Sagicor stole show with 11.4m Shares

Sagicor Group had 11,418,503 shares trading at $11.52 as Sagicor Investments was the only broker trading the stock on behalf of clients, as well as some being bought for in house inventory purposes.
Activity on the overall market resulted in the prices of 18 stocks rising, 8 declining as 37 securities changed hands, ending in 15,580,599 units trading, valued at $163,455,688, in all market segments.
The JSE Market Index gained 621.20 lost points to 98,315.18, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index rose 694.34 points to close at 108,828.89 and the JSE combined index gained 600.84 points to end at 100,580.46.

In trading, Barita Investments exchanged 77,159 shares to close at $2.50, after shedding 20 cents, Cable & Wireless traded 353,348 units at 50 cents at the close Caribbean Cement had 102,760 shares changing hands at $5, to gain 60 cents at the close, but traded as low as $4.40. Carreras had 104,150 units trading unchanged at $49, Desnoes & Geddes gained 15 cents in trading 12,500 units at $7.50. Gleaner closed up 14 cents as 25,811 units changed hands at $1.10. All the Jamaica Producers’ 36,937 shares traded at $18.55, Jamaica Stock Exchange traded at a new all-time high of $3.65 with 10,000 units, Margaritaville traded 89,180 units at 10.5 US cents up from 10 US cents, Mayberry Investments traded 98,500 at $3, National Commercial Bank traded 15,647 shares to close with a gain of 53 cents at $30.10. Proven Investments ended with 18,320 units as the price rose to 20.99 US cents, followed by Sagicor Real Estate Fund with 202,000 shares at $7.51, Scotia Group had 673,965 shares changing hands at $25.50 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference shares with 289,776 units at $3.02.

New high for Lasco Fin & JSE

Lasco Financial Services traded at a new all- time high of $1.61 in trading 250,000 shares at $1.61, two days after Mayberry bough 20 percent of the company after the company reported profits of 15.5 cents per share for the year to March. The Jamaica Stock Exchange had 20 securities trading at 11 on Thursday accounting for 1 million units. The All Jamaican composite Index is up 86.28 points 108,220.83, the JSE index is at 97,771.17.18 gained 77.19 points and the junior market rose 4.64 to 873.36 so far 9 stocks recorded gains versus 4 that are down. There were 4 securities traded in the junior market and 16 in the main and US dollar market
In trading, Barita Investments traded 75,000 at $2.41, Gleaner Company closed up 14 cents as 10,011 changed hands at $1.10, Jamaica Stock Exchange is trading at a new all-time high of $3.65 with 10,000 units, Mayberry Investments trades with 50,300 at $3, followed by Sagicor Real Estate X Fund with 202,000 shares at $7.51, Proven Investments with 18,320 units as the price rose to 20.99 US cents and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference shares with 289,776 units at $3.02.

Activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, resulted in the prices of 16 stocks rising, 13 declining as 37 securities changed hands, ending with 7,586,383 units trading, valued at $25,926,559, and 4 stocks closed at new 52 weeks high and 1 at 52 weeks’ low, in all market segments.
TheJSE Market Index gained 195.74 points to 97,693.98, theJSE All Jamaican Composite index rose 218.85 points to close at 108,134.55 and the JSE combined index put on 298.44 points to end at 99,979.62.

Hardware & Lumber gained $1.83 to a new 52 weeks’ high of $12.08 with 33,999 units trading, Jamaica Broilers concluded trading with 55,845 shares changing hands to close 25 cent up at $5.50. Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference shares close with 434,935 units trading at $2.30, Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference shares finished trading with 30,000 at $3.02,

JMMB Group lost 45 cents as 6,094 shares changed hands at $8.55. Mayberry Investments contributed 124,080 units to trading at $3, National Commercial Bank ended trading with 97,412 shares and gained 5 cents to $29.57, Pan Jamaican Investment had 8,935 shares changing hands to close 42 cents higher, at $59.01. Radio Jamaica gained 25 cents with 24,497 shares trading at $3, Sagicor Group contributed 473,884 units in trading but lost 80 cents at $11.20. Sagicor Real Estate Fund closed trading with 178,000 units, 40 cents lower at $7.10. Scotia Group ended trading with 228,571 shares with a 15 cents gain to $25.50, Scotia Investments closed with 1,500 shares changing hands to close 45 cents up at $26.30, Sterling Investments finished trading with 57,140 shares trading at $13.39 for a loss of 1 cent and Supreme Ventures saw trading in 52,020 units to close 35 cents down at $3.60.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange had 30 securities trading at 11:35 on Wednesday accounting for 1.99 million units. The All Jamaican composite Index is up 929.28 points 108,844.98, the JSE index is at 98,329.41 gained 831.17points and the junior market rose 12.93 to 869.36. so far 12 stocks recorded gains versus 8 that are down.In trading, Hardware & Lumber traded 30,000 units at $12, up $1.75, Supreme Ventures lost 45 cents to $3.50 with 47,700 units changing hands, K.L.E. Group traded at a new low of 75 cents while dropping 24 cents with 100,000 units trading Lasco Distributors traded 300,000 units at $1.60 to gain 5 cents, Lasco Financial Services have so far traded 794,279 shares at a new 52 weeks’ high of $1.50 to gain 20 cents and Lasco Manufacturing traded 31,463 units with a gain of 3 cents to $1.28.

