Gains for JSE Main Market

The Main Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 21 percent valued at 9 percent less than on Wednesday, with trading in 55 securities compared with 56 on Wednesday and resulted in prices of 26 stocks rising, 14 declining and 15 ending unchanged.
The market closed with 23,595,187 shares being traded for $144,177,624 compared with 19,510,472 units at $158,059,371 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 429,003 shares at $2,621,411 compared to 348,401 units at $2,822,489 on Wednesday and for the month to date, an average of 1,392,755 stock units at $3,048,797, in comparison with 1,492,956 units at $3,093,232 on the previous day and February that closed with an average of 385,143 units at $3,418,046.
General Accident led trading with 5.0 million shares for 21.2 percent of total volume followed by Wigton Windfarm with 4.63 million units for 19.6 percent of the day’s trade, Radio Jamaica closed with 4.41 million units trading for 18.7 percent of the market trade, Carreras closed with 3.57 million units for 15.1 percent market share, Transjamaican Highway ended with 2.83 million units for 12 percent of trading and QWI Investments with 1.17 million units for 5 percent of total volume.
The All Jamaican Composite Index popped 331.63 points to finish at 366,543.41, the JSE Main Index rallied 88.64 points to end the day at 326,974.20 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.31 points to end the day at 69.46.

Kingston Properties rose 42 cents to close at $7.50, with 623 shares crossing the market, Kingston Wharves lost $5.80 and ended at $28.90 in trading 6,937 stock units, Mayberry Group gained 50 cents to end at $8 with 1,501 shares crossing the exchange. 138 Student Living sank 57 cents in closing at $3.63 in switching ownership of 23,710 stock units, Pan Jamaica advanced $3.40 to $50.20 after 776 units passed through the market, Proven Investments shed $1.97 and ended at $21.85 with investors trading 9,266 stocks. Scotia Group popped $3 to end at $46 after a transfer of 461,066 units, Seprod climbed $2.95 in closing at $85 with investors swapping 538 shares, Supreme Ventures increased by 60 cents to close at $25.14 in an exchange of 27,521 stock units and Sygnus Credit Investments rose 49 cents to $11.12 with investors transferring 11,391 stocks.
In the preference segment, 138 Student Living preference share declined $32.70 to close at $185.30 after an exchange of 50 units.

Big drop for JSE Main market

Stocks mostly fell at the close of trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Wednesday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 40 percent and the value 42 percent lower than in trading on Tuesday, with activity in 56 securities compared with 61 on Tuesday, with prices of 15 stocks rising, 28 declining and 13 ending unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 19,510,472 shares at $158,059,371 compared with 32,587,303 units at $270,744,190 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 348,401 shares at $2,822,489 compared to 534,218 units at $4,438,429 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 1,492,956 units at $3,093,232, in comparison with 1,628,463 units at $3,125,286 on the previous day and February with an average of 385,143 units at $3,418,046.
Carreras led trading with 5.35 million shares for 27.4 percent of total volume followed by General Accident with 4.01 million units for 20.5 percent of the day’s trade, Wigton Windfarm ended with 3.76 million units for 19.3 percent market share, Transjamaican Highway chipped in with 2.44 million units for 12.5 percent of stocks traded and Scotia Group ended with 1.01 million units for 5.2 percent of total volume.
The All Jamaican Composite Index dipped 4,423.34 points to 366,211.78, the JSE Main Index declined 3,917.90 points to 326,885.56 and the JSE Financial Index lost 1.87 points to end at 69.15.

