A total of 19,888,010 shares were traded for $79,051,861 up from 17,734,945 units at $68,426,190 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 432,348 shares at $1,718,519 in contrast to 432,560 stocks at $1,668,931 on Thursday, with trading month to date, averaging 470,099 units at $1,578,445 compared to 471,994 stock units at $1,571,411 on the previous day. August closed with an average of 407,186 units at $1,330,946.

Big Fesco trade pushed the price up by 29 cents.

Junior Market trading climbs

Trading closed on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Thursday, with the volume of stocks exchanged rising 68 percent, with a slightly higher value than Wednesday following activities in 42 securities, the same as Wednesday and ending with 15 rising, 18 declining and nine closing unchanged.
A total of 20,300,179 shares were exchanged for $40,240,995 up from 12,078,496 units at $38,559,683 on Wednesday. Trading averaged 483,338 shares at $958,119 against 287,583 shares at $918,088 on Wednesday, with month to date, averaging 515,490 units at $1,694,659 compared to 517,543 units at $1,741,672 on the previous day. August closed with an average of 407,186 units at $1,330,946.
Everything Fresh led trading with 11.80 million shares for 58.1 percent of total volume followed by Mailpac Group with 2.15 million units for 10.6 percent of the day’s trade, Tropical Battery contributed 1.44 million units for 7.1 percent of the market and iCreate with 1.19 million units for 5.8 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index gained 10.64 points to settle at 4,127.69.

Big drop for Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange fell sharply on Wednesday,  with the volume of stocks traded declining 60 percent from Tuesday’s outturn after investors exchanged  62 percent less funds, with 42 securities trading versus 44 on Tuesday and ended with 15 rising, 20 declining and seven closing unchanged.
A total of 12,078,496 shares were exchanged for $38,559,683 down from 30,532,879 units at $100,998,581 on Tuesday.
Trading ended with an average of 287,583 shares at $918,088 compared to 693,929 shares at $2,295,422 on Tuesday, with the month to date, averaging 517,543 units at $1,741,672 compared to 533,222 units at $1,797,825 on the previous day. August closed with an average of 407,186 units at $1,330,946.
Jamaican Teas led trading with 2.56 million shares for 21.2 percent of total volume followed by Fosrich with 1.96 million units for 16.2 percent of the day’s trade, iCreate ended with 1.77 million units for 14.6 percent of the market and Mailpac Group with 1.07 million units for 8.8 percent market share.
