Pulse Investments traded more than 5.4 million shares in trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday out of a total of 12,393,354 units trading in the main and US dollar markets as the main market indices dived more than 2,690 points.
The volume of Pulse shares traded, is significant as it represents an unusually large amount that is out of line with normal trading levels for that company.
At the close on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday, the All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 2,954.25 points at 331,380.70, while the JSE Index dived 2,691.66 points to 301,925.23.
Stocks with major price changes are, Grace Kennedy down 74 cents to $52.26, NCB Financial falling 84 cents to $98.06, PanJam Investment dropping $4.77 to $52.80, Scotia Group down $1.60 to end at $50.40, Seprod dropping $3.40 to $31.60, Supreme Ventures rising $1 to $15 and Sterling Investments up $1 to $11.50.
At the close of market activity, 12,367,754 units valued at $115,843,551 changed hands compared to 6,586,973 units valued at $111,180,207, on Tuesday.
The other companies with major volume traded were, Wisynco Group with 1,408,344 units, accounting for just over 11 percent of the volume traded, followed by Jamaica Producers with 1,268,622 units or just over 10 percent of the main market volume, JMMB Group 7.5% preference share exchanged 1,151,126 shares and Sygnus Credit was next with 691,887 units.
Market activities in the main and US dollar markets resulted in 25 securities trading of which 8 advanced, 11 declined and 5 closing unchanged, compared to 28 securities trading on Tuesday.
In the US dollar market, 25,600 units traded valued at $2,816 with Sygnus Credit being the sole stock trading to end at 11 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index closed unchanged at 155.49.
Trading resulted in an average of 515,323 units valued at an average of $4,826,815 for each security traded, in contrast to 253,345 units valued at an average of $4,276,162 on Tuesday. For the month to date 232,741 units traded with an average value of $5,302,373 and on the previous day 218,900 units traded with an average value of $5,326,971 on average. May closed with an average of 589,414 shares with a value of $16,532.367, for each security traded.

PanJam jumps $5 to record high on Tuesday

PanJam Investment jumped $5.07 to a record high of $57.57, in trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, but the market indices dropped more than 1,000 points.
At the close on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,192.30 points to 334,334.95 while the JSE Index fell 1,086.32 points to 304,616.89.
Stocks with major price changes are, Carreras with a fall of $1 to $9, Grace Kennedy down $1 to $53, Portland JSX up 75 cents to $9.80, Salada Foods falling $2.50 to $10, Scotia Group rising 50 cents to end at $52, Supreme Ventures dropping $1.10 to $14 and Sygnus Credit rising 50 cents to $13.50.
At the close of market activity 6,586,973 units valued at $111,180,207 changed hands compared to 4,037,181 units valued at $55,669,184, on Monday.
Trading volume was dominated by Wisynco Group with 2,466,837 units, accounting for 37.45 percent of the volume traded, followed by Mayberry Investments with 835,956 units or just 12.69 percent of the main market volume and Carreras with 613,398 stock units or 9.3 percent.
Market activities in the main and US dollar markets resulted in 25 securities trading of which 7 advanced, 10 declined and 11 closing unchanged, compared to 30 securities trading on Monday.
In the US dollar market, 210,958 units traded valued at $38,935 with Margaritaville trading with 7,958 shares at 19.95 US cents compared to 20 US cents previously and Proven Investments traded 203,000 units at 20 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index dropped 6.30 points to close at 155.49.
Trading resulted in an average of 253,345 units valued at an average of $4,276,162 for each security traded, in contrast to 168,216 units for an average of $2,319,549 on Monday. For the month to date 216,970 units traded with an average value of $5,389,348 and on the previous day 219,629 units traded with an average value of $5,567,307 on average. JSE makes gains on Monday

