Junior Market ekes out small gain

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Thursday, with the market squeezing out a small gain after more stocks rose than decline with a hefty 154 percent more shares trading than Wednesday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Wednesday and ended with the prices of 15 stocks rising, the prices of 10 declining and six, with remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 3.26 points to close at 2,457.36. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,265,667 shares for $9,982,025 compared to 1,678,856 units at $4,184,920 on Wednesday. MailPac Group led trading with 3.52 million shares for 82.9 percent of total volume, followed by Limners and Bards with 374,097 units for 8.8 percent of the day’s trade and Lasco Distributors with just 51,906 units for 1.2 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 137,142 units at $322,001  in contrast to 47,967 at $119,569 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 90,508 units at $260,932, in comparison to 67,920 units at $231,351 on Wednesday. Trading in August resulted in an average of  104,426 units at $321,996 trading.

At the close of the market, Access Financial gained 6 cents to end at $20.96, in exchanging 1,003  shares, Caribbean Assurance Brokers lost 6 cents to close at $1.94, trading 1,000 units, Caribbean Cream rose 55 cents to $4.75, with 4,000 units changing hands. Caribbean Flavours shed 33 cents in transferring 12,648 stock units at $18, Caribbean Producers finished 9 cents higher at $2.40, with  4,750 stock units clearing the market, Dolphin Cove slid 99 cents to a 52 weeks’ low of $5.51, after trading 46,554 shares. Elite Diagnostic ended at $3.05, with a loss of 40 cents, with 400 units changing hands, Express Catering closed 15 cents higher at $3.50, after transferring 2,000 stock units, Fontana slipped 4 cents to $4.71, in exchanging 22,926 stock units. Fosrich picked up 10 cents to end at $3.90, with investors swapping 500 units, General Accident lost 8 cents to end at $6.40 in trading 4,000 units, Honey Bun gained 30 cents, ending at $5.10 as investors swapped 5,006 units. Indies Pharma gained 19 cents and ended at $2.84, with and 14,008 stock units clearing the market, ISP Finance climbed $2 in closing at $15 in transferring 1,000 units, Jamaican Teas rose 63 cents to close at $4.69, after an exchange of 3,000 units. Jetcon Corporation slipped 4 cents to 80 cents trading 9,510 stock units, Knutsford Express finished 10 cents higher at $6.90, with a transfer of 3,649 shares, Lasco Distributors carved out a gain of 10 cents to close at $3.10,  with 51,906 shares crossing the market. Lasco Financial gained 2 cents to settle at $2.15, in trading 51,250 shares, Lasco Manufacturing lost 18 cents to end $3.61 after exchanging  6,000 units, Limners and Bards shed 12 cents in closing at $2.61, while trading 374,097 shares. Lumber Depot gained 6 cents to end at $1.05, with a transfer of 4,511 units, MailPac Group closed at $2, with a gain of 1 cent in trading 3,522,281 shares, Main Event rose 30 cents to end at $3.70, in exchanging 100 units and tTech shed 60 cents to settle at $5.50 with investors swapping 40,849 shares.

Junior Market slide continues on Tuesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market declining as more stocks fell than rose after nine percent more shares traded than on Monday.
Trading ended with 29 securities changing hands compared to 33   on Monday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, the prices of 12  declining and nine with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index declined by 35.17 points to settle at 2,445.75. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.1 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 2,668,027 shares for $10,621,549 compared to 2,428,264  units at $7,011,769 on Monday.
Caribbean Cream led trading with 1 million shares for 37.5 percent of total volume, followed by  Lasco Distributors with 315,000 units for 11.8 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 184,359 units for 6.9 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 92,001 units at $366,260 in contrast to 73,584 at $212,478  on Monday. Trading in August resulted in an average of 104,426 units at $321,996 trading.

