Junior market rises

Stocks recorded gains at the close of trading on Monday on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with stocks rising to edge out declining after trading 92 percent fewer shares traded at 90 percent lower value than on Friday.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands compared to 37 on Friday and ended with prices of 14 stocks rising,  13 declining and eight remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 19.62 points to settle at 2,592.67. The average PE Ratio stands at 13.9 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of  3,562,074 shares for $11,265,090 compared to 45,521,469 units at $117,540,297 on Friday. Limners and Bards led trading with 19.3 percent of total volume after 688,265 shares traded, followed by Mailpac Group with 13.8 percent for 490,563 units and Derrimon Trading with 473,353 units for 13.3 percent market share.
Trading averaged 101,774 units at $321,860 in contrast to 1,230,310 at $3,176,765 on Friday. Month to date averaged 328,929 units at $792,188, versus 345,356 unit at $826,199 on Friday. Trading in November resulted in an average of 193,331 units at $566,885 changing hands.

At the close of the market, Access Financial climbed 3 cents to $20.35 in an exchange of 2,000 shares,  AMG Packaging increased 5 cents to $1.60, with 2,450 shares changing hands, Caribbean Cream climbed 31 cents to $4.50 after clearing the market with 98,515 stock units. Caribbean Flavours dipped 3 cents to $1.65 in exchanging 61,396 shares, Caribbean Producers fell 4 cents to $2.70 while exchanging  245,306 stock units, Derrimon Trading rose 9 cents to $2.30, with 473,353 stock units crossing the market. Dolphin Cove gained 1 cent to close at $7 in an exchange of 50,036 shares, Everything Fresh carved out a gain of 7 cents to close at 74 cents, with 8,653 units changing hands, Fontana gained 24 cents to end at $5.49, with 93,040 stocks clearing the exchange. Fosrich fell 2 cents to $4.18 after trading 5,500 shares, General Accident shed 6 cents to end at $5.98 with 137,907 stock units passing through the market, Gwest Corporation declined by 3 cents to 70 cents after 5,585 shares crossed the exchange.  Honey Bun shed 6 cents to close at $5.96 after exchanging 81,214 units, iCreate advanced 8 cents to 63 cents in exchanging 990 shares, Indies Pharma gained 11 cents to end at $2.72, with 101,245 stock units changing hands. Iron Rock Insurance increased 15 cents to $3.20 after trading 21,741 shares, Jamaican Teas declined by 12 cents to $1.93, with 108,556 units crossing the exchangechanging hands, Lasco Distributors climbed 4 cents to $3.20 with investors swapping 346,443 units. Lasco Manufacturing lost 5 cents to end at $3.75, with the trading of 152,340 units, Limners and Bards carved out a loss of 11 cents to end at $2.86 after 688,265 units crossed the market, Lumber Depot shed 7 cents to settle at $1.48, with 161,941 shares changing hands. Mailpac Group climbed 43 cents to $2.82 with investors swapping 490,563 shares, Paramount Trading advanced 9 cents to $1.44 after exchanging 20,000 stock units, SSL Venture carved out a loss of 2 cents in ending at 57 cents with investors swapping 4,955 units and Tropical Battery dropped 2 cents to end at $1.17, after trading 31,228 stocks.
In the preference segment, CAC 2000 9.5% preference share shed 1 cent in closing at $1.13 trading 988 units and Derrimon Trading preference shares advanced 10 cents to $2.10 with investors exchanging 5,000 stock units.

Alliance IPO is now

Shareholders of Alliance Financial Services will offer later this month just over 1.25 billion shares to the public for purchase at $1.59 each, for a total consideration of $1.99 billion.
The Invitation opens at 9 am on December 28 and will close at 4 pm January 11, subject to the Selling Shareholders’ right to close the issue at any time after it on the Opening Date once the shares are fully subscribed.
During its sixteen (16) years of operation, the company has grown to become a notable Cambio and remittance service provider in Jamaica.
The company reported a $709 million profit for the year to September 2020, from revenues of $1.5 billion. The 2020 profit equates to earnings per share of 11.3 cents for a PE of 14 but using the 2019 earnings the PE would have been 12.7, with both below the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market average of 17.

Mailpac dominates Junior Market

The market index tumbled 41.10 points in trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday to close at 2,573.05 after Mailpac Group led trading with 88.7 percent of total volume with the price dropping 45 cents to $2.39.
Trading resulted in 665 percent more shares than on Thursday with the value climbing 652 percent resulting in an exchange of 45,521,469 shares for $117,540,297 compared to 5,946,650 units at $15,620,193 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 1,230,310 units at $3,176,765 in contrast to 160,720 at $422,167 on Thursday. Trading month to date average 345,356 units at $826,199 compared to 272,104 units at $631,633 on Thursday. November closed with an average of 193,331 units at $566,885.
Mailpac Group exchanged 40.39 million shares followed by Honey Bun with 5.2 percent for 2.37 million units and Derrimon Trading closed with 1.6 percent market share for 749,394 units.
For a third consecutive day, trading ended with 37 securities changing hands with the prices of 12 stocks rising, 14 declining and 11 remaining unchanged.
The average PE Ratio closed at 13.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

