J$ stable against US dollar on Thursday

The Jamaican dollar was stable against the US Dollar, gained value on Thursday versus the British pound but declined against the Canadian dollar. Purchases of all currencies by dealers ended at US$30,479,664 equivalent compared with US$36,518,886, on Wednesday and selling of the equivalent of US$33,875,356 versus US$38,523,072 on the previous trading day.
FX sum 5-3-15 In US dollar trading, dealers bought US$26,732,122 compared to US$30,375,504 on Wednesday. The buying rate for the US dollar gained 3 cents to end at $115.08 and US$31,619,074 was sold versus US$34,883,857 on Wednesday, the selling rate was unchanged at $115.58. The Canadian dollar buying rate dropped $1.30 to $90.57 with dealers buying C$846,123 and selling C$533,240, at an average rate that climbed 26 cents to $92.58. The rate for buying the British Pound dipped $1.15 to $174.53 for the purchase of £1,387,023, while £726,166 was sold, at an average rate of $175.66, for a decline of $1.48. At the end of trading it took J$127.92 to purchase the Euro, $1.35 lower than on Wednesday, according to data from Bank of Jamaica, while dealers purchased the European common currency at J$125.42 for a decline of $1.53 from Wednesday. Other currencies bought, amounted to the equivalent of US$978,170 while the equivalent of US$725,529, was sold.
FXHL 5-3-15Highs & Lows| The highest buying rate for the US dollar, fell 25 cents to $115.75, the lowest buying and the highest selling rates remained at $94.36 and $120.91 respectively. The lowest selling rate rose 50 cents to $113.50. The highest buying rate for the Canadian dollar declined $1.50 cents to $92.50, the lowest buying rate rose 8 cents to $73.04. The highest selling rate fell 70 cents to $94.91 and the lowest selling rate was up 10 cents to $88. The highest buying rate for the British Pound, climbed 73 cents to $176.75. The lowest buying rate rose $2.28 to $142.01, the highest selling rate gained $3.11 to $183.08 and the lowest selling rate rose $2.75 to $171.10.
