Trading ended with the All Jamaican Composite Index climbing 1,858.93 points to close at 562,952.77, the JSE Index gaining 1,709.62 points to 512,237 and the JSE Financial Index added 0.90 points to close at 140.01.
Market activity ended with 22,990,176 units valued at $375,090,753 in contrast to 18,599,441 units valued at $235,193,270 on Monday.
Wigton Windfarm dominated trading with 11.6 million shares for 50 percent of total volume, followed by Sagicor Select Funds with 4.3 million units accounting for 19 percent of the day’s trade, Grace Kennedy with 3.4 million shares for 15 percent of the market’s trades.
The Market closed with an average of 696,672 units valued at an average of $11,366,386 for each security traded, in contrast to 531,413 units valued at an average of $6,719,808 on Monday. Seprod ended the day’s trade $1.40 lower to settle at $53 with 27,451 units changing hands, Supreme Ventures lost 50 cents to close at $26.50 exchanging 454,549 shares and Wisynco lost 40 cents, settling at $23 with trades of 308,695 units.
Trading in the US dollar market ended with 27,910 units valued at over US$7,549 with the market index gaining 0.15 points to close at 200.01. Proven Investments traded 24,700 shares to close at 26 US cents, Sygnus Credit Investments closed at 14 US cents after 2,851 shares traded and JMMB Group 5.75% preference shares traded 359 shares to close at US$2.

JSE closed down but most stocks rise
Trading on the main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended on Friday with advancing stocks outnumbering declining ones two to one but the market indices ended down.
At the close of trading, 37 securities changed hands in the main and US dollar markets with 19 advancing, 10 declining and 8 traded firm. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index lost 257.65 points to close at 564,991.17, the JSE Index dipped 287.95 points to 514,143.38 and the JSE Financial Index closed down 0.42 points at 140.19.
Market activity ended with 36 securities trading and leading to 32,896,372 units valued at $273,937,492 crossing the exchange, in contrast to 127,989,935 units valued at $1,190,939,292 from 36 securities on Thursday.
Wigton Windfarm dominated trading with 18.4 million shares for 56 percent of total volume, followed by Carreras with 8.1 million units accounting for 25 percent of the day’s trade, Sagicor Select Funds with 2.4 million shares for 7 percent of the market’s trade.
The Market closed with an average of 913,788 units valued at an average of 7,609,375 for each security traded, in contrast to 3,555,276 units valued at an average of $33,081,647 on Thursday. Salada Foods climbed $2 to $32, after exchanging 60,276 shares, Scotia Group gained 50 cents to end at $57.50 with trades of 77,639 shares, Seprod advanced $2.59 to settle at $56.10 with 4,900 units changing hands. Supreme Ventures gained 40 cents to end at $28 exchanging 349,173 shares, Sygnus Credit Investments lost 90 cents after trading 13,267 to settle at $23.10 and Victoria Mutual Investments added 50 cents after 401,515 units changed hands to close at $8.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange ended with 12 securities rising, 13 with losses and 13 traded firm as 38 securities traded on Wednesday, compared to 34 stocks trading on Tuesday.
The market closed with the JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declining 11,780.29 points to close at 562,335.23, the JSE Index dropped 1,615.40 points to 511,824.86 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.57 points to close at 139.57.
Market activity ended with 36,372,802 units valued at over $343,567,278, in contrast to 39,479,470 units valued at $797,391,912 on Tuesday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with over 22 million shares for 60.5 percent of total volume, followed by Supreme Ventures with 6.8 million units accounting for 19 percent of the day’s trade and Sagicor Select Fund with over 3.6 million shares for 10 percent of the main market’s volume.

More decline for JSE main market – Wednesday
The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market closed down on Wednesday, with advancing outpaced by declining stocks for the second consecutive day as some investors seek cash to buy into a new IPO that is on offer in the market.
The market ended, with 36 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 11 advancing, 15 declining and 10 trading to close with no price change, compared to 35 securities trading on Tuesday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 560.38 points to close at 568,175.92, the JSE Index shed 594.41 points to 517,224.50 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.24 points to end at 141.83.
Market activity led to 50,725,660 units valued at $109,446,038 changing hands, in contrast to 25,607,960 units valued at $336,490,907 crossing the main market on Tuesday.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 30.8 million shares for 61 percent of total volume, followed by Sagicor Select Fund with 10.4 million units accounting for 21 percent of the day’s trade and JMMB Group 7.5% preference share with 6.7 million shares for 12 percent of the main market’s volume.

