JSE index at new record close Friday

NCB stock traded at a high of $81 on Friday, helping to fuel another record clsoe for the main market.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Market Index climbed another 655.78 points on Friday to another record close of 241,606.22, the second consecutive day of record close.
The All Jamaica Composite Index closed within 212 points of the record close of May 17, this year, with the index advancing 719.76 points to close at 265,176.94.  The JSE US dollar market index closed at 188.42 with 1 security trading in the US dollar market.
At the close of trading, 25 securities changed hands in the main market leading to 15 stocks advancing including two new highs and 9 declining. The main market ended with 2,406,199 units valued at $41,645,948 changing hands compared to 4,006,769 units valued at $51,512,263 at the close on Wednesday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 9,113 units valued at US$9,113 bringing the total of all trades to just J$41,925,899.

JSE surged to record close on Thursday

NCBFG closed at a record of $77 and helped push the old market index to a new record on Thursday.

Big movement in some Jamaica Stock Exchange prices on Thursday saw the JSE Market Index jumping 3,189.90 points to surprisingly end at an all-time record high of 240,950.44, bettering the previous record of 240,759.97 at the close of May 17 this year.
The All Jamaica Composite Index surged 3,501.11 points to 264,457.18, closing within 1,000 points of the all-time record close reached in May this year. The JSE US dollar market index fell 1.47 points to close at 188.42 with 2 trading in the US dollar market.
At the close of trading, 24 securities changed hands in the main market, leading to 12 stocks advancing and 7 declining. The main market ended with 4,006,769 units valued at $51,512,263 changing hands compared to 2,974,171 units valued at $46,072,557 at the close on Wednesday. Big jump in JSE indices on Wednesday

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange indices rose sharply at the close on Wednesday with the All Jamaica Composite Index advanced 3,380.75 points to close at 260,956.07, the JSE Market Index rose 3,080.24 points to 237,760.54 and the JSE US dollar market index gained 0.89 points to close at 189.89.
At the close of trading, 24 securities changed hands in the main market with 1 trading in the US dollar market, leading to 14 stocks advancing and 4 declining. The main market ended with 2,974,171 units valued at $46,072,557 changing hands compared to 2,850,716 units valued at $31,654,846 at the close on Tuesday. JSE main indices jump sharply – Friday

NCB Financial Group jumped $2.99 on Friday helping to push indices nearly 2,000 points.

Price movements of Jamaica Stock Exchange main market stocks drove the indices up sharply at the close on Friday, with a slightly negative advance decline ratio. While declining stocks  were greater than advancing ones, big gains of $2.99 in the price of NCB Financial, 4 cents in Cable & Wireless, 50 cents in Jamaica Producers and $2.05 for Pan Jam Investment, helped in pushing the overall market value higher.
A moderate trading ended, with the All Jamaica Composite Index jumped 1,880.59 points to close at 256,031.54, the JSE Market Index climbed 1,713.43 points to 233,273.75 and the JSE US dollar market index inched higher by 0.32 points to close at 188.43.
At the close of trading, 23 securities changed hands in the main market with 2 trading in the US dollar market, leading to 10 stocks advancing and 11 declining. The main market ended with 1,934,322 units valued at $34,659,775 changing hands compared to 1,519,865 units valued at $35,445,679 at the close on Thursday. JSE majors slip on Monday

C&W jumped 17.5% to close at 94 cents on Monday.

Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 125,186 units valued at US$29,442, bringing the total of all trades to just J$17,409,489. At the close, the All Jamaica Composite Index declined 474.81 points to 255,922.08, the JSE Market Index declined 432.60 points to 233,174.01 and the JSE US dollar market index gained 8.79 points to end at 181.86.
At the close of trading, 22 securities changed hands in the main market with 1 trading in the US dollar market, leading to 10 stocks advancing and 11 declining.

Jamaica Broilers closed at $18, with a loss of 20 cents trading 41,365 shares, Jamaica Producers was down 25 cents to close at $14.50 with 2,100 shares changing hands. Jamaica Stock Exchange closed at $6.50, with trades of 14,455 shares, JMMB Group lost 6 cents, closing at $19.25 while exchanging 346,670 shares, Kingston Properties traded 2,000 units, with gains of 5 cents to close at $8.85, Kingston Wharves closed at $30, with a loss of 40 cents with the exchange 1,998 units. Mayberry Investments lost 5 cents to close at $4.65 with 100 units switching owners, NCB Financial Group gained 50 cents to close at $72, after exchanging 818 shares, PanJam Investment traded $3.91 higher, closing at $33.91 with 4,271 shares, Proven Investments declined 38 cents to close at $24.63 with 112,186 shares exchanged, Pulse Investments traded 17,144 shares at $2.59, having gained 10 cents, Radio Jamaica closed at $1.50, gaining 7 cents with 1,150 shares changing hands. Sagicor Group traded 14,566 shares at $32, Sagicor Real Estate Fund closed at $13.50, with gains of 10 cents trading only 100 units. Scotia Group declined 59 cents to close at $41.50, with 28,297 shares trading, Seprod dived $3.48 in closing at $26.52 with a mere 570 shares switching owners. Proven Investments US ordinary shares closed at 23.9 US cents, gaining 0.02 US cents in trading 125,186 units and Proven 8.25% preference share closed 10 cents lower to $5 exchanging 10,300 units.

JSE Main market falls Friday

Trading on the main market stocks of the Jamaica Stock Exchange picked up over Thursday’s levels but declining stocks numbered more than advancing ones leading to declines in the market indices by more than 1,300 points.
At the close of trading, 26 securities changed hands in the main market with 2 trading in the US dollar market, leading to 10 stocks advancing and 12 declining. The main market ended with 4,292,363 units valued at $81,728,669 changing hands compared to 1,294,238 units valued at $29,684,333 at the close on Thursday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 136,527 units valued at US$46,401, bringing the total of all trades to J$87,681,879.
At the end of trading, the All Jamaica Composite Index declined 1,429.83 points to close at 256,396.89, the JSE Market Index lost 1,302.74 points to 233,606.61. The JSE US dollar market index gained 0.45 to close at 173.07.

Proven Investments US ordinary shares closed at 22 US cents trading 118,527 units, JMMB Group US 6% preference share exchanged 18,000 units at US$1.12 and JMMB Group7.5% preference share gained 1 cent to close at $1.11, with trades of 953 units.

Big bounce for JSE majors – Wednesday

Proven Investment ended at a new closing high of $24.61 on the JSE main market.

The main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange climbed sharply at the close on Wednesday as more stocks rose than fall, helping to drive the indices up by more than 2,300 points.

At the close, the All Jamaica Composite Index jumped 2,558.93 points to  258,475.28, just 1,000 points lower than the close on Thursday last week, before it dropped on Friday by 5,207.13 points.
At the end of trading, the JSE Market Index surged 2,331.48 points to 235,500.26 and the JSE US dollar market index closed unchanged at 172.17. Twenty five (25) securities changed hands in the main market, with 2 trading in the US dollar market, leading to 11 stocks advancing and 6 declining. The main market ended with 2,769,523 units valued at $67,527,250 changing hands compared to 4,342,047 units valued at $87,253,212 at the close on Tuesday. Trading in the US dollar market accounted for 219,087 units valued at US$86,787 and brought the total trading to $78,662,040.