Gains for Main Market with trading jump

Trading picked up on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising and valued 37 percent more than on Monday, with trading in 61 securities compared with 60 on Monday, with prices of 25 stocks rising, 23 declining and 13 ending unchanged and resulted in the major market indices rising appreciably.
The market closed with trading of 32,587,303 shares for  $270,744,190 compared with 30,745,022 units at $197,877,221 on Monday.
Trading averaged 534,218 shares at $4,438,429 compared to 512,417 units at $3,297,954 on Monday and month to date, an average of 1,628,463 units at $3,125,286, compared with 1,790,475 shares at $2,930,865 on the previous day and February with an average of 385,143 units at $3,418,046.
Carreras led trading with 10.46 million shares for 32.1 percent of total volume followed by Wigton Windfarm with 9.06 million units for 27.8 percent of the day’s trade, QWI Investments chipped in with 3.90 million stocks for 12 percent market share, Transjamaican Highway ended with 3.26 million units for 10 percent stocks traded and GraceKennedy closed trading with 1.38 million units for 4.2 percent of total volume.
The All Jamaican Composite Index increased 3,671.55 points to close at 370,635.12, the JSE Main Index rallied 2,050.06 points to 330,803.46 and the JSE Financial Index rallied 1.25 points to 71.02.

JSE Main Market trading back to the norm

Investors traded 96 percent fewer stocks at an 83 percent lower value than on Thursday, after trading in 58 securities compared with 59 on Thursday, with prices of 19 stocks rising, 23 declining and 16 ending unchanged, at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Friday with Wigton Windfarm traded just 13.4 million shares compared to more than 561 million on Thursday.
The market closed with 24,192,561 shares being traded for $99,646,238 compared with 566,948,248 units at $597,471,743 on Thursday.
Trading averaged 417,113 shares at $1,718,058 compared to 9,774,970 units at $10,301,237 on Thursday and month to date, an average of 2,018,048 stock units at $2,876,457, in comparison with 2,322,239 units at $3,095,210 on the previous day and February with an average of 385,143 units at $3,418,046.
For a second consecutive day, Wigton Windfarm led trading with 13.42 million shares for 55.5 percent of total volume followed by Transjamaican Highway with 5.98 million units for 24.7 percent of the day’s trade, Radio Jamaica ended with 1.25 million stocks for 5.2 percent market share and Supreme Ventures closed with 1.01 million units for 4.2 percent of total volume.

Big drop for JSE Main Market as Wigton dominates

Wigton Windfarm with an exchange with more than 561 million shares and falling stocks dominated trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, Main Market on Thursday, with the All Jamaican Composite Index diving 5,613.72 points to 370,561.10 as the JSE Main Index dropped 5,393.37 points to end at 330,935.39 and the JSE Financial Index shed 0.93 points to lock up trading at 70.68, following a big 712 percent surge in the volume of stocks traded rising following a 406 percent jumped in the value over Wednesday.
Trading ended with 59 securities on Wednesday and Thursday, resulting in prices of 18 stocks rising, 23 declining and 18 ending unchanged as the prices of two stocks closed at yearly highs and two at yearly lows, with 138 Student Living falling to $3.02 and Sagicor Group declining to $40, with Eppley ending at $42 and JMMMB Group 7.15% closing at $3.40.
The market closed with exchange of 566,948,248 shares at $597,471,743 compared with 69,861,889 units at $117,997,722 on Wednesday.

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 34 percent and the value 17 percent lower than on Monday, with trading in 56 securities compared with 61 on Monday, with prices of 17 stocks rising, 25 declining and 14 ending unchanged.
The market closed with 9,981,935 shares trading for only $45,441,226 compared with 15,142,311 units at $54,478,058 on Monday.
Trading averaged 178,249 shares at $811,450 compared to 248,235 units at $893,083 on Monday and month to date, an average of 260,955 units at $1,105,240 compared with 299,552 units at $1,242,342 on the previous day and February with an average of 385,143 units at $3,418,046.

