Slippage for JSE majors on Tuesday

Advancing and declining stocks were almost evenly balanced at the end of market activity on Tuesday, but with rising stocks having the edge after the volume of shares traded and the value fell 14 percent and 26 percent respectively compared to Monday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on a day of low volume that attracted relatively small sum.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index declined 1,326.49 points to 463,119.12, the JSE Main Index dropped 3,307.14 points to 423,909.26 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.84 points to 104.29.
Trading ended with 51 stocks, up from 46 on Monday, with 22 rising, 20 declining and nine remaining unchanged. The PE Ratio, a measure that determines an appropriate relative value of each stock, averages 16.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
The market closed with 6,642,522 shares trading for $52,483,080, down from 7,760,356 units at $70,527,298 on Monday. QWI Investments led trading with 29.1 percent of total volume for an exchange of 1.93 million shares followed by Transjamaican Highway with 19.7 percent for 1.31 million units and Wigton Windfarm 13.4 percent with 891,752 units changing hands.
Trading averaged 130,246 units at $1,029,080, compared to 168,703 shares at $1,533,202 on Monday. Trading month to date averages 126,120 units at $1,521,948, in contrast to 124,689 units at $1,692,944 on Monday. June ended with an average of 249,610 units at $3,877,606.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator reading has thirteen stocks ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and eight with lower offers.

Sagicor Group rose 49 cents to $56.50 in switching ownership of 140,317 stock units. Scotia Group shed 50 cents to end at $40, with 8,550 units changing hands, Seprod picked up 50 cents in ending at $72, with 46,730 shares clearing the market and Supreme Ventures gained 30 cents to close at $19.40 with the swapping of 12,519 stock units.
In the preference segment, JMMB Group 7.15% – 2028 share lost 15 cents in ending at $3.35 with an exchange of 16 units and Productive Business Solutions 9.75% preference share spiked $4.89 to $105 after investors cleared the market of 93 stock units.
In the Corporate Bond market COLOSSAL 4.25% FR2022 traded 300,000 units at $100.72409 with a gain of 72 cents.

JSE Main Market up on reduced trades

Market activity ended on Monday with fewer securities trading than on Friday and the market rising after more stocks advanced than declined and 35 percent more shares valued 44 percent changed hands compared to Friday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index rose 528.55 points to close at 464,445.61, the JSE Main Index surged 3,053.18 points to 427,216.40 and the JSE Financial Index popped 0.97 points to 105.13.
Trading ended with 46 securities compared to 50 on Friday, with 25 stocks rising, 16 declining and five remaining unchanged. The PE Ratio, a measure that determines an appropriate relative value of each stock, averages 16.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
Trading ended with 7,760,356 shares for $70,527,298 versus 5,760,799 units at $127,050,791 on Friday. Wigton Windfarm led trading with 35.6 percent of the volume after exchanging 2.76 million shares, followed by Sagicor Select Financial Fund 20.3 percent, with 1.57 million units and JMMB Group 10.2 percent, after an exchange of 792,910 units.

Prices softened on JSE Main Marke

Two stocks declined for every one that rose at the close of market activity on Friday, but the All Jamaican Composite eked out gains with 20 percent more shares traded valued 148 percent more than on Thursday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rose 743.96 points to 463,917.06, the JSE Main Index dropped 2,388.16 points to end at 424,163.22 and the JSE Financial Index lost 1.03 points to 104.16.
A total of 50 securities were traded compared to 51 on Thursday, with 13 stocks rising, 26 declining and 11 remaining unchanged. The PE Ratio, a measure that determines an appropriate relative value of each stock, averages 16.9 based on ICInsider.com forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
The market closed with 5,760,799 shares trading for $127,050,791, up from 4,808,070 units at $51,284,621 on Thursday. Pulse Investments led trading with 17 percent of total volume after trading 977,680 shares, followed by Wigton Windfarm 13 percent with 749,981 units and Scotia Group with 10.9 percent for 625,364 units.
Trading averaged 115,216 units at $2,541,016, compared to 94,276 shares at $1,005,581 on Thursday. Trading month to date averages 104,642 units at $1,765,697. June closed with an average of 249,610 units at $3,877,606.

Sharp jump to close month for JSE majors

At the midway point for 2021 Jamaican stocks are up just under 7 percent those listed Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market at the close of trading on Wednesday after the index rebounded as more stocks rose than declined, with an exchange of 26 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rallied 5,655.18 points to 462,541.00, the JSE Main Index surged 6,000.74 points to end at 425,564.15 and the JSE Financial Index picked up 1.38 points to end at 105.07.

US Dollar Market slips on Tuesday

Trading was mixed at the closed on Tuesday with five securities changing hands, down from seven on Monday with of one stock rising, three declining and one closing unchanged on the US dollar market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, as investors exchanged 92 percent more shares than on Monday for 53 percent less value.  
The JSE USD Equity Index fell 1.75 points to close at 193.78. The PE Ratio, a measure that determines an appropriate relative value of each stock, averaged 12 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
Overall, 514,569 shares traded for US$8,228 compared to 267,871 units at US$17,654 on Monday.
Trading averaged 102,914 units at US$1,646, in contrast to 38,267 shares at US$2,522 on Monday. Month to date trades average 75,689 units at US$3,890 in contrast to 74,537 units at US$3,985 on Tuesday. May ended with an average of 138,035 units for US$17,391.

