Trading jumps for Trinidad stocks

Trading on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange on the Market activity ended on Wednesday, with the volume and the value of stocks traded rising 507 percent respectively more than on Tuesday.
A total of 21 securities traded up from 16 on Tuesday, with six rising, seven declining and eight remaining unchanged. The Composite Index declined 5.77 points to 1,381.49, the All T&T Index shed 13.07 points to 2,032.94 and the Cross-Listed Index rallied 0.29 points to settle at 95.82.
A total of 1,060,359 shares traded for $5,544,240 versus 174,673 units at $913,667 on Tuesday. An average of 50,493 stock units traded at $264,011 compared to 10,917 shares at $57,104 on Tuesday, with trading month to date averaging 45,973 units at $276,341 versus 44,147 units at $281,320 on the previous trading day. The average trade for June amounts to 55,705 units at $392,249.
Investor’s Choice bid-offer indicator shows one ended with a bid higher than their last selling prices and none with a lower offer.
At the close, Angostura Holdings remained at $24.99 with the swapping of 53 shares, Ansa McAl finished at $56.05, with 174 stock units crossing the market, CinemaOne advanced 78 cents to end at a 52 week’s high of $5.98 after 16 stocks were exchanged. Clico Investment Fund dropped 20 cents to close at $28.60 in an exchange of 2,520 units, First Citizens Group fell 98 cents in closing at $50.02 with 1,409 stocks clearing the market, FirstCaribbean International Bank increased by 1 cent to $5.01 with an exchange of 1,012,963 stock units. GraceKennedy ended unchanged at $5.49 trading 3,746 shares, Guardian Holdings finished at $27.31 in switching ownership of 128 units, Guardian Media remained at $3.10 in exchanging 185 stock units. JMMB Group rose 11 cents to close at $2.41, with 1,706 shares changing hands, Massy Holdings dipped 2 cents to $5.10 in exchanging 16,901 stocks, National Enterprises gained 3 cents to end at $3.23 after 10,000 units crossed the market. National Flour Mills ended unchanged at $1.75 in trading 2,800 shares, One Caribbean Media shed 12 cents in ending at $4 after 180 stocks, crossed the exchange, Point Lisas remained at $3.40 after exchanging 125 units. Republic Financial Holdings popped $1 to $142 with an exchange of 136 stock units, Scotiabank lost 10 cents in ending at $77.40 while exchanging 242 shares, Trinidad & Tobago NGL fell 8 cents to end at $20.74 after exchanging 870 stock units. Trinidad Cement dropped 19 cents in closing at $3.51, with 450 stocks crossing the market, Unilever Caribbean rallied 85 cents to close at $13.85, with 2,591 units changing hands and West Indian Tobacco finished at $22.50 in exchanging 3,164 stock units.