Express Catering climbed 48 cents to settle at $3.94 with  115,504 stocks changing hands, Fosrich gained  20 cents and traded 100,750 stock units to close at $4, General Accident lost 3 cents to settle at $6.07 with investors transferring ownership of 15,589  stocks. Honey Bun gained 20 cents to finish at $5.10 with an exchange of 42,823 stock units, ISP Finance shed $2.59 to close at $12  with 841 shares traded, Jamaican Teas declined 10 cents to end at $4.60 with 34,457 units changing hands. Lasco Distributors fell 1 cent to $3 with investors switching ownership of 315,000 stocks,  Lasco Financial slipped 1 cent to close at $2.14 with an exchange of 20,600 shares, Limners and Bards rose 1 cent to settle at $2.70  with 135,880 stocks changing hands. Lumber Depot lost 1 cent to finish at 99 cents, with 184,359 units traded and tTech advanced by 70 cents to end at $6.10 with 12,467 units crossing the exchange.

Junior Market Index plunges

The Junior Market Index of the Jamaica Stock Exchange plunged 50.34 points to 2,480.92 on the last trading day of August, with the prices of 12 stocks rising, 16 declining and five remaining unchanged, after 33 securities changed hands compared to 25 on Friday.
At the close, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.2 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The Trading ended, with a 35 percent more shares passing through the market after investors exchanged  2,428,264 shares for $7,011,769 compared to  1,802,587   units at $6,948,536 on Friday. Mailpac Group led trading with 1.26 million shares for 51.8 percent of total volume followed  General Accident with 210,110 units for 8.7 percent of the day’s trade and iCreate with 210,000 units for 8.6 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 73,584 units at $212,478 in contrast to 72,103 at $277,941 on Friday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 104,414 units at  $321,996, in comparison to 106,156 units at $328,185 on Friday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.

In the preference segment of the junior market, CAC 2000 9.5% preference share gained  12 cents to settle at $1.15 with an exchange of just 100 shares.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange declined at the close on Thursday, with more stocks falling than rising after investors traded 43 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday.
Trading ended, with  32 securities changing hands, compared to 34 on  Wednesday and ended with the prices of 10 stocks rising, 15 stocks declining and  seven ending, with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index dropped by 28.47 points to settle at 2,536.12. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,477,937 shares for $6,120,418  compared to 2,584,097  units at $13,160,131 on Wednesday.
Lumber Depot  led trading with 380,966 shares for 25.8 percent of total volume followed by Lasco Manufacturing with 300,713 units for 20.3 percent of the day’s trade and Jamaican Teas with 188,647 units for 12.8 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 46,186 units at $191,263 in contrast to 76,003 at $387,063 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade was 107,679 units at $330,432, in comparison to 111,413 units at $338,882 on Wednesday. Trading in  July resulted in an average of 248,153 units changing hands at $668,727.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Wednesday, with the market rising as more stocks fell than rose after investors traded 10 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
Trading concluded with 34 securities changing hands compared to 31 on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 17 stocks rising, the prices of 12  declining and five with prices remaining unchanged.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market inching higher, even after more stocks fell than rose as investors traded 31 percent fewer shares at 51 percent less value than on Monday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 27 on Monday and ended with the prices of 11 stocks rising, the prices of 16 declining and four with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of 10.06 points to settle at 2,538.18. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 2,347,642 shares for $7,227,746  compared to 3,397,455  units at $14,814,214 on Monday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 563,033 shares for 24 percent of total volume followed by iCreate  with 321,388 units for 13.7 percent of the day’s trade and Limners and Bards with 274,649 units for 11.7 percent market share.

Junior Market loses ground on Friday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Friday, after declining, with more stocks falling than rising as investors traded five percent fewer shares but with a 15 percent higher value than on Thursday.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands compared to 31  on Thursday and concluded with the prices of 14 stocks rising, the prices of  13  declining and five with prices remaining unchanged. At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 32.10 points to finish the week at 2,507.17. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,217,915 shares for $3,340,277  compared to 1,285,358 units at $2,896,174 on Thursday.
On a day of low volumes, Indies Pharma led trading with 350,453 shares for 29 percent of total volume, followed by Mailpac Group with 293,441 units for 24 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 94,240 units for 7.7 percent market share.