At the close on the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, the All Jamaican Composite Index rose 867.41 points to 335,527.25 while the JSE Index gained 790.30 points to 305,703.21.
Stocks with major price changes are, Berger Paints with a fall of 90 cents to $21.10, Grace Kennedy rising by $1 to a record $54, JMMB Group rising $1.20 to $29, NCB Financial lost 90 cents to close at $99, Salada Foods fell $1.75 to $12.50, Scotia Group lost 50 cents to end at $51.50 and Supreme Ventures dropped 90 cents to $15.10 and Sygnus Credit fell 50 cents to $13.
At the close of market activity, 4,037,181 units valued at $55,669,184 compared to 19,346,217 units valued at $306,929,810 changed hands, on Friday.
Trading volume was dominated by JMMB Group 7.50% preference share with 1,618,000 units that accounted for 40.08 percent of the main market volume followed by Carreras with 677,448 stock units or 16.78 percent and Scotia Group with 363,434 shares.
Market activities in the main and US dollar markets resulted in 25 securities trading of which 7 advanced, 10 declined and 8 traded firm, compared to 30 securities trading on Friday.
In the US dollar market, 16,300 units valued at US$1,793 traded with Sygnus Credit Investments ended trading with 16,300 units at 11 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index lost 0.84 points to close at 161.79.
Trading resulted in an average of 168,216 units valued at an average of $2,319,549 compared to 691,163 units valued at $10,961,779 on Friday. Syngus Credit Jamaica stock dip below IPO price but teh US based rose.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market retreated on Tuesday after it gained on Monday following Friday’s losses as declining stocks had the upper hand over advancing ones.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index fell 634.73 points to 333,735.28 while the JSE Index slipped 578.31 points to 304,070.53, as declining stocks dominated trading.
Market activities in the main and US dollar markets resulted in 32 securities trading of which 9 advanced, 11 declined and 12 traded firm, compared to 22 securities trading on Monday.
At the close of market activity 6,395,222 units valued at $50,487,361 traded compared to 3,061,341 units valued at over $40,934,808 changed hands, on Monday.
Trading volume was dominated by 1834 Investments with 2 million units followed by Ciboney with 1,589,845 units and Mayberry Investments with 1,084,672 units.
Stocks with major price changes are, JMMB Group rising 50 cents to $29, Sagicor Group climbing $1.10 to $39.10 and Supreme Ventures gaining $1.09 to close at $15, Sygnus Credit falling $2.30 to a low of $13.70 and Productive Business Solution Preference share rose $2 to $105.
Trading resulted in an average of 220,525 units valued at over $1,740,943, in contrast to 113,383 shares valued at $1,516,104 on Monday. Market activities in the main and US dollar markets resulted in 28 securities trading, compared to 30 on Tuesday of which 9 advanced, 16 declined and 3 traded firm.
At the close of market activity 2,827,566 units valued at $112,242,230 traded compared to 4,703,010 shares valued at $61,534,534 changed hands, on Thursday.
Trading volume was dominated by NCB Financial Group with 766,949 units followed by Victoria Mutual Investments with 568,164 units and Caribbean Cement Company with 289,511 units.

Sagicor Group settled at $38.15 and lost 95 cents after trading 73,246 shares, Sagicor Real Estate Fund eased 1 cent and settled at $13.79, with 14,201 shares. Scotia Group rose 57 cents in closing trading at $50.60, with 46,014 units, Sterling Investments dropped $2.50 and closed at $9.50, with 591 shares, Supreme Ventures lost 30 cents and ended at $14.20, with 72,325 shares. Victoria Mutual Investments concluded trading with a fall of 10 cents at $4, exchanging 568,164 stock units and Wisynco Group rose 4 cents, finishing at $9.84, with 169,237 units. In the main market preference segment, JMMB Group 7.5% lost 4 cents and finished at $1.04, with 1,000 stock units changing hands.

While the main market indices fell, the order book for a number of main market stocks, shows buying interest rising. Caribbean Cement with more than 276,000 units on the bid at $40, Grace with bids at $50 and rising with very limited offers, Jamaica Broilers with god bids above $22 and limited offers, JMMB group with bids at $29 against limited offers, Scotia Group with strong bids around the $50 region and limited supply.
At the close on Thursday, 30 securities traded in the main and US dollar markets, up from 24 on Wednesday and resulted in 10 advancing, 12 declining and 8 remaining firm. Market activity ended with 4,703,010 shares valued at $61,534,534 changing hands, up from 2,236,723 units valued at a mere $34,192,073 trading on Wednesday.
Carreras closed trading with 2,060,114 units or 43.80 percent of traded volume, followed by Jamaica Money Market Brokers 7.50% preference share closed with 1,315,000 units or 27.96 percent of the day’s volume and Sagicor Group ended with 341,597 units amounting to 7.26 of the day’s traded volume.

Market activities resulted in 24 securities trading, compared to 25 on Tuesday in the main and US dollar markets of which 11 advanced, 7 declined and 6 traded firm.
Stocks with major price changes are, Caribbean Cement with a rise of $2.50 to $42, Grace Kennedy rose $1 to end at $51, JMMB Group lost 65 cents to end at $27.60, Kingston Properties lost 65 cents to end at $5.35 and Sagicor Group lost 70 cents and closed at $38.50. Supreme Ventures traded at a new high of $16 and ended at a new record close of $15.30.
The volume of stocks trading on the main market declined sharply to 2,236,723 units valued at a mere $34,192,073, down sharply from 11,446,622 units valued at $579,818,518 on Tuesday. Wisynco Group traded just 1,080,201 units to be the only security trading over a million shares.

The volume of stocks trading on the main market jumped sharply to 11,446,622 units valued at $579,818,518 from 3,192,844 units valued at $66,838,582, on Monday as NCB Financial Group accounted for 5,014,800 units traded amounting to 43.81 percent of the total volume traded. Supreme Ventures closed trading with 20.25 percent of the day’s volume amounting to 2,317,772 units and Jamaica Broilers with 1,005,810 units or just 8.79 percent of the overall volume.