JSE main market turns north
The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market closed higher on Friday, following days of declines earlier in the week as investors pushed prices down for five days ahead moving the majority upon the final trading day of August.
The market ended, with 42 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 17 securities advancing, 13 declining and 6 trading firm, compared to 38 securities trading on Thursday.
The All Jamaican Composite Index climbed 3,806.39 points to close at 571,532.50, the JSE Index advanced by 3,491.26 points to 520,410.28 but the JSE Financial Index lost 0.25 points to end at 140.70. The main market ended up with a strong 37 percent for the year to date and the JSE Financial Index pushed 40.7 percent higher since it started in March.
Radio Jamaica traded at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.58 but pulled back to close at $2.07 at the end of the day to be up 144 percent for the year to date and the second best-performing stock on the main market after Jamaica Stock Exchange 175 percent year to date gain.
Market activity ended with 24,252,652 units valued at $191,230,760, in contrast to 26,941,759 units valued at $106,274,247 crossing the main market on Thursday.
Sagicor Select Fund was the leading traded stock with 13.44 million shares accounting for 55.4 percent of total volume, Wigton Windfarm followed with 3.6 million units accounting for 15 percent of the day’s trade and Radio Jamaica with 3.1 million shares for 13 percent of the main market’s volume.
Trading closed with an average 638,228 units valued $5,032,388 for each security traded, in contrast to 748,382 units for an average of $2,952,062 on Thursday. Trading in the US securities market resulted in 164,058 units valued $20,560 changing hands with EPPLEY 5% preference share traded 1,000 units at 98 US cents, JMMB Group 5.75% with 3,200 units at JMMB Group 6% preference share rose 1 cent with 300 units to close at US$1.01, Proven Investments concluded trading of 123,418 shares and settled at 26 US cents, Sterling Investments with 21,657 units 0.221 US cents and Sygnus Credit Investments traded 141,289 shares with a rise of 1.5 cents to 13.5 US cents. The JSE USD Equities Index advanced 0.47 points to close at 190.72.
JSE main market down again – Thursday
The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market dropped again on Thursday, following declines on Monday and Tuesday with falling stocks being greater than advancing ones.
The market ended, with 40 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 17 securities advancing, 13 declining and 10 closing trading unchanged, compared to 36 securities trading on Wednesday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,739.12 points to close at 567,726.11, the JSE Index dropped 1,554.78 points to 516,919.02 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.46 points to end at 140.95.
Radio Jamaica traded at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.38 and Eppley Property Fund traded at a high of $50 during the day.
Market activity ended with 26,941,759 units valued at $106,274,247, in contrast to 28,858,713 units valued at $171,067,891 crossing the main market on Wednesday.
Sagicor Select Fund was the leading traded stock with 16.3 million shares accounting for 61 percent of total volume, Wigton Windfarm followed with 5.4 million units accounting for 20 percent of the day’s trade and Radio Jamaica with 2 million shares for 8 percent of the main market’s volume.
Trading closed with an average 748,382 units valued at $2,952,062 for each security traded. In contrast to 848,786 units for an average of $5,031,409 on Thursday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 1,802,087 units valued at $10,180,422 and previously, 1,857,872 units valued at $10,584,492 for each security traded. July closed with an average of 1,297,718 shares at $17,985,644 for each security traded.

JMMB Group lost 30 cents to end at $50.50 with 27,522 stock units trading, NCB Financial gained $1.40 to settle at $211 with 36,419 shares changing hands, Portland JSX gained 50 cents to end at $7.50, trading 15,000 shares, Radio Jamaica climbed 43 cents to close at a 52 weeks’ high of $2.38 with an exchange of 2,063,550. Sagicor Group added 49 cents to end at $73, in trading 46,860 shares, Sagicor Real Estate Fund lost 70 cents to end at $10.80, in trading 51,105 shares, Sygnus Credit Investments dipped $1.50 to end at $21, trading 67,161 stock units, Seprod gained 62 cents to end at $52, while trading 100,878 shares. Supreme Ventures lost $1.30 to end at $25.20, trading 71,034 shares and Wisynco Group rose 85 cents to settle at $22.85 with 96,697 shares changing hands.

The Jamaica Stock Exchange main market dropped again on Wednesday, following declines on Monday and Tuesday with falling stocks being greater than advancing ones.
The market ended, with 36 securities trading in the main and US dollar markets, leading to 13 securities advancing, 17 declining and 6 trading with prices unchanged, compared to 39 securities trading on Tuesday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index dived 4,471.18 points to close at 569,465.23, the JSE Index dropped 4,063.14 points to close at 518,473.80 and the JSE Financial Index lost 1.30 point to end at 141.41. Radio Jamaica traded at a 52 weeks’ high of $1.99 while Sagicor Select Fund traded at a low of $1.15 during the day.
Market activity ended with 28,858,713 units valued at $171,067,891, in contrast to 26,222,630 units valued at $112,910,151 crossing the main market on Tuesday.
Sagicor Select Fund was the leading traded stock with 15.9 million shares accounting for 55 percent of total volume, Wigton Windfarm followed with 8.9 million units accounting for 31 percent of the day’s trade and Radio Jamaica with 1.37 million shares for 5 percent of the main market’s volume.
