TTSE closes higher on Wednesday

Trading on the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange resulted in 18 securities changing hands on Wednesday versus 16 on Tuesday leading to gains in the market indices.
Trading ended with 258,736 shares at a value of $7,944,314, compared to 576,981 shares at a value of $2,260,615 on Tuesday. Market activity ended with the prices of 3 stocks advancing, 4 declining and 11 remaining unchanged.
At the close of trading, the Composite Index gained 5.48 points to end at 1,400.52. The All T&T Index rose 0.66 points to 1,776.39, while the Cross Listed Index added 1.43 points to close at 138.74.
IC bid-offer Indicator|The Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator ended with 2 stocks closing with bids higher than the last selling prices and 1 with lower offers.
Gains| NCB Financial gained 5 cents and settled at $10.10, with 615 stock units changing hands, Republic Financial gained 48 cents to settle at $121.81, with 1,677 units crossing the exchange and Sagicor Financial rose 4 cents and ended at $10.35, after exchanging 7,609 shares.
Losses| Clico Investment Fund closed with a loss of 2 cents at $24.05, trading 52,221 units, Guardian Media lost 50 cents and settled at a 52 weeks’ low of $10, after exchanging 900 shares, JMMB Group declined 3 cents and settled at $2.12, with investors exchanging 475 shares and Unilever Caribbean ended trading 120 units with a loss of 2 cents to close at $24.98.
Firm Trades| Ansa Mcal completed trading at $55.20, after exchanging 1,200 shares, First Caribbean International Bank closed at $8.35, with 25,405 units changing hands, First Citizens traded 5,981 shares at $40.01, Grace Kennedy settled at $3.55, with 44,425 stock units crossing the exchange, Massy Holdings settled at $54.98, with 100,000 stocks trading. One Caribbean Media concluded exchanging 200 shares at $10.10, Point Lisas ended at $3.75, with 25 stock units changing hands, Scotiabank settled at $59.70, after exchanging 837 shares. Trinidad & Tobago NGL traded 6,560 units to close at $27.90, LJ Williams B shares completed trading at $1, after swapping of 14,620 shares and West Indian Tobacco concluded trading at $110, with 954 units crossing the exchange.
