The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, ceded some grounds to close out Tuesday ‘s trading. Advancing stocks being just below decliners.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index lost 118.15 points to close at 213,521.41 and is just 9 points adrift from the all-time high reached on January 6. The JSE Market Index slipped 105.65 points to finish at 195,300.68 and the JSE combined index fell 50.23 points to close at 209,536.40.
The market closed with 40 securities changing hands, 16 stocks gained and 11 declined in the overall market, including 6 stocks rising and 5 falling, in the junior market.
At the close with 4,982,675 units valued at $90,430,065 changed hands, compared to 24,599,887 units valued at $157,873,358 changing hands on Monday. Of the stocks traded, the junior market accounted for 1,234,173 units, changing hands, valued at $7,873,809.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 138,833 shares compared to an average of 688,233 units traded on Monday. The average for the month to date, is 489,448 versus 840,062 units on the previous trading day, well below the average of 549,379 units, December ended with.

Jamaican stock indices eased again on Friday

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, lost some more grounds at the close on Friday but the junior market hit a new closing high, even as advancing stocks beat out declining ones 2 to 1.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index , fell 208.15 points to close at 210,989.85 The JSE Market Index lost 186.11 points to finish at 193,037.02. Thanks to moderate gains in the junior market, the JSE combined index fell by a smaller 107.92 points to close of 207,369.22.
The market closed with 44 securities changing hands, 1stocks gained and 11 declined in the overall market, including 11 stocks rising and 5 falling, in the junior market.
At the close with 34,147,320 units valued at $169,240,005 changed hands, compared to 6,801,958 units valued at $105,007,240 changing hands on Thursday. Of the stocks traded, the junior market accounted for 1,879,103 units, changing hands, valued at $12,784,650.

The gains obscure the nearly even advance decline ratio of stocks traded.
The JSE Market Index grew by 567.25 points to finish at a record closing high of 179,228.98. The JSE combined index rose 237.54 points to end at 190,880.57 with a gain for the year to date of 20.5 percent.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market pulled back slightly from the record close on Wednesday at $9 even as National Commercial Bank traded at a new intraday high of $58, with 4.8 million units trading.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index lost 333.38 points to close at 191,454.46, with the year to date gains at 14 percent. The JSE Market Index fell 298.11 points to finish at 172,236.12 and the JSE combined index eased by 15.03 points to end at 185,121.93 with a gain for the year to date of 17 percent.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market surged on Wednesday as movement in National Commercial Bank shares between Tuesday and today help drive the All Jamaican index by 1,682 points to a new all-time closing high. Trading volume rose above Tuesday’s levels but with a lower dollar value.
At the close the All Jamaica Composite Index climbed 1,682.71 points to close at 191,787.84, with the year to date gains at 13 percent. The JSE Market Index rose 1,504.65 points to finish at 172,534.23 and the JSE combined index gained 996.34 points to end at 185,136.96 with a gain for the year to date of 17 percent.
At the close 5,034,107 units valued at $28,268,540 changed hands, compared to 3,554,573 units valued at $49,191,747 changing hands on Tuesday. The junior market accounted for 1,885,054 units trading valued at $7,271,634 of the stocks traded.

The main market indices of the Jamaica Stock Exchange made good gains on Friday with the all Jamaica Composite Index jumping 1,541.96 points to 186,839.79. The JSE Market Index climbed 1,378.78 points to finish at 168,109.77 and the JSE combined index surged 1,558.73 points to end at 180,868.53 and gained at 14 percent for the year to date.
At the close 9,303,791 units valued at $32,857,021 changed hands, compared to 4,739,909 units valued at $93,941,257 changing hands on Thursday. The junior market accounted for 865,115 units trading valued at 3,986,807 of the stocks traded.
The average trade for the day in the main market ended at 337427 units, compared to an average for the month to date of 251,850 units. On Thursday, an average of 153,615 units, compared to an average for the month to date of 166,273.
