Volume and value dipped on TTSE

Trading volume fell 63 percent, with the value declining 73 percent at the close of the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange on Thursday compared to Wednesday falling, but the main market indices continued to rise for a fourth consecutive day.
The market closed with 17 securities trading, down from eighteen on Wednesday, and ended with eight stocks rising, five declining and four remaining unchanged. Trading resulted in 86,128 shares for $2,084,033.87 compared to 234,857 shares valued $3,362,566 on Wednesday.
The average trade ends at 5,072 units at $122,590 versus an average of 13,048 units at$186,809 on Wednesday. Month to date averaged 18,691 shares at $276,188 compared to 21,235 units at $304,882 on Wednesday. November averaged 12,529 shares for $181,770.
The T&T Composite Index rose 3.66 points to 1,300.61, the All T&T Index advanced by 8.05 points to 1,739.65, while the Cross Listed Index lost 0.11 points to close at 116.47.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with the bids of three stocks higher than their last selling prices and six with lower offers.
Stocks rising| Angostura Holdings gained 4 cents trading 362 shares to settle at $15, Ansa McAL closed $1.50 higher at $53.50, with 1,836 units changing hands, Ansa Merchant Bank rose $1 to $40.50, in a transfer of 7,000 stock units. Massy Holdings advanced $1 to $58, with an exchange of 195 units, National Flour gained 5 cents to finish at a 52 weeks high of $2.05, after 4,480 stock units changed hands, Prestige Holdings ended at $7.20, with gains of 19 cents exchanging 306 units. Republic Financial Holdings rose 95 cents to $134, in trading 73 units and Trinidad and Tobago NGL ended $1.01 higher at $16.01, with 23,445 shares crossing the exchange.
Stocks declining|Clico Investment Fund shed 25 cents to close at $25, with a transfer of 5,720 stock units, First Citizens Bank dropped $2.88 to finish at $41.02, after exchanging 7,112 stock units, Guardian Holdings slipped 50 cents to $20.50, trading 5,508 stock units. Trinidad Cement lost 5 cents after exchanging 688 units to end at $2.30 and Unilever Caribbean dipped 10 cents to close at $16.60, with 133 units changing hands.
Stocks trading firm|Calypso Macro Index Fund exchanged 200 units at $14, JMMB Group traded 7,345 stock units at $1.83, Point Lisas closed at $3.14, with an exchange of 1,815 units and West Indian Tobacco had a transfer of 20,000 shares at $35.40.
