More losses for JSE on Tuesday

Exchange place The Jamaica Stock Exchange suffered more losses on Tuesday with declining stocks having the upper hand on advancing stocks as 42 securities changed hands, in all market segments. The market ended with 8 stocks rising and 20 declining. One of the stock rising closed at 52 week’s high.
The market closed with 4,118,840 units valued at $45,574,795 changing hands in all markets. The junior market accounted for 1,469,331 units, valued at $8,265,286 units changing hands.
The JSE Market Index fell 385.51 points to end at 152,203.76, the all Jamaica Composite Index dropped 431.14 points to end at 169,051.16 and the JSE combined index lost 1,317.86 points, to close at 159,763.33.

JSE’s in modest trading early Tuesday

Trading the Jamaican Stock Exchange is off to another slow start in the JSE intra 05-04-16Tuesday morning session with only moderate volumes being exchanged. An average of 27,804 units traded per active stock with Jamaica Broilers accounting for 236,339 units and Proven ordinary share accounting for 176,325 units.
A total of 30 securities, accounting for only 834,118 shares changed hands at 10.45 am as 9 stocks gained and 8 declined.
The main market indices and the juniors recorded losses as the markets continue to vacillate with no clear direction yet in sight. The market saw all Jamaica Composite Index falling 75.46 points to 169,406.84, the JSE Market Index fell 67.48 points to 152,521.79 the JSE combined index ending with a loss of 373.17 points to 160,809.64 and the junior market index 20.37 points to 1,884.34.
