The Junior Market tumbles on Friday

The Junior Market Index tumbled on Friday with a drop of 63.94 points to end trading activities at 2,532.08 as declining stocks outpaced advancing ones 3 to 1.
The day ended, with the prices of seven stocks rising, 20 declining while eight remained firm. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at nine based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Trading ended with an exchange of 4,584,423 shares for $12,466,749 from 35 shares compared to 6,245,390 units at $15,597,349 from 33 securities on Thursday.  Indies Pharma led trading with 2.43 million shares for 53 percent of total volume, followed by Everything Fresh with 384,763 units for 8 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 250,122 units for 6 percent market share.
The average trade for the day ended at 130,984 units for an average of $356,193, in contrast to an average of 189,254 valued at $472,647 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 464,265 units at $1,176,300 for each security traded in contrast to 517,773 units at $1,307,969 previously. In contrast, the average trade for June was 245,049 units at $689,955 for each active security.

At the close of the market, Access Financial dived $4.33 to $21.67 in trading 17,214 units, AMG Packaging lost 36 cents to settle at a 52 weeks’ low of $1.15 with investors transferring 49,074 units, Caribbean Flavours jumped 32 cents to finish at $10.50 with an exchange of 3,404 stock units. Caribbean Producers increased by 10 cents to close at $2.48 in trading 52,951 units, Derrimon Trading slipped 3 cents to close at $2.38 with 5,400 stock units changing hands, Dolphin Cove declined by 20 cents to end at $7.80 with of 21,000 units changing hands. Elite Diagnostic dropped 13 cents and traded 16,797 units to finish at $3.62, Everything Fresh lost 8 cents to close at 67 cents with investors transferring 384,763 shares, Express Catering fell 5 cents to $4.25 with 50 shares changing hands. Fontana dipped by 9 cents to close at $5.10 with investors exchanging 111,283 units, Fosrich dropped 7 cents to $3.68 in the transfer of 9,043 units, General Accident shed 20 cents in the trading of 18,676 shares to finish at $6.80. GWest Corporation lost 4 cents and exchanged 5,204 units to settle at 85 cents, Indies Pharma ended with investors transferring 2,426,126 stock units as the stock shed 17 cents to close at $2.78, Jamaican Teas lost 9 cents to finish at $4.70 with 44,424 stock units changing hands. Jetcon Corporation fell 3 cents to settle at $1.05 in trading 62,409 shares, Knutsford Express dropped 30 cents to close at $6.50 with 102,248 units changing hands, Lasco Financial rose 1 cent to $2.51 with an exchange of 47,400 shares. Lasco Manufacturing increased by 9 cents to settle at $3.70 with 104,900 units traded, Limners and Bards gained 10 cents to end at $2.60 with investors transferring 73,015 shares, Lumber Depot fell 3 cents and traded 250,122 units to finish $1.02. Mailpac Group closed 5 cents higher at $2.03 with 170,630 stock units changing hands, Main Event declined 1 cent to $4.07 in the transfer of 769 units, Paramount Trading lost 14 cents to end at $1.80 with 30,600 shares crossing the exchange. SSL Venture slipped 1 cent to 89 cents and exchanging just one unit, Stationery and Office Supplies gained 10 cents to end at $5.80 with the transfer of 2,300 units and tTech lost 50 cents to close at $4.70 with 3,074 units changing hands.

Junior Market climbs higher on Tuesday

The Junior Market inched a bit higher on Tuesday with an increased number of shares at a higher value trading than on Monday. The market activity left the Index modestly higher, with a rise of 7.94 points to close back above 2,600 at 2,601.98.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands with the prices of 14 stocks rising, 11 declining and nine closing unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.4 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 21,554,761 shares at $46,869,796 compared to 9,111,135 units at $34,960,291 on Monday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 17.10 million shares for 79 percent of total volume, followed by Indies Pharma with 2.47 million units for 11.4 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 699,085 units for 3.2 percent market share.
The average trade for the day ended at 633,964 units at $1,378,523 in contrast to an average of 293,908 valued at $1,127,751 on Monday. An average of 554,511 units traded for the month at $1,456,207 for each security, in contrast to 531,422 units at $1,478,781. The average volume and value for June was 245,049 units valued at $689,955.

LascoMan dominates Junior Market trading

Lasco Manufacturing traded 18.6 shares for 49.8 percent of total volume on Friday on the Junior Market to be the leading trade for the day. Derrimon Trading was next with 14.47 million units for 38.7 percent of the day’s volume, followed by MailPac Group with 3.47 million units for 9.3 percent market share.

Lasco Manufacturing dominated Junior Market trading with 18.6 million shares.

