At the close of the market, The volume of stocks traded on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market rose 97 percent on Wednesday, with a value 14 percent lower than on Tuesday, resulting from 56 securities trading, compared to 58 on Tuesday, with 15 rising, 27 declining and 14 ending unchanged.

Palace Amusement lost $75.12 on Wednesday.

A total of 23,960,723 shares were traded for $104,197,869 versus 12,140,427 units at $121,031,433 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 427,870 shares at $1,860,676  against  209,318 shares at $2,086,749 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 212,403 units at $1,443,870 versus 192,426 units at $1,405,226 on the previous trading day. October averaged 231,243 units at $1,464,224.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 18.07 million shares for 75.4 percent of total volume, followed by JMMB Group 7.35% – 2028 with 1.73 million units for 7.2 percent of the day’s trade and JMMB Group with 929,318 units for 3.9 percent market share.
The All Jamaican Composite Index fell 453.12 points to 389,396.40, the JSE Main Index advanced 1,525.74 points to 343,681.10 and the JSE Financial Index popped 0.77 points to close at 82.14.

Rising Main market stocks beat losers

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market slipped at the end of trading on Tuesday, following an 11 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded and the 39 percent jump in value over Monday, after trading in 58 securities up from 54 on Monday, with 31 rising, 20 declining and seven ending unchanged.
A total of 12,140,427 shares were traded for $121,031,433, up from 10,954,351 units at $87,091,829 on Monday.
Trading averaged 209,318 units at $2,086,749, versus 202,858 shares at $1,612,812 on Monday and month to date, an average of 192,426 units at $1,405,226, compared to 190,632 units at $1,332,830 on the previous day. October closed with an average of 231,243 units at $1,464,224.
Transjamaican Highway led trading with 3.05 million shares for 25.1 percent of total volume, followed by Wigton Windfarm with 2.57 million units for 21.2 percent of the day’s trade and QWI Investments with 1.26 million units for 10.4 percent market share.
The All Jamaican Composite Index fell 629.97 points to 389,849.52, the JSE Main Index shed 570.04 points to 342,155.36 and the JSE Financial Index dipped 0.57 points to 81.37.

Main Market stocks mostly fell on the Jamaica Stock Exchange in trading on Monday accompanied by a 42 percent increase in the volume of stocks traded but with 18 percent less value than on Friday, after 54 securities traded compared to 53 on Friday, with prices of just ten rising, 30 declining and 14 unchanged.

Trading picked up sharply on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Thursday, but that was insufficient to prevent a fall in the market after the volume of stocks traded jumped 183 percent and the value surged 357 percent over trading on Wednesday, after 52 securities were traded down from 56 on Wednesday, leading to prices of 19 rising, 22 declining and 11 ending unchanged.
A total of 12,082,376 shares were exchanged for $88,446,679 up from 4,265,895 units at $19,430,399 on Wednesday.
Trading on Thursday averaged 232,353 units at $1,700,898, up from 76,177 shares at $345,971 on Wednesday and month to date, an average of 194,550 units at $1,216,524 versus 189,470 units at $1,151,441 on the previous day. October closed with an average of 231,243 units at $1,464,224.

A total of 10,072,258 shares were exchanged for $74,070,561 against 13,269,863 units at $57,335,875 on Thursday.

Down day for JSE Main Market

The Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange pulled back on Thursday, with more stocks prices declining than rising even as the volume of stocks traded more than doubled with a 231 percent increase as 34 percent greater value passed through the market than on Wednesday, with 56 securities trading up from 53 on Wednesday, with 17 rising, 23 declining and 16 ending unchanged.
A total of 13,269,863 shares were exchanged for $57,335,875 versus 4,010,188 units at $42,902,377 on Wednesday.
Trading on Thursday averaged 236,962 units at $1,023,855 versus 75,664 shares at $809,479 on Wednesday and month to date, an average of 166,859 units at $977,324 compared to 130,510 units at $953,197 on the previous trading day. October closed with an average of 231,243 units at $1,464,224.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 5.77 million shares for 43.5 percent of total volume, Transjamaican Highway followed with 2.88 million units for 21.7 percent of the day’s trade and Pulse Investments with 1.55 million units for 11.7 percent market share.

The All Jamaican Composite Index dipped 2,217.91 points to 394,298.42, the JSE Main Index declined 1,738.67 points to 344,902.91 and the JSE Financial Index dropped 0.72 points to settle at 82.56.

Jamaica Producers rose $2.80 to finish at $20.60 with the swapping of 2,795 units, JMMB Group advanced 70 cents to close at $37.30 with 23,906 stocks clearing the market, Kingston Wharves lost 50 cents to settle at $37 with 54,906 units changing hands. Mayberry Jamaican Equities rose 87 cents in closing at $13 in switching ownership of 200 stock units, PanJam Investment dipped $1.50 to end at $54.50 after closing with 1,491 shares clearing the market, Sagicor Group dropped $1.10 to $50 after the trading of 29,692 units. Scotia Group fell $2.40 to close at $33 in an exchange of 87,784 stock units, Seprod shed $3.45 to end at $67.50 with investors transferring 8,839 shares, Supreme Ventures dropped 76 cents in closing at $26.70 in an exchange of 8,082 stocks and Victoria Mutual Investments fell 41 cents to end at $4.19 with a transfer of 80,815 stock units.

Trading plunges on the JSE Main market

The volume of stocks trading on Wednesday dropped 60 percent and the value was 28 percent lower than on Tuesday, following trading in 53 securities compared to Tuesday with 21 rising, 8 declining and 14 ending unchanged.
A total of 4,010,188 shares were exchanged for $42,902,377 versus 10,084,883 units at $60,042,941 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 75,664 units at $809,479 versus 183,361 shares at $1,091,689 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 130,510 units at $953,197. October closed with an average of 231,243 units at $1,464,224.
JMMB Group 7.35% – 2028 led trading with 1.08 million shares for 26.9 percent of total volume followed by Wigton Windfarm with 857,861 units for 21.4 percent of the day’s trade and Pulse Investments with 853,000 units for 21.3 percent market share.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rose 126.73 points to 396,516.33, the JSE Main Index gained 596.57 points to 346,641.58 and the JSE Financial Index dipped 0.15 points to settle at 83.28.

Jamaica Producers advanced 53 cents to $17.80 in exchanging 2,355 stocks, Kingston Wharves fell 40 cents in closing at $37.50 with 4,217 stock units clearing the market, Massy Holdings dropped $1.04 after ending at $79.96 in an exchange of 352 units. Mayberry Jamaican Equities dipped $1.69 to end at $12.13 trading 3,581 stock units, 138 Student Living shed 98 cents to close at $5.52 in an exchange of 25 stocks, Proven Investments gained $1.90 to end at $32 after 12,646 shares cleared the market.
