Agostini’s traded at a 52 weeks’ high on Tuesday.

The number of securities trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Tuesday, climbed to 18, compared to 14 on Monday. Unlike Monday, when just 1 stock advanced, trading on Tuesday threw up 4 winners 3 losers and 11 trading unchanged, with 1 closing at 52 weeks’ high and 1 at a 52 weeks’ Low.
In spite of the rise in the number of securities trading market activity ended with a mere 556,707 shares trading at a value of $4,534,786, well down from the 1,413,505 shares trading at for $8,688,584 on Monday.
The Composite Index fell 0.76 points to 1,257.20, the All T&T Index declined 1.90 points to 1,721.95 while the Cross Listed Index inched 0.05 points to close at 106.81.

Trinidad Cement closed at a 52 weeks’ low on Tuesday.

Shares of FosRich were listed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, after a successful IPO. Attempts were made to trade shares at $3 and $4 but the prices exceeded the 30 percent daily limit, permitted by the exchange.
The stock closed with a bid of $2.70 at the close to buy 20,000 shares and was offered for sale at $4.

Market activity ended as 1,413,505 shares traded at a value of $8,688,584 compared to Friday’s trades of 321,584 valued at $4,433,970.
The Composite Index fell 1.08 points to 1,257.96, the All T&T Index declined 2.66 points to 1,723.85 and the Cross Listed Index gained 0.07 points to close at 106.76.

Trading on the Junior Market ended trading with 14 securities changing hands, resulting in an exchange of 1,589,921 units valued at $7,345,355 compared to 421,479 units valued at $1,639,472 from 15 securities trading on Thursday.
Trading ended with an average of 113,566 units for an average of $524,668, in contrast to 28,099 units for an average of $109,298 on Thursday. Supreme Ventures 50.86 million trade, was by far the largest on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, accounting for $509 million of the total amount traded, including two main blocks of 25 million units each.

Modest profit rise at First Citizens

Profit before tax at the Trinidad and Tobago based First Citizens group rose 7.2 percent to TT$876 million, the year to September 2017 over the similar period to 2016.
Profit after tax profits rose just $5 million to $642 million, with a hike in profit tax to 30 percent from 25 percent in 2016. The Group’s benefited from improved efficiency and growth in Investments and loans to customers. Citizens ended with a modest increase in earnings per share of $2.54 compared to $2.52 in 2016.
Investments grew 4.9 percent to $13.6 billion from $12.97 billion at the end of the 2016 fiscal year while loans and advances, rose 7.4 percent to $16.52 billion from $15.38 billion, resulted in an increase in the net interest margin of $135 million or 10.5 percent. Customer Deposits declined to $23.98 billion from $25 billion in 2016, while shareholders’ equity climbed to $6.75 billion from $6.68 billion
Board of Directors declared a final dividend of $0.71 per share, bringing the total dividend for the fiscal year to $1.40 per share, compared to $1.33 for 2016. The final dividend will be paid on December 29, 2017, to all shareholders on record as at December 20.
First Citizens traded at $32 on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday for a PE of 12.6.