Markets fell as more stocks decline than rise

Pan Jam fell $1.66 on Tuesday

Activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, resulted in the prices of 11 stocks rising, 15 declining as securities changed hands, ending in 251,691,499 units trading, valued at $358,211,118, in all market segments.
TheJSE Market Index lost 996.20 points to 97,498.24, theJSE All Jamaican Composite index fell/ decline/ rose 923.95 points to close at 107,915.70 and the JSE combined index dropped 1,138.33 points to end at 99,681.18.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, in the main and junior markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows 9 stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and 6 with offers that were lower.

In trading, Cable & Wireless ended with 1,940,000 units trading between 47 cents and the last price of 50 cents to gain 3 cents, Caribbean Cement closed with 5,400 shares at $4.01, down 34 cents, Desnoes & Geddes finished trading with 69,899 shares at $7.36 after adding a cent to the price, Gleaner saw trading in 102,913 shares to close with 7 cents gains at $1.07, Grace Kennedy closed with just 7,843 units changing hands at $63 to gain 25 cents, Jamaica Broilers finished trading with 23,138 shares while losing 25 cents to $5.25, JMMB Group concluded trading with 21,250 shares to close unchanged at $9. Mayberry Investments completed trading in 1,135,000 shares at $3 by gaining 15 cents at the end, National Commercial Bank had dealings in just 9,944 units to close down 8 cents at $29.52 at the same time the stock closed up in Trinidad at the equivalent of $31.50. Pan Jamaican Investment contributed 2,150 shares to close down by $1.66 at $58.59,

Radio Jamaica gained 15 cents to end trading with 40,700 units at $2.75, for anew 52 weeks’ high. Sagicor Group closed with 1,471,642 shares at $12, after shedding 15 cents, Sagicor Real Estate Fund finished trading with 18,896 units at $7.50, for a 50 cents fall, Scotia Group ended trading with just 473 units to close at $25.35 after losing 15 cents. Seprod finished trading with 10,162 units at $18 to gain 50 cents, Supreme Ventures ended with 55,747 units at $3.95, up 35 cents. Trinidad Cement ended trading with 105 shares to close down by at $15, Proven Investments closed with 721,573 shares at 19 US cents, after losing 1.5 US cents. Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share finished trading with 350,000 units at $2.30 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share traded 199,000 shares at $3.02 and lost 3 cents.

JSE down slightly, junior up slightly

The Jamaica Stock Exchange had 14 securities trading at 10:15 on Tuesday morning, accounting for 1.567 million units. The All Jamaican composite Index is down 7.54 points 108,832.11, the JSE index is at 98,487.69 down by just 6.75 points.
In trading, Jamaica Broilers had 20,100 units trading at $5.50, Mayberry Investments has so far traded 100,000 units at $3, Sagicor Group had 555,152 shares trading at $11.42, having lost 48 cents, Proven Investments that recently traded at 21 US cents, had 444,273 units trading this morning at 18 US cents having lost 1.2 cents. Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share had 350,000 units $2.30 and Lasco Manufacturing traded 18,385 units at $1.30.

Activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, resulted in the prices of 14 stocks rising, 7 declining as 29 securities changed hands, ending in 3,995,019 units trading, valued at $28,635,285, in all market segments. A total of 3 stocks closed at new 52 weeks’ high in the main market.
TheJSE Market Index gained 111.93 points to 98,494.44, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index rose 125.14 points to close at 108,839.65 and the JSE combined index put on 244.08 points to end at 100,819.51. Close to mid-day the all Jamaican Composite index ended had gained 755.19 points added while the JSE index added 675.46 points. and the junior market index gained 20.52 points to 883.66.

Caribbean Cement traded 50,000 to close at $4.35 but traded as high as $4.80, Grace Kennedy gained 25 cents to close at $62.75 with 7,253 units trading, Hardware & Lumber traded only 3,000 units at $10.25 to $12, Jamaica Broilers had 27,400 trading as high $5.74 but closed unchanged at $5.50, JMMB Group has 955,266 units trading at $9 and gained 11 cents, Mayberry Investments traded 109,856 units to close at $2.85 with a 15 cents loss but traded previously at $3.National Commercial Bank had 100,819

shares trading at $30, Radio Jamaica traded 100,000 shares is at $2.60, Sagicor Group traded 466,995 shares with the price climbing 15 cents to $12.15. Scotia Group had 141,655 shares changing hands at $25.50 by putting on 18 cents, Proven Investments fell to 18.50 US cents with 78,150 units trading and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference shares ended with 728,100 units at $2.30 as the price slipped 10 cents.
At the close of the market Sagicor Real Estate Fund had a bid at $8.30 compared with the last sale price of $8, but only 100 units were on the bid and only one offer was posted at $10. Investors are responding to reported strong increase in profit flowing from primarily form the profit of the hotel acquired in 2014, but they may not be taking into consideration the seasonal flows of revenues and profit in the industry that see strong inflows in the winter months and lower amounts in the other months.

Activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, resulted in the prices of 9 stocks rising, 12 declining as 28 securities changed hands, ending in 1,649,208 units trading, valued at $11,833,234, in all market segments.
The JSE Market Index gained 112.16 points to 98,382.51, theJSE All Jamaican Composite index rose 125.41 points to end at 108,714.51 and the JSE combined index declined by 12.53 points to close at 100,575.43.

Margaritaville (Turks) ended with 100,000 shares trading at 10 US cents, Mayberry Investments traded just 1,020 units but lost 15 cents to end at $2.85. National Commercial Bank traded unchanged with 25,000 units at $30, Pan Jamaican traded only 1,700 shares to end with a gain of $1.19 at $60, Proven Investments closed with 17,700 units to gain almost a cent to 20.48 US cents. Radio Jamaica traded 50,000 shares unchanged at $2.58, Sagicor Group gained 50 cents in trading 135,347 units to close at $12, Scotia Group gained 36 cents with 2,190 shares trading, to end at $25.32. Scotia Investments traded only 176 units in gaining 35 cents to $25.85, Seprod lost 50 cents in trading 5,000 units at $17.50 and Supreme Ventures lost 30 cents with 10,727 units changing hands at $3.60.

Berger closed at a 52 weeks’ high of $3 on Wednesday

Wednesday was another day of more stocks rising than falling, on the Jamaica Stock Exchange but the indices fell, with the number of stocks rising, smashing those declining 20 to 8. AT the end, 35 securities changed hands, with 7 of the stocks with gains ended at 52 weeks’ high at the close. The market closed with 4,856,849 units trading, valued at $34,575,790, in all market segments.
The JSE Market Index lost just 78.06 points to 98,270.35, the JSE All Jamaican Composite index declined 87.29 points to close at 108,589.10 and the JSE combined index dropped by 142.03 points to close at 100,587.96.
IC bid-offer Indicator| At the end of trading, in the main and junior markets, the Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows stocks with bids higher than their last selling prices and with offers that were lower.

The stocks trading in the main market at new 52 weeks’ high, are, Berger Paints, Caribbean Cement, Desnoes & Geddes, Jamaica Broilers, Jamaica Producers, and Sagicor Real Estate Fund.
In trading, Berger Paints traded between $2.58 and the closing price of $3 with 80,658 shares and ended with an increase of 45 cents, Cable & Wireless had 806,875 shares trading between 42 cents and 47 cents, to close at 45 cents, with a loss of 2 cents from Tuesday’s last price. Caribbean Cement traded 1,477,569 shares between $5.50 and the final price of $5.30 to gain 30 cents, Carreras traded just 2,871 units with a gain of $1 to close at $50. Desnoes & Geddes traded 197,238 shares at $7.70 at the end, by putting on 45 cents. Grace Kennedy posted 25,988 units but lost $1.40, to end at $62.15. Jamaica Broilers put through 136,039 units and closed at $5.50, 1 cents higher than on Tuesday.

Jamaica Producers traded at $20 with a gain of $1.45 with 3,303 shares changing hands, JMMB Group lost $1.04 in trading 81,226 shares at $8.45, Mayberry Investments had 280,022 shares changing hands at $3.10 after trading at $2.85 and added 10 cents at the close. National Commercial Bank had 136,390 units with all trading at $30. Sagicor Group closed at $11.50 with 820,961 shares trading 49 cents down at the close, Sagicor Real Estate Fund had 5,880 units trading at a new high of $8 to gain 80 cents. Scotia Group traded 104,903 shares at $25.01, Proven Investments 93,007 shares at 19.5 US cents as the price slipped 1 US cent, Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share traded 145,200 units at $2.40 and Jamaica Money Market Brokers 8.75% preference share traded 199,980 units at 3.05.

JSE softens 7 up 8 down

The all Jamaican Composite Index slipped 173.68 points to be 108,502.71 at 11:30am and the JSE Index fell 149.08 points to 98,199.33 but the junior market index is up 1.47 to 884.69. A total of 22 securities traded with 1.64 million units changing hands as seven stocks rose and 8 declined. Only 4 stocks traded in the junior market so far with small volumes.
Trading in the main market has resulted in a number of ne w52 weeks’ high, these include Berger at $2.60, Desnoes & Geddes at $7.50, Jamaica Broilers at $5.50, Jamaica Producers at $20 and Sagicor Real Estate Fund at $8.