Jetcon Corporation gained 4 cents to settle at 86 cents with 11,030 shares changing hands, Knutsford Express rose 9 cents to close at $6.90 in the exchange of 17,718  stock units, Lasco Distributors slipped 2 cents to $3.24 with investors transferring 6,165 units. Lasco Financial fell 13 cents to settle at $2.16 with 50,561 shares traded,  Lasco Manufacturing shed 28 cents to finish at $3.61 with 4,089 stock units changing hands, Limners and Bards gained 5 cents to close at $2.74 with an exchange of 28,282 stock units. Lumber Depot increased by 8 cents to end at $1.05 with investors transferring 32,270 stocks,  Mailpac Group advanced by 3 cents and traded  293,441 shares to close at $2.03, Main Event climbed 47 cents to end at $3.97 with 100 units changing hands. Medical Disposables declined by 5 cents to close at $4.90 in an exchange of 23,650 stock units, Stationery and Office Supplies gained 18 cents to finish at $5.79 trading 100 stocks and tTech rose 16 cents to close at $5.50 with 200 stocks crossing the exchange.
In the preference sector, Derrimon Trading preference share carved out a gain of 30 cents to finish at $2.30 with 100 stock units changing hands.

Junior Market drops on Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on  Wednesday, declined after more stocks fell than rose, with investors trading 45 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands compared to 27  on Tuesday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, 15 stocks declining and seven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 21.63 points to settle at 2,520.48, with the average PE Ratio of the market ending at 10.2 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,689,114 shares for $4,189,210  compared to 3,067,663 units at $10,483,436 on Tuesday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 517,864 shares for 30.7 percent of total volume, followed by Caribbean Producers with 204,759 units for 12.1 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 153,113 units for 9.1 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 56,304 units at $139,640 in contrast to 113,617 at $388,275 on Tuesday. The average trade for the month to date resulted in an exchange of 128,736 units at $368,689, in comparison to 135,090 units at $388,781 on Tuesday. Trading in July resulted in 248,153 units at $668,727 changing hands.

Fontana closed 4 cents higher at $4.99 in an exchange of 47,715 stock units, General Accident fell 57 cents to $5.93, with 67,329  stocks traded, Honey Bun lost 8 cents to end at $5.01 after exchanging 3,918 shares. iCreate lost 4 cents to finish at 61 cents with investors transferring 115,000 stock units, Iron Rock Insurance fell 10 cents to $3.10 with 100 stocks traded, Jamaican Teas dropped 25 cents to end at $4.60 after exchanging 48,256 shares. Steady Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market index just inching higher after advancing stocks edged out declining ones after investors traded 36 percent fewer shares than on Monday.
Trading ended with 27 securities changing hands compared to 34 on Monday and finished with 12 stocks rising, the prices of 11 shares declining and four remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of a mere 2 points to settle at 2,542.11, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,067,663 shares for $10,483,436 compared to 4,784,350  units at $13,556,616 on Monday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 1.16 million shares for 37.7 percent of total volume followed by General Accident with 757,455 units for 24.7 percent of the day’s trade and Everything Fresh with 404,909 units for 13.2 percent market share.

Junior market in big points drop

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Index dived 54.19 points to settle at 2,540.11 when the trading closed on Monday, after falling stocks, overwhelmed those rising and investors traded 38 percent more shares with four percent less value than on Friday.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 27 on Friday, with the prices of seven stocks rising, the prices of 19 declining and eight remaining unchanged.  At the close of the market, the average PE Ratio of the market ended
at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,784,350 shares for $13,556,616  compared to 3,470,609 units at $14,092,682 on Friday.Lasco Distributors led trading with 1.53 million shares for 31.9 percent of total volume followed by Everything Fresh with 747,741 units for 15.6 percent of the day’s trade and iCreate with 610,064 units for 12.8 percent market share.