Nearly twice the number of stocks rose on Friday to those declining at the end of trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, with the shares exchanged rising 184 percent above Thursday trades but at just 27 percent of the value.
Trading ended with 46 securities changing hands compared to 45 on Thursday and closed with the prices of 22 stocks rising, 12 declining and 12 remaining unchanged, with Ciboney trading at a 52 weeks’ high of 25 cents. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index fell by 779.17 points to 424,971.67, the Main Index shed 658.11 points to 387,995.08 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.43 points to end at 100.79.
Investors exchanged 37,661,093 shares for $245,318,135 compared to 13,243,734 units at $907,847,284 on Thursday. Wigton Windfarm led trading with 35.6 percent of total volume, after an exchange of 13.41 million shares, followed by Transjamaican Highway with 35.3 percent for 13.30 million, Mayberry Jamaican Equities with 10.6 percent for 4.0 million units. Sagicor Group with 8 percent for 3 million units and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with a 3.6 percent market share for 1.35 million units.

Juniors close above 2,600 mark

Prices of 17 stocks rose at the close of trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Thursday and helped in pushing the market index above the 2,600 points mark for the first time in December and is at the highest point since mid-August.
Trading ended with 37 securities changing hands, with nine declining and 11 remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index climbed 25.62 points to 2,614.15 and the average PE Ratio ended at 14 based on ICInsider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 76 percent more shares and 85 percent higher value than on Wednesday after 5,946,650 shares changed hands for a consideration of $15,620,193, well up from 3,383,825 units at $8,437,647 on Wednesday. Lumber Depot led trading with 27.2 percent of total volume after an exchange of 1.61 million shares followed by Fosrich with 23 percent for 1.37 million units and Derrimon Trading with 20.1 percent and the trading of 1.19 million stock units.

Slippage for JSE Main Market

Trading for the week continued to seesaw with the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market declining marginally on Thursday following Wednesday’s four-digit index fall with more stocks declining than rising after an exchange of 29 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday with 200 percent increased value.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index shed 469.19 points to 425,750.84, the Main Index lost 370.18 points to 388,653.19 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.12 points to settle at 101.22.
Similar to trading Wednesday the market close with 45 securities changing hands with prices of 14 stocks rising, 23 declining and eight remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 13,243,734 shares for $907,847,284 compared to 18,734,982 units at $302,910,320 on Wednesday. NCB Financial led trading with 45.5 percent of total volume, after exchanging 6.02 million shares followed by Wisynco Group with 8.4 percent for 1.11 million units and QWI Investments with 7.1 percent for 940,061 stock units.

Junior Market inched higher Wednesday

More stocks fell than rose on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange at the close on Wednesday, but the market inked a modest gain with the index rising 10.22 points to settle at 2,588.53.
Trading ended with 37 securities changing hands, up from 34 on Tuesday and ended with prices of 11 stocks rising, 17 declining and nine remaining unchanged.
The average PE Ratio closed at 13.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The day ended with 3,383,825 shares trading for $8,437,647 compared to 3,559,517 units at $10,255,036 on Tuesday. Lumber Depot led trading with 24.9 percent of total volume or 843,478 shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 24.8 percent of the day’s trade with 839,236 units exchanged and Jamaican Teas with 13.7 percent market share for a transfer of 462,669 units.

Market activity resulted in more stocks declining than rising at the end of trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Wednesday after an exchange of 149 percent more shares than on Tuesday and the value surging by 196 percent.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 2,513.76 points to 426,220.03, the Main Index lost 2,243.25 points to settle at 389,023.37 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.58 points to close at 101.34.

JSE Main Market climbs again

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended trading on Tuesday with gains after more stocks advanced than declined after trading accounted for 110 percent funds chasing stocks and driving the market indices higher by up to 2,000 points.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index climbed 2,008.23 points to 428,733.79, the Main Index advanced 1,833.71 points to 391,266.62 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.41 points to 101.92.
Trading ended with 43 securities changing hands for a second consecutive day and with prices of 19 stocks rising, 14 declining and 10 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 7,525,461 shares for $102,351,143 up from 7,084,366 units at $48,587,272 on Monday. Junior Market pulls back on Tuesday

The market index surged sharply on Monday, but the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange could not build on those gains in Tuesday activity and slipped 13.24 points to 2,578.31, with more stocks rising than falling as investors exchanged 74 percent fewer shares than on Monday.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 38 on Monday and concluded with the prices of 14 stocks rising, 11 declining and nine finishing unchanged. At the close, the average PE Ratio ended at 13.7 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with 3,559,517 shares trading for $10,255,036 compared to 13,471,646 units at $33,806,568 on Monday as Mailpac Group led trading with 26.4 percent of total volume for an exchange of 939,501 shares. Limners and Bards chipped in with 14.1 percent of the day’s trade resulting in a transfer of 501,415 units and Caribbean Flavours closed with 8.5 percent market share or 303,996 stocks.
Trading averaged 104,692 units at $301,619 in contrast to 354,517 at $889,647 on Monday. Trading month to date averaged 301,073 units at $692,446, compared to 320,769 units at $731,644 on Monday. November averaged 193,331 units at $566,885.
