Junior Market activities ended on Monday with 26 securities changing hands, from 29 on Friday, resulting in an exchange of 883,148 units valued at $4,794,911 compared to 2,703,365 units valued at $18,646,706 on Friday.
At the close, the market index gained 37.52 points to close at 3,411.59, resulting from gains in 9 securities and declines in 11 while the prices of 7 remained unchanged and moving the market’s average PE to 12.6.
Trading ended with an average of 33,967 units for an average of $184,420 in contrast to 93,219 units for an average of $642,990 on Friday. In contrast, November closed with an average of 120,579 shares at $506,880 for each security exchanged

Honey Bun closed 50 cents higher at $7.50, with 63,788 stock units crossing the exchange, Indies Pharma traded 5,536 shares and rose 25 cents and close at $3.35. ISP Finance traded 302 shares after falling 31 cents to end at $31.99, KLE Group gained 13 cents in trading of 200 units at $1.53, Lasco Distributors closed trading of 9,000 units and gained 40 cents to end at $3.90. Lasco Financial closed trading of 17,100 units and shed 9 cents to end at $4.41, Lasco Manufacturing exchanged 171,733 shares, after rising 17 cents to end at $5.22, Limners and Bards lost 5 cents and traded 7,500 shares at $2.95. Big jump in Honey Bun profit

Another major milestone in Honey Bun’s brief history of listing on the JSE Junior Market was reached at the end of the 2019 fiscal year, ending in September, with record revenues and profit.
The full-year results show pretax profit rising 73 percent to $183 million versus $106 million in 2018 and profit after tax rising 67 percent to hit $157 million from a 17 percent rise in revenues to $1.54 billion. Revenues grew even faster in the final quarter by 20.4 percent improvement over the 18.9 that revenues grew in the third quarter over 2018.
The results benefited from improved efficiency with cost sales rising well below the growth in revenues, with input cost increasing 12 percent for the year, driving gross profit margin to 48 percent, an improvement from the 46 percent in 2018. Selling and Distribution expenses rose 16 percent to $250 million from $214, Administrative Cost excluding depreciation rose 18 percent $284 million from $249 million.
Earnings per share rose to 33 cents in the just concluded year from just 18 cents in 2018. Importantly, the company is on the way to earn 70 cents per share for 2020 for a profit of $335 million and should go on to earn $1 per share or $490 million in 2021 and $1.30 or $600 million in the following year when the tax concession for half the regular rate ends.

One Honey Bun’s Products.

The company is benefitting from a capital expenditure of $330 million spent over the last two years to expand the factory and bring manufacturing under one location as well as an expansion of product range. The operations generated gross cash flow of $230 million up from $145 million in 2018.
Shareholders’ equity climbed to $741 million from $618 million. Current assets increased from $209 million to $353 million with net current assets ending at $185 million from $89 million in 2018. Cash and cash equivalents stood at $193 million, up from $100 million, but the company has Investments of $92 million comprising quoted shares and money market instruments treated as non-current assets.
The company manufacture and distributes baked products for the local and export markets.
The stock receives the IC BUY RATED seal of approval. The stock traded at $7 on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market for a PE of 10.

Lasco Manufacturing ended with a loss of 1 cent at $5.19 with 59,007 stock units changing hands, Medical Disposables closed 70 cents higher at $7.45, in trading 1,000 stock units, Stationery and Office Supplies traded 2,000 stock units and gained 6 cents to end at $11.06 and SSL Venture climbed 20 cents and exchanged 23,600 shares at $1.50.

Junior Market trading drops

Consolidated Bakeries (Purity) traded at a 52 weeks’ low on Wednesday.

Trading activity on the Junior Market on Wednesday declined sharply to just 1,131,976 units valued at $4,612,663, compared to 12,854,412 units amounting to $57,700,892 on Tuesday as 31 securities changed hands, down from 29 on Tuesday.
At the close, the market index rose 5.29 points to close at 3,313.68. At the close on Tuesday, the JSE had the market closing at 3,349.46 points, but it was revised down to 3,308.68. Trading resulted in just 6 securities rising and 12 declining while the prices of 13 remained unchanged and the market’s PE stood at 14.2.
Trading ended with an average of 36,515 units at $148,796 for each security traded, in contrast to 443,256 units for an average of $1,989,686 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 182,254 shares at $627,201 and previously 135,292 shares at $667,284, for each security traded. In contrast, October closed with an average of 186,927 units valued at $788,734 for each security traded.

Derrimon Trading ended with 126,975 shares crossing the exchange, after rising 3 cents to end at $2.60, Elite Diagnostic close with a loss of 26 cents at $4.99, in swapping 56,515 stock units, Everything Fresh climbed 6 cents and exchanged 36,968 shares at $1.08. Express Catering closed with a loss of 30 cents at $6, after swapping of 12,500 shares, Fontana ended with a loss of 1 cent at $6.99 with 111,225 stock units changing hands, Fosrich climbed 1 cent and exchanged 34,329 shares at $4.76, General Accident dropped $1.59 in trading 6,500 shares to close at $6.41. iCreate climbed 1 cent and exchanged 110,353 shares at 61 cents, Jamaican Teas exchanged 26,121 units and declined 35 cents to settle at $5.95, Jetcon Corporation closed trading of 6,200 units and gained 15 cents to end at $1.95, KLE Group ended with a loss of 1 cent at $1.75 with 4,000 stock units changing hands. Lasco Distributors traded 15,626 stock units and declined by 30 cents to settle at $3.60, Lasco Financial ended market activity exchanging 64,860 shares to close at $4 after falling 18 cents, Lasco Manufacturing lost 3 cents in trading of 25,880 units at $5.22 and Main Event climbed 15 cents and exchanged 42,877 shares at $6.05.

Sharp rise in Junior Market trading

Trading on the Junior Market surged on Tuesday with an exchange of 12,854,412 units amounting to $57,700,892, compared to 1,518,746 units valued $8,756,192 on Monday as 29 securities changed hands, down from 34 on Monday.
At the close, the market index rose 14.97 points to close at 3,308.39 after pushing the prices of 10 securities lower and 8 higher while leaving the prices of 11 unchanged and the market’s PE at 13.8.
Trading ended with an average of 443,256 units for an average of $1,989,686 in contrast to 44,669 units for an average of $257,535 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 135,292 shares at $667,284 and previously 109,101 shares at $554,821, for each security traded. In contrast, October closed with an average of 186,927 units valued at $788,734 for each security traded.

Fontana closed 16 cents higher at $7, with 137,572 stock units trading, General Accident climbed $1.50 to end at $8 with an exchange of 46,000 stock units, GWest Corporation closed with a loss of 3 cents at 95 cents, in swapping of 4,342 shares, iCreate fell 9 cents in trading of 28,984 units at 60 cents.
