Juniors rise on low volumes – Friday
The volume of stocks traded declined sharply on Friday by 83 percent from Thursday’s level and ending with 175,408 units changing hands, valued at $782,192, down 85 percent from $5,281,239 on Thursday.

An average of 11,694 units with an average value of $52,146 traded, compared to 72,603 units with an average value of $377,231 on the preceding trading day. The average for the month to date is 52,146 units for an average of $108,825 compared to 114,221 units valued at $648,781 on Thursday and 129,138 units with an average value of $709,705 for October.
In trading activity, Caribbean Cream closed with 6,000 shares changing hands and lost 14 cents to $7, Caribbean Producers lost 5 cents in trading 200 units at $3.40, C2W Music traded 4,047 units at 25 cents, General Accident gained 15 cents and closed trading with 16,852 units at $3, Honey Bun with 8,500 shares changing hands, closed at $5.60. ISP Finance traded just 200 shares to end at an all-time high of $8, Jamaican Teas traded 1,340 shares to close at $4.10, with a rise of 11 cents.Jetcon Corporation closed with 1,900 units changing hands at $5, Key Insurance traded 6,783 shares with a gain of 20 cents to end at $2.35, Knutsford Express traded 934 units at $20, Lasco Distributors gained 20 cents with 2,200 shares changing hands, to close at $6.80, Lasco Financial rose 5 cents and ended with 6,860 shares changing hands at $3.20. Lasco Manufacturing closed at $4.70 with 105,000 shares changing hands, Paramount Trading gaine 40 cents with 8,894 units changing hands to close at $3.50 and tTech traded 5,698 shares but fell 75 cents to $5.
Junior market drops sharply – Tuesday
The volume of stocks traded dropped sharply on Tuesday with the volume rose moderately by 16 percent from Monday’s level and ending with just 215,605 units changing hands, valued at $946,789, down 25 percent from $1,256,517 on Monday.
Market activities ended with 8 securities closing with bids higher than their last selling prices and 2 ending with lower offers.
An average of 16,500 units with an average value of $67,628 traded, compared to 20,615 units with an average value of $139,613 on the preceding trading day. The average for the month to date is 115,706 units for an average of $674,569 compared to 122,319 units valued at $715,032 on Monday and 129,138 units with an average value of $709,705 for October.

Jetcon Corporation fell 30 cents and closed with 10,400 units changing hands at $4.90, KLE Group declined 5 cents and ended with 4,000 shares trading at $1.50, Knutsford Express lost $2 in trading 485 shares to close at $20, Lasco Distributors rose 40 cents with 26,785 shares changing hands, to close at $6.90. Lasco Financial gained 8 cents and ended with 18,751 shares changing hands at $3.08, Lasco Manufacturing lost 9 cents and closed at $4.71 with 44,400 shares changing hands, Paramount Trading dropped 45 cents with 53,334 units changing hands to close at $3.50. tTech rose 55 cents and ended with 11,996 shares changing hands at $5.75, Derrimon Trading preference share rose 15 cents ending with 20,500 units changing hands to close at $2.25 and Eppley 9.5% preference share, traded 500 units at $6.18.
Juniors’ volume jumps 2,755% – Monday
Victoria Mutual Wealth Management was involved in a series of large volume of crossed trades that helped in a major way to boost the level of trading.
An average of 352,499 units with an average value of $1,921,358 traded, compared to 18,046 units with an average value of $108,198 on the preceding trading day. The average for the month to date, amounts to 151,789 units at $836,063.
At the close of the market on 18 securities traded, versus 13 on Friday resulting in 6 stocks advancing and 6 declining stocks as 1 stock hit a new high. The market index rose 4.24 points to 2,376.04 to be up 33 percent for the year to date.

Knutsford Express ended at $23 with 8,500 shares changing hands, Lasco Distributors traded 250,864 units trading with a loss of 16 cents at $6.83, Lasco Financial lost 1 cent and ended with 99,572 shares changing hands at $3.09, Lasco Manufacturing rose 7 cents and closed at $4.86 with 9,123 shares trading. Medical Disposables rose 40 cents to close at $5 with 1,335,514 shares changing hands, Paramount Trading lost 12 cents to close at $23.88 with 113,273 shares changing hands and Eppley 9.5% preference share, traded 819,800 units and fell 14 cents to $6.16.
JSE majors gains juniors slip
Trading on the main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange saw the market indices rising and the junior index slipping slightly after 45 minutes of trading on Thursday. The ratio of advancing stocks to declining ones was virtually even.
Up to 10:45 am, JMMB Group traded at a new 52 weeks’ high of $14.55 with 60,300 shares changing hands, Caribbean Cream fell 99 cents and last traded at $9.01 with 48,577 units changing hands but the stock traded at $10 initially, ISP Finance Services traded at a new high of $7 with 51,809 shares changing hands, Lasco Financial Services had 116,838 units trading at $3.30 and JMMB Group 7.50% traded 180,000 units at $1.10.
A total of 30 securities traded, resulting in a volume of 821,407 shares changing hands carrying a value of $7,914,772, compared to 1,437,120 shares changing hands carrying a value of $26,771,116 on Wednesday. The average number of shares traded amounts to 27,380 units compared to 51,326 on Wednesday. Market activity resulted in 10 stock falling while the prices of 9 securities rose.
The all Jamaica Composite Index rose 475.52 points to 185,454.27, the Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index gained 425.19 points to 166,870.87, the Jamaica Stock Exchange combined index climbed 355.34 points to close at 179,703.50 and the junior market index declined 3.80 points to 2,428.63.
5 junior stocks rise 4 fall – Friday
Trading ended with 844,487 units changing hands, 54 percent less than on Thursday, while the value traded dropped 41 percent from Thursday, with $5,439,011 changing hands on Friday. At the close 5 stocks gained, while 4 declined out of 12 securities that traded, down from 19 on Thursday.

Honey Bun traded 4,000 units and gained 2 cents to end at $5.52, Jamaican Teas rose 60 cents in trading just 1,133 shares to close at $4 but was on offer to sell 3,900 units at $3.80, Lasco Distributors ended with 689,330 shares changing hands and gained 35 cents to close at $7.05. Lasco Financial had just 100 shares changing hands at $3.50, for a loss of 2 cents, Lasco Manufacturing closed at $4.50 with 10,128 shares trading and tTech rose 25 cents in trading 1,500 shares at $5.25.
Stocks to watch in the coming week are AMG Packaging, Blue Power, Cargo Handlers, Caribbean Cream, Honey Bun, ISP Finance, Jetcon, Knutsford Express, Lasco Financial, Paramount and tTech. The supplies for most of these stocks have pretty much dried up around current prices.