NCB Financial lost $2.25 to end at $67.25 with an exchange of 14,606 stock units, Proven Investments gained $2.11 in closing at $23.69, with 650 units passing through the market, Pulse Investments lost 8 cents in closing at a 52 weeks’ low of $1.71 after an exchange of 236,987 shares. Trading dropped on the JSE Main Market

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended on Monday, with the volume of stocks traded declining 27 percent with a 42 percent lower value than on Friday, following trading in 61 securities up from 59 on Friday, with prices of 17 stocks rising, 24 declining and 20 ending unchanged.
Investors traded 15,142,311 shares for $54,478,058, well down on 20,803,919 units at $94,602,958 on Friday.
Trading averaged 248,235 shares at $893,083 compared to 352,609 units at $1,603,440 on Friday and month to date, an average of 299,552 units at $1,242,342 compared with February that closed with an average of 385,143 units at $3,418,046.
Transjamaican Highway led trading with 6.86 million shares for 45.3 percent of total volume followed by Wigton Windfarm with 3.16 million units for 20.9 percent of the day’s trade and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 2.75 million units for 18.2 percent of the day’s trade.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rose 1,226.40 points to end the day at 377,614.10, the JSE Main Index increased 28.93 points to close at 336,596.92 and the JSE Financial Index increased 0.18 points to 72.10.

Kingston Wharves rose $1.57 in closing at $35.07 trading 24,123 shares, Massy Holdings sank $2.95 to close at $90.45 in an exchange of 215 stock units, NCB Financial advanced $1.23 and ended at $69.50 and closed with an exchange of 11,244 shares. Proven Investments shed 52 cents to end at $21.58 with an exchange of 40,713 stock units, Scotia Group dipped 35 cents in closing at $47 after 13,409 stocks passed through the market, Seprod popped $2.20 to $87.20 after exchanging 14,009 units. Sygnus Credit Investments skidded 34 cents to close at $11.25 with investors trading 136,859 stocks, Transjamaican Highway rallied 32 cents and ended at a 52 weeks’ high of $3.57 in an exchange of 6,857,612 shares and Wisynco Group gained 50 cents to end at $21.50 with traders dealing in 431,342 units.
In the preference segment, Jamaica Public Service 7% fell $2.30 to $47 after 1,133 stock units crossed the exchange.

NCB Dominated trading on Monday

Trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended on Monday, with the volume of stocks changing hands surging 281 percent and the value 2308 percent more than on Friday, as NCB Financial dominated trading, with the market ending with trading in 60 securities compared with 58 on Friday, with prices of 24 stocks rising, 18 declining and 18 ending unchanged as Carreras and JMMBGL 7.15% hit new 52 weeks’ high.
The market closed after 42,931,286 shares were traded for $1,976,142,956 in comparison with 11,253,996 stock units at $82,073,604 on Friday.
Trading averaged 715,521 shares at $32,935,716 compared with 194,034 units at $1,415,062 on Friday and month to date, an average of 369,995 units at $3,613,721, in comparison with 347,287 units at $1,686,756 on the previous trading day and January with an average of 265,804 units at $2,438,118.
NCB Financial led trading with 25.23 million shares for 58.8 percent of total volume followed by Wigton Windfarm with 5.03 million units for 11.7 percent of the day’s trade, Proven Investments ended with 3.60 million stocks for 8.4 percent market share, Sagicor Group closed with 2.11 million units for 4.9 percent of the market trades, Transjamaican Highway chipped in with 1.61 million shares for 3.8 percent market share and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 1.35 million units for 3.2 percent of total volume.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rallied 4,481.53 points to close at 377,145.00, the JSE Main Index increased 3,554.31 points to end the day at 336,232.35 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.41 points to wrap up trading at 72.19.

MPC Caribbean Clean Energy jumped $25.25 to end at $121 after an exchange of 75 units, NCB Financial skidded 49 cents to $69.01 with a transfer of 25,228,874 stocks, Proven Investments sank 99 cents in closing at $22.02 after an exchange of 3,602,931 stock units. Sagicor Group shed $1.80 to close at $42 with investors trading 2,110,802 shares, Scotia Group dropped 60 cents and ended at $45.50 as investors exchanged 45,251 stock units, Seprod fell $2.40 to end at $78.30, with 13,435 units crossing the market. Supreme Ventures gained 97 cents in closing at $27 with investors dealing in 435,128 stocks and Sygnus Credit Investments skidded 31 cents to $10.99 while exchanging 119,582 units.
