Future Energy Tuesday

All but one Junior Market stock traded on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, resulting in a 379 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded, with 472 percent more value than Monday following the trading of nearly 15 million shares of Future Energy valued at $53 million with trading ending in 47 securities up from 45 on Monday and ending with prices of 14 rising, 17 declining and 16 closing unchanged.
The market closed after 22,089,416 shares were traded for $65,847,454 up sharply from 4,608,510 units at $11,516,185 on Monday.
Trading averaged 469,988 shares at $1,401,010 up from 102,411 units at $255,915 on Monday with the month to date, averaging 211,807 stocks at $508,220 versus 156,650 shares at $317,487 on the previous day and September that averaged 419,421 units at $774,292.
Future Energy led trading with 14.74 million shares for 66.7 percent of total volume followed by Stationery and Office Supplies with 4.74 million units for 21.4 percent of the day’s trade and Fosrich with 817,472 stock units for 3.7 percent market share.
At the close of trading, the Junior Market Index sank 31.10 points to close trading at 3,704.44, down 3.7 percent year to date.
The Junior Market ended trading with an average PE Ratio of 12.1, based on last traded prices in conjunction with earnings projected by ICInsider.com for financial years ending around August 2025.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows eight stocks ended with bids higher than their last selling prices and five with lower offers.
At the close, Cargo Handlers declined $2.24 to end at $10.15 with an exchange of 8,459 stocks, Caribbean Assurance Brokers popped 11 cents in closing at $3.59 after 7,653 shares passed through the market, Dolphin Cove fell 91 cents to $20 with 31,796 units crossing the exchange. Elite Diagnostic rallied 34 cents to finish at a 52 weeks’ closing high of $2.44 trading 164,284 stocks, Express Catering skidded 19 cents and ended at $3.26 with 2,866 shares clearing the market, Fontana rose 36 cents to close at $8.01 with investors swapping 7,994 stock units. Future Energy sank 44 cents to $3.37 after closing with 14,736,235 stocks changing hands, ISP Finance dropped $3.75 to end at $21.25, with just 233 units crossing the market, Jamaican Teas shed 21 cents in closing at $2.24 with investors dealing in 3,447 stocks. KLE Group advanced 14 cents to close at $1.16 after an exchange of just two shares, Knutsford Express climbed $1.61 and ended at $12.71 with investors trading 2,073 units, Limners and Bards increased 10 cents to finish at $1.55 in switching ownership of 45,996 stock units. Medical Disposables gained 8 cents and ended at $2.48, with 11,357 shares changing hands and Tropical Battery fell 9 cents to $2.50 in trading 134,684 units.
