Slippage for JSE Main Market

Trading for the week continued to seesaw with the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market declining marginally on Thursday following Wednesday’s four-digit index fall with more stocks declining than rising after an exchange of 29 percent fewer shares than on Wednesday with 200 percent increased value.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index shed 469.19 points to 425,750.84, the Main Index lost 370.18 points to 388,653.19 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.12 points to settle at 101.22.
Similar to trading Wednesday the market close with 45 securities changing hands with prices of 14 stocks rising, 23 declining and eight remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 13,243,734 shares for $907,847,284 compared to 18,734,982 units at $302,910,320 on Wednesday. NCB Financial led trading with 45.5 percent of total volume, after exchanging 6.02 million shares followed by Wisynco Group with 8.4 percent for 1.11 million units and QWI Investments with 7.1 percent for 940,061 stock units.
Trading for the day averaged 294,305 units at $20,174,384 for each security, compared to an average of 416,333 shares at $6,731,340 on Wednesday. Month to date averaged 311,235 units at $5,303,669 for each security, in contrast to 312,683 units at $4,031,460 on Wednesday. November averaged 623,120 units at $6,686,047.

Salada Foods advanced by $2.98 to $29, in an exchange of 1,000 units, Scotia Group dropped $1 to close at $44, after the transferring of 30,250 shares, Seprod lost 55 cents in closing at $66.45, with 1,813 units changing hands and Wisynco Group slipped 98 cents to close at $15.50, with 1,114,154 shares passing through the market.

Rising volume falling prices

Market activity resulted in more stocks declining than rising at the end of trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Wednesday after an exchange of 149 percent more shares than on Tuesday and the value surging by 196 percent.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 2,513.76 points to 426,220.03, the Main Index lost 2,243.25 points to settle at 389,023.37 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.58 points to close at 101.34.
Trading ended with 45 securities changing hands compared to 43 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 14 stocks rising, 16 declining and 15 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 18,734,982 shares for $302,910,320 compared to 7,525,461 units at $102,351,143 on Tuesday. Mayberry Jamaican Equities led trading with 53.4 percent of total volume, after an exchange of 10 million shares followed by Grace Kennedy with 16.7 percent for 3.14 million units, Transjamaican Highway with 5.6 percent for 1.05 million units and QWI Investments with 5.6 percent for 1.05 million units changing hands.

JSE Main Market climbs again

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market ended trading on Tuesday with gains after more stocks advanced than declined after trading accounted for 110 percent funds chasing stocks and driving the market indices higher by up to 2,000 points.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index climbed 2,008.23 points to 428,733.79, the Main Index advanced 1,833.71 points to 391,266.62 and the JSE Financial Index rose 0.41 points to 101.92.
Trading ended with 43 securities changing hands for a second consecutive day and with prices of 19 stocks rising, 14 declining and 10 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.8 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 7,525,461 shares for $102,351,143 up from 7,084,366 units at $48,587,272 on Monday. Transjamaican Highway led trading with 17.7 percent of total volume, trading 1.33 million shares, followed by Wigton Windfarm with 16.5 percent for 1.24 million units and QWI Investments with 12.1 percent for 908,796 units.
Trading for the day averaged 175,011 units at $2,380,259 for each security, compared to an average of 164,753 shares at $1,129,937 on Monday. The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market indices recorded more gains on Friday to end with the highest reading for the week but more than 4,000 points lower than the close of the previous week after an exchange of 327 percent more shares and changed hands with an increase of 134 percent in values over Thursday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index rose 1,581.20 points to 429,895.90, the Main Index advanced 1,446.63 points to 392,235.25 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.10 points to settle at 102.30.
Trading ended with 43 securities changing hands, down from 46 on Thursday, with the prices of 19 stocks rising, 12 declining and 12 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors exchanged 22,148,337 shares, with a consideration of $106,842,072 compared to 5,190,810 units at $45,639,960 on Thursday. The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market indices regained momentum in trading on Thursday after an exchange of 23 percent more shares traded than on Wednesday but with more stocks falling than rising.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index advanced by 4,980.27 points to 428,314.70, the Main Index climbed 4,490.67 points to 390,788.62 and the JSE Financial Index rose 2.00 points to settle at 102.20.
Trading ended with 46 securities changing hands compared to 44 on Wednesday and closed with the prices of 14 stocks rising, 18 declining and 14 remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading resulted in 5,190,810 shares changing hands for $45,639,960 compared to 4,210,405 units at $40,575,680 on Wednesday. Big gains for JSE Main Market indices

The Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market regained some of the grounds lost on Monday with the market index rising after an exchange of 33 percent more shares than on Monday, despite more stocks falling than rising and values down marginally.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index climbed 1,991.05 points to 429,520.28, the Main Index advanced by 1,803.16 points to 391,895.69 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.90 points to settle at 102.67.
Trading ended with 46 securities changing hands similar to that on Monday and closed with the prices of 16 stocks rising, 21 declining and nine remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.2 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors traded 28,767,472 shares for $57,416,333 compared to 21,659,826 units at $60,805,085 on Monday. QWI Investments led trading with 70.7 percent of total volume, after exchanging 20.33 million shares followed by Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 8.7 percent for 2.51 million units. Prices tumbled on Monday and sent the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market indices diving sharply lower after the value of shares trading tumbled 94 percent below Friday’s out-turn.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index dived 6,819.00 points to 427,529.23, the Main Index dropped 6,331.19 points to 390,092.53 and the JSE Financial Index shed 2.36 points to settle at 101.77.
Trading ended with 46 securities changing hands compared to 41 on Friday and closed with the prices of 15 stocks rising, 24 declining and seven remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ended at 16.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Investors traded 21,659,826 shares for $60,805,085 compared to 26,035,964 units at $1,185,955,996 on Friday. Transjamaican Highway led trading with 73.7 percent of total volume, after exchanging 15.96 million shares, followed by Wigton Windfarm with 7.1 percent for 1.53 million units and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 3.7 percent market share for 794,869 units.

JSE Main Market rises again

Stocks bounced sharply in early trading on Friday on the Main Market Jamaica Stock Exchange with the All Jamaica Composite index rising to more than 437,454 points. just after 11:30 AM, but ended a bit lower at the close on Friday after an exchange of 300 percent more shares after 14 times more funds were exchanged than on Thursday.
At the close, the All Jamaican Composite Index advanced 1,075.26 points to end at 434,348.23, the Main Index rose 973.03 points to 396,423.72 and the JSE Financial Index gained 0.50 points to settle at 104.13.

The volume and value of stocks trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market climbed 15 percent and resulting from a 66 percent jump in the funds expended above Wednesday levels with just one more security changing hands.

Sagicor Real Estate Fund climbed $1.22 to $8.97 after exchanging 19,020 units, Seprod shed 99 cents to finish at $64.01, with 5,814 units changing hands, Sterling Investments lost 40 cents in closing at $3.20 after trading 11,775 units.
