Junior Market drops on Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on  Wednesday, declined after more stocks fell than rose, with investors trading 45 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands compared to 27  on Tuesday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, 15 stocks declining and seven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 21.63 points to settle at 2,520.48, with the average PE Ratio of the market ending at 10.2 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,689,114 shares for $4,189,210  compared to 3,067,663 units at $10,483,436 on Tuesday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 517,864 shares for 30.7 percent of total volume, followed by Caribbean Producers with 204,759 units for 12.1 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 153,113 units for 9.1 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 56,304 units at $139,640 in contrast to 113,617 at $388,275 on Tuesday. The average trade for the month to date resulted in an exchange of 128,736 units at $368,689, in comparison to 135,090 units at $388,781 on Tuesday. Trading in July resulted in 248,153 units at $668,727 changing hands.

Fontana closed 4 cents higher at $4.99 in an exchange of 47,715 stock units, General Accident fell 57 cents to $5.93, with 67,329  stocks traded, Honey Bun lost 8 cents to end at $5.01 after exchanging 3,918 shares. iCreate lost 4 cents to finish at 61 cents with investors transferring 115,000 stock units, Iron Rock Insurance fell 10 cents to $3.10 with 100 stocks traded, Jamaican Teas dropped 25 cents to end at $4.60 after exchanging 48,256 shares. Jetcon Corporation rose 1 cent to end at 81 cents, with 117,493 units passing through the market, Knutsford Express slipped 9 cents to close at $6.81 with an exchange of 300 units, Lasco Distributors gained 18 cents to end at $3.25 with 83,878 units changing hands. The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market index just inching higher after advancing stocks edged out declining ones after investors traded 36 percent fewer shares than on Monday.
Trading ended with 27 securities changing hands compared to 34 on Monday and finished with 12 stocks rising, the prices of 11 shares declining and four remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of a mere 2 points to settle at 2,542.11, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Index dived 54.19 points to settle at 2,540.11 when the trading closed on Monday, after falling stocks, overwhelmed those rising and investors traded 38 percent more shares with four percent less value than on Friday.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 27 on Friday, with the prices of seven stocks rising, the prices of 19 declining and eight remaining unchanged.  At the close of the market, the average PE Ratio of the market ended

Mailpac dominated trading on Tuesday after the company posted 33% revenues rise.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange resumed trading after closing for the Independence Day on Thursday and ended trading on Friday, with the market rising after slightly more stocks rose than declined after investors exchanged 49 percent more shares than on Wednesday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 30 on Wednesday and ended with the prices of 13 stocks rising, 12 declining and seven ending with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the market index rose 11.93 points to close at 2,606.15 and the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.6 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 2,637,466 shares for $9,741,864 compared to 1,769,437 units at $5,986,775 on Wednesday.
Main Event led trading with 607,726 shares for 23 percent of total volume followed by Mailpac Group with 576,774 units for 22 percent of the day’s trade and General Accident with 283,368 units for 10.7 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 85,080 units at $314,254 in contrast to 58,981 at $199,559 on Wednesday. Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands, down from 34 on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 12 stocks rising, 13 declining and five ended, with unchanged prices.

On a day of low volume, the market closed with an exchange of 1,769,437 shares for $5,986,775 compared to 1,625,055 units at $5,194,150 on Tuesday, with Mailpac Group ended as the leading trade with 612,063 shares for 34.6 percent of total volume. Fontana followed, with 252,183 units for 14.3 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 209,765 units for 12 percent market share.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Tuesday, with the market index advancing as more stocks rose than declined after investors traded a mere 16 percent of Monday’s volume at 22 percent of the value.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Monday and ended with the prices of 13 stocks rising. Prices of 10 stocks declined and prices of 11 remained unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced by 15.97 points to settle at 2,619.05, and the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.8 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Market activities concluded with an exchange of 1,625,055 shares for $5,194,150  compared to 9,920,174 shares for $23,681,230 on Monday.
