VM Invest & Wisynco still dominant – Tuesday

Victoria Mutual Investments and Wisynco Group that listed in late December on Jamaica Stock Exchange main market, continue to dominate trading with the highest volume, accounting for 7 million of the 9.4 million units traded on Tuesday up from 5.1 traded on Monday out of 7.4 million units.
Market activity ended with 25 securities changing hands, of which 11 advanced, 5 declined, 9 traded firm and Mayberry Investments trading at a 52 weeks’ high. A total of 9,412,814 units valued at $83,130,402 traded on Tuesday.
At the close of trading the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index slipped by 75.69 points to 314,379.50 and the JSE Index fell 68.97 points to close at 286,435.26.

JMMB Group concluded trading 65 cents higher at $25, with 294,549 units, Kingston Wharves settled 99 cents higher at $33.99, with 3,344 shares, Mayberry Investments ended trading 61 cents higher at $7.40, with 40,003 stock units, NCB Financial Group traded 80 cents higher at $99.80, with 48,329 units. In the main market preference segment, Jamaica Money Market 7.5% traded with a loss of 20 cents at $1.80, with 35,000 units, JMMB Group 7.5% closed at $1.16, with 1,163,512 shares.

VM Investments continues with high volume trades.

New listings retreat on Friday

Newly listed Victoria Mutual Investments and Wisynco Group are two of 6 main market stocks to pull back on Friday with 2.96 million and 1.85 million units traded respectively.
All four stocks that listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, in December have retreated from their peak, FosRich fell 48 percent, GWest 33 percent, Wisynco Group 28 percent and VM Investments down 10 percent.

Trading on the Main Market ended on Friday with 26 securities changing hands, 11 advanced, 4 declined and 11 traded firm resulting in 10,210,190 units valued at $125,309,363 trading, compared to 4,648,646 units valued at $69,664,482 from 22 securities changing hands on Thursday.
The exchange latest listing, Victoria Mutual Investments, traded on the main market on Friday and closed at $3.24 for a gain of 32 percent from its IPO price of $2.45, after trading as high as $4. Previously listed Wisynco traded 5 million shares and closed at $11.99 after hitting an all-time high of $13.80 during the day.
Trading ended with an average of 392,700 units for an average of $4,819,591 in contrast to 211,302 units for an average of $3,166,567 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 686,156 units valued at an average of $8,654,832 and previously 701,126 units valued at an average of $8,851,977. In contrast, November closed with average of 349,084 units at an average of $5,801,440 for each security traded.

The major movers at the close of the market are, JMMB Group traded 1.26 million shares and rose by $2 to $25, NCB Financial climbed $1.50 to $100, Sagicor Group jumping by $2.24 to $37.99, Scotia Group surged $3.75 to $53.85 and Wisynco traded 5 million shares and rose $1.90 to $11.99. Cable & Wireless traded with a gain of 15 cents to end at $1.25 before news officially broke that the majority owners were making an offer of $1.45 for each minority share.

Investors who applied for shares in the public pool in VM Investments recent public issue of shares will get the first 30,000 units and 4.32 percent of the balance.
Employees and Members reserved groups were allocated the full amounts applied for. The offer closed with subscriptions in excess of $2 Billion for the $689,261,487 offered”
A total of 225,003,750 Ordinary Shares in the Offer were reserved for staff and customers of the VMBS Group at discounts from $2.08 to $2.33 each and 75 million for the general public at $2.45 each.
The company’s shares will list on the main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday.

Wisynco started trading on the main market on Thursdays with very strong demand for the shares that were sold to the public at $7.87, by the close of trading attempts were made to trade 3.46 million units as high as $13.50 but most were cancelled as the price exceeded the 30 percent price movement limit of for the day. At the close 2,925,359 units were traded up to $10.09, the maximum price limit for the day.
Wisynco ended with 7,382 new shareholders, with those applying for shares from the General Public pool receiving the first 25,000 units in full and approximately 18.81 percent of the balance.

Salada Foods ended $1 higher at a 52 weeks’ high of $11.50, with 102,000 stock units, Scotia Group concluded trading with a loss of $1.90 at $50.10, with 43,810 units and Supreme Ventures ended trading 80 cents higher at $11.50, with 15,000 stock units. In the main market preference segment,  JMMB Group 7.5% traded 133,300 units at $1.15 and Proven Investments 8.25% ended with 48,773 units trading with a rise of 60 cents at $5.90.
