Rising prices were the most notable feature of the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange in trading on Monday and leading to minor gains in the Composite Index and the All T&T Index.
At the close of the market, the Composite Index moved 0.29 points higher to 1,407.39. The All T&T Index rose 0.57 points to 1,749.51, while the Cross Listed Index closed unchanged at 144.43.
Trading ended with 12 securities changing hands compared to 14 on Friday, with 5 advancing, one declining and 6 remaining unchanged as 309,818 shares changed hands at $14,030,851, compared to 282,910 shares changing hands at $5,955,009 on Friday.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with one stock closing with the bid higher than the last selling price and one with a lower offer.
Gains| First Citizens Bank closed with a gain of 10 cents in settling at $40.20, with 2,420 stock units changing hands, Massy Holdings gained 2 cents and completed trading of 217,146 shares at $54.52. NCB Financial gained 4 cents after exchanging 2,300 units at $10.59, Republic Financial added 15 cents and closed at $122, in swapping 437 shares and Trinidad & Tobago NGL exchanged 10,137 units and gained 49 cents to close at $25.50.
Losses| West Indian Tobacco shed 32 cents and concluded trading of 1,100 shares at $104.
Firm Trades| Clico Investment Fund closed at $24, with 45,260 stock units trading, First Caribbean International Bank completed trading of 500 stock units at $9.25, Guardian Holdings closed at $18.25, with investors exchanging 25,333 shares. Sagicor Financial exchanged 3,512 shares to end at $10.20, Scotiabank settled at $59, after exchanging 858 shares and Trinidad Cement closed at $2.04, with 815 units crossing the exchange.
