Junior Market drops with rising trades

Trading activity closed with more share prices rising than falling on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Monday, following a 9 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded, with 14 percent more value than Friday following trading in 45 securities up from 40 on Friday and ending with prices of 17 rising, 15 declining and 13 closing unchanged.
The market closed with trading of 4,608,510 shares for $11,516,185 up from 4,211,004 units at $10,092,257 on Friday.
Trading averaged 102,411 shares at $255,915 compared to 105,275 units at $252,306 on Friday with the month to date, averaging 156,650 stocks at $317,487 down from 170,597 units at $333,320 on the prior trading day and September that averaged 419,421 shares at $774,292.
Future Energy led trading with 1.14 million shares for 24.7 percent of total volume followed by iCreate with 739,197 units for 16 percent of the day’s trade and ONE on ONE Educational with 433,243 stock units for 9.4 percent market share.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index fell 42.85 points to close at 3,735.54 and has fallen by 93 points since the close of September.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 12.2, based on last traded prices in conjunction with earnings projected by ICInsider.com for financial years ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows six stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and four with lower offers.
At the close, CAC 2000 gained 22 cents to finish at $2.65 after an exchange of 200 shares, Caribbean Assurance Brokers rose 19 cents and ended at $3.48 in trading 28,240 stocks, Caribbean Cream slipped 20 cents to $3.25 after a transfer of 10,000 shares. Dolla Financial sank 10 cents in closing at $3.35 with investors trading 302,640 stock units, Elite Diagnostic climbed 28 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.10 with an exchange of 192,589 shares, Express Catering popped 20 cents to close at $3.45 after 129,996 stocks passed through the market. GWest Corporation advanced 8 cents to 98 cents after an exchange of 5,262 units, Image Plus fell 9 cents in closing at $1.60 with investors dealing in 33,394 stock units, Iron Rock Insurance increased 35 cents to finish at $3.90 in switching ownership of 132,303 shares. Jamaican Teas rallied 14 cents and ended at $2.45 with traders dealing in 2,483 stocks, Knutsford Express increased 10 cents to close at $11.10 after an exchange of 21,774 units, Lasco Financial climbed 8 cents to end at $1.71 with 534 stock units clearing the market. Mailpac Group dipped 9 cents in closing at $2.40 following an exchange of 2,025 shares, Main Event sank 30 cents to $11.40 with 2,952 stock units changing hands, Medical Disposables rose 21 cents to $2.40 with 161,617 units crossing the exchange and MFS Capital Partners declined 13 cents to end at 70 cents with investors trading 9,321 stocks.
