Volume and value climb on TTSE

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange ended the week with an increase in the level of market activity compared to Thursday, with investors exchanging 232,343 shares valued at $5,720,884 compared to 69,776 shares for $1,561,748 on Thursday.
The increased volume and value of stocks trading on Friday flowed from two fewer securities than Thursday, with thirteen securities trading on Friday.  Trading ended, with two stocks advancing, three declining and eight remaining unchanged.
An average of 17,873 shares traded on Friday at $440,068. in contrast, an average of 4,652 at $104,117 changed hands on Thursday. For the month to date, the average trade was 12,712 units at $166,390versus 12,503 units at $155,307, up to Thursday.
The T&T Composite Index shed 2.32 points to end at 1,315.44, the All T&T Index dropped 4.60 points to 1,777.92, while the Cross Listed Index remained unchanged at 115.25.
IC bid-offer Indicator│ The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of two stocks higher than its last selling price and one with a lower offer.
Stocks Gaining│ Clico Investments closed 50 cents higher at $26, in exchanging 39,795 shares and National Flour gained 5 cents to finish at $1.90, with 11,000 stock units changing hands.
Stocks declining│Guardian Holdings lost 70 cents to closed at $19, after transferring 26,185 stock units, Massy Holdings slipped 2 cents trading 33,347 shares to end at $57.98 and Scotiabank was down 3 cents to $54.75, with 500 units crossing the market.
Stocks trading firmAngostura Holdings traded 370 units at $15.30, Ansa McAL closed at trading at $50, with an exchange of 200 units, Grace Kennedy transferred 95,150 shares at $3.50. Republic Financial Holdings was unchanged at $139.50, with trades of 13,076 stock units, Trinidad Cement closed with a transfer of 9,720 stock units at $2.10, Trinidad & Tobago NGL finished the week at $17.02, after exchanging 2,400 units on Friday. Unilever Caribbean closed at $16.95 trading 100 units and West Indian Tobacco ended the day’s trade at $35, with 500 units changing hands.

Trading picked-up on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday as 69,776 shares changed hands at $1,561,748, compared to mere 350,805 shares, accounting for $6,029,917 on Wednesday.
The market closed, with 15 securities changing hand, five more than on Wednesday, and resulting in the prices of five stocks rising, one declining and nine remaining unchanged.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index added 0.64 points to settle at 1,317.76, the All T&T Index rose 0.95 points to close at 1,782.52 and the Cross Listed Index inched 0.04 point to close at 115.25.
The market closed, with an average of 4,652 units traded for the day at $104,117, in contrast to an average of 43,851 at $753,740 on Wednesday. An average of 12,503 units traded at $155,307 for the month to date versus 12,888 units at $157,816.