Another big hit for JSE stocks

Stocks got clobbered for a second day, with the All Jamaican Composite Index tumbling 7,500.40 points to 456,885.82, following on Monday’s more than 7,000 points fall. The JSE Main Index dropped 5,985.17 points to end at 419,563.41 and the JSE Financial Index shed just 1.18 points to 103.69 as activity ended on Tuesday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market after the volume of shares exchange dived 50 percent, while the value surged 109 percent compared to Monday.
Trading ended with 50 securities compared to 51 on Monday, with 17 rising, 21 declining and 12 remaining unchanged. The PE Ratio, a measure that determines an appropriate relative value stocks, averages 16.9 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
Trading concluded  on Tuesday with 9,510,633 shares for $151,206,424 compared to 18,854,189 stock units at $72,201,390 on Monday. Big drop for JSE majors – Monday

Stocks suffered a big reversal at the close of trading on Monday with the market after stock prices fell twice as much as those that rose, with the value of stocks trading dropping 60 percent with marginally lighter volume compared to trading on Friday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market.
The All Jamaican Composite Index plunged 7,165.97 points to 464386.22, the JSE Main Index dived 5,561.25 points to 425,548.58, while the JSE Financial Index slipped just 2.42 points to 104.87. Trading ended with 51 securities compared to 48 on Friday, with 13 stocks rising, 25 declining and 13 remaining unchanged.

Most JSE USD stocks fell on Monday

Trading on the USD market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange was moderate on Monday but the number of securities rose over Friday’s level and leading to an exchange of 52 percent more shares changing hands than occurred on Friday.
Seven securities traded, up from four on Friday with one rising, four declining and two remaining unchanged. The JSE USD Equity Index gained 0.07 points to end at 195.53.
The PE Ratio, a measure that determines an appropriate relative value of each stock, averaged 12.2 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2021-22 earnings.
Trading ended with, 267,871 shares for US$17,654, up from 176,171 units at only US$2,551 on Friday. Trading averaged 38,267 units at US$2,522 in contrast to 44,043 shares at US$638 on Friday. Trading month to date averages 74,637 units at US$3,985 in contrast to 76,931 units at US$4,078 on Friday. May ended with an average of 138,035 units for US$17,391.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows no stock ending with bids higher than their last selling prices and two with lower offers.

Mixed trading for JSE Main Market

Market activity ended Friday, with the All Jamaican Composite being the only major index of the Main market to rise following a 141 percent spike in the volume of shares traded with the value climbing 98 percent higher than on Thursday at the close of Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market.
The All Jamaican Composite Index sprung 2,108.95 points higher to 471,552.19, the JSE Main Index fell 623.96 points to end at 431,109.83 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.23 points to 107.29.
Trading ended with 48 securities similar to Thursday, with 19 stocks rising, 16 declining and 13 remaining unchanged. The PE Ratio, a measure that determines an appropriate relative value of each stock, averages 17.1 based on ICInsider.com’s 2021-22 earnings forecast.
At the close, 19,122,031 shares traded for $179,348,158 versus 7,921,981 units at $90,793,813 on Thursday. Wigton Windfarm dominated trading with 66.1 percent of total volume after trading 12.63 million shares, followed by Transjamaican Highway 7.6 percent, with 1.46 million units and QWI Investments 5.2 percent, with 985,428 units changing hands.
Trading averaged 398,376 units at $3,736,420, compared to 165,041 shares at $1,891,538 on Thursday. Trading month to date averages 247,075 units at $4,093,190, in contrast to 238,979 units at $4,112,281 on Thursday. May ended with an average of 439,937 units at $4,698,961.

Kingston Wharves spiked $3.50 to $50 in exchanging 104,631 shares, Margaritaville shed 65 cents at $13.60 with 3,233 units crossing the market, NCB Financial fell $1.95 to $143 after trading 23,105 shares, Palace Amusement rose $1 to $1,175 in transferring 177 units, Pan Jam Investment surged $3.84 to $68.84 in switching 3,770 stock units. Portland JSX sprung 61 cents higher to $9.41 with 948 units changing hands, Proven Investments shed 37 cents to close at $35.02 in trading 20,407 stocks, Sagicor Group dived $4.23 to $58.61, with 267,469 shares clearing the market, Stanley Motta gained 25 cents to close at $5.90 with an exchange of 68,437 stocks, Sterling Investments rallied 20 cents to $3 with 973 stock units changing hands and Wisynco Group popped 49 cents higher to $15.98 in trading 176,609 shares.
In the preference segment, Eppley 8.25% dipped 30 cents to end at $6.60 after trading 754 units.