Prices of Lasco Manufacturing and Mailpac went in opposite directions with the Lasco price hitting $3.40, helping to pull the market index down from the 2,595 points level in morning trading, by approximately 70 points. Mailpac declared a 4 cents interim dividend, the first since listing and encouraged investors’ demand in pushing the price to $2.54, the highest since it traded at $2.60, shortly after the shares were listed in December last year. Derrimon Trading traded and ended unchanged for the day.
The Junior Market Index that rose in the morning session to almost 2,600 points, but was hit, with the index tumbling to 2,525 points level at one stage before it bounced to end the day with a fall of 14.67 points at 2,539.19. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
Trading ended with 27 securities changing hands with the prices of 10 stocks rising, eight declining and nine closing unchanged. The market closed with an exchange of 37,360,918 shares amounting to $101,776,650 compared to 11,750,821 units at $26,397,742 on Thursday.
The average trade for the day ended at 1,383,738 units for $3,769,506 in contrast to an average of 391,694 valued at $879,925 on Thursday. Junior Market jumps to end June

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended June on a positive note with the market index rising 24.30 to close at 2.592.24 and ended the halfway mark of the year, down 22.6 percent and closing out the month 41 points lower than the close of May.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands, down from 37 on Monday, with prices of 15 stocks rising, 10 declining and eight stocks closing unchanged. The average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com’s forecasted 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,554,181 shares accounting for 12,472,239 compared to 13,689,006 units at 25,143,842 on Monday.

Junior Market tops 2,600 again

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange resulted in Market Index surging 52.72 points to close at 2,602.92 to cross back above the 2,600 mark after falling below it on Monday, as trading fell back to more normal levels, from the heightened level on Tuesday.
By the close of the market, investors exchanged 4,874,547 shares for $20,159,456 compared to 46,968,202 units at $126,633,229 on Tuesday. The day’s activities saw 35 securities changing hands, with the prices of 12 rising 11 stocks declining and 12 closing with prices remaining unchanged. $127m Junior Market trades – Tuesday

Investors sent the Junior Market down at the close of trading on Tuesday with volume and value surging well over recent daily levels as Mailpac and Fontana shares dominated with 66 and 25 percent of the market respectively and Caribbean Cream chipped in with 4 percent.
The prices of the three leading trades declined to help in the Junior Market Index shedding 46.89 points to close at 2,550.20, the second lowest close for the month to date. At the end of the market, 32 securities traded down from 28 securities on Monday as the prices of 11 securities advanced, 13 declined and eight remained unchanged. The PE ratio of the market ended at ten times IC Insider.com projected 2020-21 earnings.
Trading resulted in an exchange of 46,968,202 units accounting for $126,633,229 compared to 4,779,088 shares at $20,952,617 on Monday.
Trading concluded with an average of 1,467,756 units at $3,957,288 for each security traded in contrast to 170,682 units at $748,308 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 261,844 units at $692,096 and previously 177,588 units at $463,960. In contrast, May closed with an average of 150,274 units for $491,077 for each security traded.

Caribbean Producers lost 5 cents to settle at $2.34 with 650,144 stock units passing through the market, Dolphin Cove jumped 80 cents after a transfer of 1,660 shares to close at $8.30, Elite Diagnostic added 5 cents to end at $3.83 with 25,182 units changing hands. Fontana traded a staggering 11,483,741 units and dropped 16 cents to close at $5.60, Honey Bun climbed 35 cents to $5.65 with an exchange of 103,044 units, iCreate gained 3 cents in the transfer of 40,000 units to finish at 61 cents. Indies Pharma slipped 14 cents and traded 343,600 shares to finish at $2.66, Jamaican Teas ended at $4.58 after rising 23 cents in exchanging 32,850 stock units, Jetcon Corporation slipped 4 cents to $1.15 in the transfer of 17,392 shares. Lasco Distributors closed 1 cent lower at $2.97, with 619,829 units changing hands, Lasco Financial slipped 2 cents to $2.60 with 33,329 units traded, Lasco Manufacturing closed at $4 after adding 1 cent in the transfer of 54,751 shares. Limners and Bards rose 15 cents to $2.73 with 348,673 shares crossing the exchange, Lumber Depot slid 2 cents and swapped 277,086 units to finish at $1.11, Mailpac Group and lost 2 cents to close at $1.88 with investors transferring a stunning 30,777,290 shares. Main Event finished at $4.15 after rising 5 cents and trading 1,000 units and Medical Disposables shed 20 cents to settle at $6.80 with 1,806 stock units crossing the exchange. In the junior market preference segment, CAC 2000 9.5% climbed 16 cents to $1.16, with 1,008 units changing hands.

Another positive week for Junior Market

The support line going back to the 2020 low in the market in March is steering the market slowly upwards.

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed higher at the close on Friday as well as for the week with three days of a rising index continuing the trend in recent weeks of a slowly rising market.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,892,108 shares at $13,413,027 as 28 securities traded compared to 4,370,450 units valued at $13,021,794 on Thursday. The average trade of the day was 174,718 units at $479,037 in contrast to an average of 145,682 units at $434,060 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 236,512 units for $445,444, in contrast, 178,269 units valued at $443,105. May ended with an average of 150,274 units at $491,077 for each security traded.
