344 units at $236,106 versus 23,795 units at $238,104. The average trade for June amounts to 45,770 units at $724,497.
The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows five stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and one with a lower offer.
At the close, Agostini’s traded 702 shares at $24.55, Angostura Holdings remained at $16.49 with a transfer of 136 units, Ansa McAL declined $2 to end at $58 in switching ownership of 256 stock units. Calypso Macro Investment Fund settled at $16.50 after trading 1,500 units, Clico Investment Fund shed 50 cents to $27, with 24,508 stock units clearing the market, First Citizens Bank closed at $50 in exchanging 5,703 shares. GraceKennedy slipped 15 cents to $6.15, with 217,673 stocks crossing the market, Guardian Holdings dropped 75 cents to $33 in an exchange of 9,050 shares, Guardian Media remained at $3.10 in transferring 884 units. Massy Holdings popped 6 cents to $80.50 with the swapping of 2,189 stocks, National Enterprises dipped 5 cents to $3.85 with 2,000 shares clearing the market, National Flour Mills rallied 4 cents to $2.04 in switching ownership of 1,387 stocks. NCB Financial Group dipped 1 cent to $8 with 15,691 stock units changing hands, Point Lisas closed at $3.15 with an exchange of 3,000 stocks, Prestige Holdings slipped 5 cents to $7.45 in switching ownership of 2,000 shares. Republic Financial Holdings inched 1 cent higher to $135.51 in exchanging 5,229 stocks. Scotiabank shed 75 cents to end at $59 with an exchange of 168 shares, Trinidad Cement closed at $3.75 in trading 2,640 stocks and Unilever Caribbean remained at $16.33 with 12,643 units crossing the market.

Trading plunges on TTSE on Thursday

Trading ended on Thursday, with the market declining after 64 percent fewer shares with a 68 percent lower value than on Wednesday, resulting in more stocks falling than rising at the close of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange.
In the end, 17 securities traded compared to 18 on Wednesday, with three rising, five declining and nine remaining unchanged. The Composite Index fell 3.99 points 1,420.25, the All T&T Index slipped 4.72 points to 1,937.44 and the Cross-Listed Index lost 0.45 points to close 121.47.
A total of, 44,028 shares traded for $1,232,479, down from 122,999 units at $3,878,814 on Wednesday.
An average of 2,590 units traded at $72,499 compared to 6,833 at $215,490 on Wednesday. The average trade for the month to date amounts to 21,872 units at $248,086 versus 23,183 units at $260,037. The average trade for June amounts to 45,770 units at $724,455. The actual average value for June at $724,497.

At the close, Agostini’s ended at $24.55 in exchanging 940 stocks, Angostura Holdings shed 5 cents to close at $16.44, with 1,107 units crossing the exchange, Ansa Mcal remained at $60 with an exchange of 200 shares, Clico Investment Fund popped 55 cents in closing at $27.50 with an exchange of 3,685 units. First Citizens Bank fell 30 cents to $50 in an exchange of 2,031 units, GraceKennedy remained at $5.98, with 400 stock units clearing the market, Guardian Holdings lost $1.25 to end at $32.50 trading 9,997 stocks. JMMB Group closed trading at $2.05 after exchanging 1,000 shares, L.J Williams B share settled at $1.50, after 9 stock units changed hands, Massy Holdings closed at $80.60, with the swapping of 228 shares. NCB Financial Group popped 1 cent to $8.01 after 9,252 stocks crossed the exchange, Republic Financial Holdings remained at $135.50, with an exchange of 1,851 shares, Scotiabank remained at $59.75 after 1,276 units traded. Trinidad & Tobago NGL dropped 14 cents to $18 with the swapping of 7,368 stocks, Trinidad Cement rallied 10 cents to end at $3.50 with an exchange of 2,000 units, Unilever Caribbean dipped 2 cents to $16.30, with 100 units crossing the exchange and West Indian Tobacco settled at $32.49 crossing the market 2,584 shares.
