JSE Main Market rises

Market activity ended on Tuesday, with the volume of shares trading sliding with 16 percent less funds entering the market than Monday and led to the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market enjoying a bounce in the market indices at the close.
The All Jamaican Composite Index gained 596.89 points to end at 429,828.08, the Main Index rallied 707.19 points to 389,095.41 and the JSE Financial Index climbed 0.33 points to settle at 95.34.
A total of 50 securities traded similar to market activity on Monday, with 16 rising, 21 falling and 13 ending unchanged.

Trading ended with 7,587,100 shares changing hands for $150,880,078 versus 9,012,171 units at $158,576,454 on Monday. Transjamaican Highway controlled 24 percent of total volume to be the leading trade on Tuesday with 1.82 million shares, followed by JMMB Group accounting for 24 percent with 1.82 million units and Wigton Windfarm 14.3 percent with 1.08 million shares.

Main Market stocks drop to open week

Market activity ended on Monday, with the volume of shares trading rising 20 percent and the value ending 54 percent higher than on Friday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as rising stocks exceeded those declining by a narrow margin.
The All Jamaican Composite Index declined 1,914.65 points to 429,231.19, the JSE Main Index dropped 1,558.17 points to end at 388,388.22 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.42 points to close at 95.01.
Trading stirred 50 securities compared to 52 on Friday, with 19 rising, 17 declining and 14 ending unchanged.

JSE Main Market index jumps

Market activity ended on Friday with the volume and the value of shares trading declining 91 percent, respectively lower than on Thursday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as declining stocks crowed out those rising.
The All Jamaican Composite Index clawed back 39 percent of Thursday’s loss by jumping 3,101.27 points to 431,145.84, the JSE Main Index advanced 1,523.01 points, pulling back 23 percent of Thursday’s fall to close at 389,946.39 and the JSE Financial Index fell 0.40 points to finish at 95.43.
Trading ended with 52 securities up from 50 on Thursday, with 15 rising, 21 declining and 16 left unchanged.

Kingston Wharves had a hand in the clobbering the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market got on Thursday, with a block of 21.2 million units traded down to $36, some $2.50 lower than the last traded price on Wednesday. Elsewhere market activity ended with the volume of shares trading rising 1,419 percent and the value 3,391 percent higher than Wednesday as the number of stocks advancing and declining were equal.

Kingston Wharves traded 21 million shares.

The All Jamaican Composite Index plunged 7,919.02 points to 428,044.57, following the 1,705 points fall  Wednesday. The JSE Main Index dived 6,677.31 points, on top of the 2,730 points fall Wednesday, to 388,423.38 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 1.02 points to 95.83. A total of 50 securities traded down from 51 on Wednesday, with 21 rising, 21 declining and eight ending unchanged.

Investors engaged in a lacklustre trading session to start trading for the first day of the final month of 2021 resulted in an exchange of 27 percent fewer shares value 76 percent less than Tuesday. With a mere $32 million trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market and ended with declining stocks outnumbering those falling.
The All Jamaican Composite Index fell 1,704.80 points to 435,963.59, the JSE Main Index dived 2,729.98 points to 395,100.69 and the JSE Financial Index shed 1.43 points to end at 96.85.

Market activity ended on Tuesday with robust gains for the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market. The All Jamaican Composite Index jumped by 4,559.46 points to 437,668.39, just over 7,000 points below the close for October. The JSE Main Index surged 5,036.25 points to 397,830.67 and the JSE Financial Index rose 1.80 points to 98.28. The volume of stocks trading slipped at the close on Tuesday with the market ending, with rising stocks exceeding those decliners 2 to 1.
A total of 51 securities traded compared to 59 on Monday, with 24 rising, 12 declining and 15 ending unchanged.

Main Market rally not on solid ground

Market activity ended on Monday with the volume of shares trading rising 37 percent and the value climbing 33 percent higher than on Friday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as rising stocks lagged those declining by a big margin of one to two.

Trading plunges on JSE Main market

Market activity ended on Thursday with the volume of shares declining 25 percent and the value plunging 26 percent lower than on Wednesday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market as rising stocks failed to match those declining.
The All Jamaican Composite Index dived 2,262.59 points to 431,950.73, the JSE Main Index shed 1,959.04 points to 390,804.57 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.88 points to end at 94.97.
Overall 52 securities traded up from 51 on Wednesday, with 17 rising, 21 declining and 14 ending unchanged.

Key Insurance rallied 36 cents to $4.39 in transferring 2,600 units, Palace Amusement dropped $45 in closing at $985, with 105 stock units changing hands, Proven Investments dipped 30 cents to end at $33.30 with a transfer of 15,877 shares. Sagicor Group rose 50 cents to $52.70 after an exchange of 73,402 stocks, Scotia Group lost 40 cents ending at $34.50, with 15,947 stock units changing hands, Seprod dipped 55 cents to $63.20 in exchanging 6,169 units. Supreme Ventures fell 63 cents in closing at $17.85 with the swapping of 73,324 shares and Sygnus Credit Investments rose 99 cents to $15.99, with 159,129 stocks crossing the market.
In the preference segmentEppley 7.50% preference share shed 90 cents to settle at $6 in trading 130 units and Productive Business Solutions 9.75% preference shares advanced $28.90 to close at $101 after crossing the exchange with one stock unit.

Overall, 51 securities traded compared to 50 on Tuesday, with 26 rising, 17 declining and eight unchanged. The All Jamaican Composite Index spiked 2,767.79 points to 434,213.32, the JSE Main Index jumped 2,471.24 points to 392,763.61 and the JSE Financial Index rallied 0.42 points to end at 95.85.

Guardian Holdings spiked $20 to $540 in an exchange of 334 stocks, Jamaica Broilers shed $2 to end at $28.70 in trading 14,930 units, Jamaica Producers rallied $2.50 in closing at $23.95 in switching ownership of 20,200 stocks. JMMB Group popped 61 cents to $38.80 after transferring 223,545 shares, Kingston Wharves lost 30 cents in closing at $43.70 with the swapping of 100 units, Mayberry Investments gained 31 cents to $7.81 in trading 41,417 stock units.
