The Jamaican dollar continues to made gains against the major currencies on Wednesday as purchases of all currencies by dealers ended at US$32,011,020 equivalent, compared with US$32,466,669, on Tuesday and selling of the equivalent of US$35,962,081 versus US$53,440,863 on the previous trading day.
In US dollar trading, dealers bought US$30,387,092 compared to US$27,214,911 on Tuesday. The buying rate for the US dollar rose 2 cents to $114.98 and US$34,263,115 was sold versus US$50,104,155 on Tuesday, the selling rate fell 3 cents to end at $115.48 The Canadian dollar buying rate dropped 74 cents to $88.86 with dealers buying C$614,839 and selling C$537,751, at an average rate that advanced 36 cents to $91.42. The rate for buying the British Pound dipped $1.75 to $170.91 for the purchase of £694,383, while £517,462 was sold, at an average rate of $173.51, for a decline of 29 cents. At the end of trading it took J$123.68 to purchase the Euro, $1.62 less than on Tuesday , according to data from Bank of Jamaica, while dealers purchased the European common currency at J$121.24 for a decline of $1.64 from Tuesday . Other currencies bought, amounted to the equivalent of US$116,629 while the equivalent of US$495,771, was sold.
Highs & Lows| The highest buying rate for the US dollar, declined 10 cents to $115.65, the lowest buying and the highest selling rates remained at $94.36 and $120.91 respectively. In US dollar trading, dealers bought US$43,116,978 compared to US$27,386,186 on Friday. The buying rate for the US dollar fell 6 cents to $115.02 and US$41,972,897 was sold versus US$26,162,679 on Friday, the selling rate fell 3 cents to end at $115.52 The Canadian dollar buying rate dropped 51 cents to $89.84 with dealers buying C$1,539,237 and selling C$773,159, at an average rate that declined 57 cents to $91.73. The rate for buying the British Pound dipped 20 cents to $173.83 for the purchase of £2,368,918, while £650,111 was sold, at an average rate of $174.14, for a decline of $1.28. At the end of trading it took J$125.51 to purchase the Euro, $1.97 less than on Friday, according to data from Bank of Jamaica, while dealers purchased the European common currency at J$123.12 for a decline of $1.91 from Friday. Other currencies bought, amounted to the equivalent of US$195,032 while the equivalent of US$126,841, was sold.

The Jamaican dollar made gains against all the major currencies on Friday. Purchases of all currencies by dealers ended at US$31,958,706 equivalent compared with US$30,479,664, on Thursday and selling of the equivalent of US$29,239,805 versus US$33,875,356 on the previous trading day.
In US dollar trading, dealers bought US$27,386,186 compared to US$26,732,122 on Thursday. The buying rate for the US dollar was unchanged at $115.08 and US$26,162,679 was sold versus US$31,619,074 on Thursday, the selling rate fell 3 cents to end at $115.55 The Canadian dollar buying rate dropped 22 cents to $90.35 with dealers buying C$1,034,489 and selling C$453,721, at an average rate that declined 28 cents to $92.30. The rate for buying the British Pound dipped 50 cents to $174.03 for the purchase of £1,328,151, while £1,218,105 was sold, at an average rate of $175.42, for a decline of 24 cents. At the end of trading it took J$127.48 to purchase the Euro, 44 cent less than on Thursday, according to data from Bank of Jamaica, while dealers purchased the European common currency at J$125.03 for a decline of 40 cents from Thursday. Other currencies bought, amounted to the equivalent of US$1,751,867 while the equivalent of US$865,555, was sold.

The Jamaican dollar was stable against the US Dollar, gained value on Thursday versus the British pound but declined against the Canadian dollar. The buying rate for the US dollar gained 3 cents to end at $115.08 and US$31,619,074 was sold versus US$34,883,857 on Wednesday, the selling rate was unchanged at $115.58. The Canadian dollar buying rate dropped $1.30 to $90.57 with dealers buying C$846,123 and selling C$533,240, at an average rate that climbed 26 cents to $92.58. The buying rate for the US dollar fell by 19 cents to end at $115.05 and US$34,883,857 was sold versus US$51,146,506 on Tuesday, the selling rate was unchanged at $115.58. The Canadian dollar buying rate rose 8 cents to $91.87 with dealers buying C$5,061,301 and selling C$3,684,928, at an average rate that climbed 9 cents to $92.32. The rate for buying the British Pound rose 6 cents to $175.68 for the purchase of £1,266,526, while £377,480 was sold, at an average rate of $177.15, for a decline of 47 cents. The buying rate for the US dollar increased by 15 cents to end at $115.24 and US$51,146,506 was sold versus US$46,156,443 on Monday, the selling rate fell 2 cents to $115.58 The Canadian dollar buying rate rose $1.58 to $91.79 with dealers buying C$4,543,331 and selling C$3,944,987, at an average rate that climbed 20 cents to $92.23. The rate for buying the British Pound rose 34 cents to $175.62 for the purchase of £1,592,311, while £751,710 was sold, at an average rate of $177.62, up 26 cents.
