The Junior Market continued its downward trend, falling 12.88 points to close at 3,098.16, with 30 securities changing hands and the price of 10 securities advancing, 10 declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,878,404 units valued at $6,417,405 compared to 2,469,369 units valued at $7,388,636 from 35 securities on Tuesday.
Trading ended with an average of 62,613 units at $213,914 for each security traded in contrast to 70,553 units for an average of $211,104 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 146,806 units valued at $535,724 and previously 151,001 units at $551,762 for each security. In contrast, December closed with an average of 521,319 shares at $1,344,719 for each security traded. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 13.1 based on earnings for 2019.

Lasco Manufacturing lost 7 cents to close at $4.18 with 17,645 crossing the exchange, Limners and Bards gained 1 cent to settle at $2.90, after trading 13,610 shares, Lumber Depot ended swapping 80,966 shares, after rising 2 cents to close at $1.53. MailPac Group closed 14 cents higher at $2.10, with 353,900 stock units trading, Medical Disposables climbed 50 cents and exchanged 1,000 shares at $7.20, Paramount Trading closed 3 cents higher at $1.73, with 2,812 stock units trading. Stationery and Office Supplies ended with a loss of 1 cent at $9.01 with 40,711 stock units changing hands and tTech closed trading of 932 units and gained 2 cents to end at $5.62.

JSE Junior Market down 7% in January

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange continues to struggle on Tuesday with 25.98 points slashed off the close of the index on Monday and is down 7.1 percent for the year to date to close on Tuesday at 3,111.04.
The market closed with 33 securities changing hands, with the prices of 9 securities advanced, 18 declined and 8 remained unchanged, resulting in an exchange of 2,469,369 units valued at $7,388,636, compared to 2,881,585 units valued at $9,881,495 from 33 securities on Monday.
Trading ended with an average of 70,553 units at $211,104 for each security traded, in contrast to 87,321 units for an average of $299,439 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 151,001 units at $551,762 and previously 150,098 units valued at $541,417 for each security. In contrast, December closed with an average of 521,319 shares at $1,344,719 for each security traded. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 13.2 based on earnings for 2019.

Junior Market drops 6.3% for 2019

The Junior Market is down 6.3% for 2019, but the fall may be close to an end at the market is close to a support level going back to the beginning of 2018 and as far back as 2015.

Investors did more damage to the Junior Market at the close of trading on Monday, in cutting 23.47 points off the close of the index on Friday, to end on the first day of the week at 3,137.02, down 6.3 percent for the year to date.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands, leading to the prices of 13 securities advancing, 14 declining and 6 remaining unchanged. The market closed with an exchange of 2,881,585 units valued at $9,881,495 compared to 2,690,069 units valued at $8,684,726 from 33 securities on Friday. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 13.7 based on earnings for 2019.
Trading ended with an average of 87,321 units at $299,439 for each securities changing hands, in contrast to 81,517 units for an average of $263,174 on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 155,967 units valued at $572,790 for each company traded and previously 150,098 units valued at $541,417. In contrast, December closed with an average of 521,319 shares at $1,344,719 for each security traded.

Key Insurance added 1 cent to end at $3.80, with 23,000 stock units trading, KLE Group exchanged 27,107 shares, after rising 76 cents to finish at $2.80, Knutsford Express lost 65 cents in trading of 358 units at $9.55. Lasco Distributors dropped 3 cents in trading 923,118 shares to close at $3.13, Lasco Financial ended with a loss of 1 cent at $3.95 with 32,534 stock units changing hands, Lasco Manufacturing climbed 35 cents and exchanged 162,698 shares at $4.50. Lumber Depot declined by 4 cents to settle at $1.59 with 419,324 units crossing the exchange, Main Event fell 6 cents in trading of 73,238 units at $6, Medical Disposables closed with a loss of 50 cents to end at $7, after swapping 10,000 shares. Paramount Trading ended trading with 2,000 shares, after rising 5 cents to settle at $1.75, SSL Venture closed the day with 200 shares traded, after gaining 2 cents to finish at $1.10 and tTech lost 40 cents in trading of 12,300 units at $5.60.

Trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended on Monday with Market Index advanced by 26.06 points to close at 3,235.07 from an equal number of stocks rising and falling.
At the close of market activities, the prices of 15 securities advanced, 15 declined and two remained unchanged, resulting in the average PE Ratio ending at 14.2 times earnings for 2019
Market activity ended with 32 securities changing hands and an exchange of 3,592,718 units valued at $9,412,656, compared to 4,639,848 units valued at $13,835,204 from 33 securities on Friday.
Trading ended with an average of 112,272 units for an average of $294,146 in contrast to 140,601 units for an average of $419,249 on Friday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 164,155 valued at $643,813 and previously 168,606 valued at $673,811. In contrast, December closed with an average of 521,319 shares at $1,344,719 for each security traded.

Lasco Distributors fell 13 cents and completed market activity exchanging 79,999 shares to close at $3.16, Lasco Financial lost 10 cents trading 52,450 stock units to close at $4.30, Lasco Manufacturing climbed 15 cents and exchanged 98,768 shares at $4.31. Limners and Bards ended with a loss of 1 cent at $2.99, with 28,873 stock units changing hands. Lumber Depot climbed 19 cents and exchanged 1,018,540 shares at $1.80, MailPac rose 2 cents in transferring of 459,048 shares at $2.07. Carreras & Medical Disposable lead TOP 10

The past week saw significant fluctuations in prices of several stocks, leading to notable declines in the market indices of the Junior and Main Market and resulting in some changes in the TOP 10 stocks.
The Junior Market lost General Accident and Lasco Distributors and welcomed back Jetcon Corporation and Dolphin Cove. In the JSE Main Market, the price of NCB Financial fell to $190, with the stock edging out Pulse Investments in the process.
The JSE Main Market ended the week, with an overall PE of 21.1 and the Junior Market 14.2, based on current 2019 earnings. The PE ratio for Junior Market Top 10 stocks averages 9.2 with the Main Market at 11.1.
The targeted average PE ratio is 25, with several stocks trading at that level or just under, in 22 times region, currently. The TOP 10 shares now trade at a discount of 35 percent of the average for Junior Market and Main Market stocks trade at a discount of 47 percent to the overall market.
The average projected gain for the IC TOP 10 stocks is 177 percent for the Junior Market and 129 percent for the JSE Main Market, based mostly on 2019 earnings.
The top three Junior Market stocks are Medical Disposables with projected gains of 257 percent, followed by Main Event with 232 percent and Jamaican Teas is in the third spot with 187 percent likely capital gain, with the price pulling back from $7.40 at the start of the week to $6.98 at the close. During the week, Jamaican Teas announced a three for one stock split, subject to approval by shareholders.
During the week, Sygnus Credit Investments US dollar-based stock that surged to number one spot on the Jamaican Stock Exchange Main Market at the end of the prior week climbed to 18 US cents and moved to the sixth position. Carreras now leads the TOP 10 Main Market stocks with projected gains with 176 percent, followed by Radio Jamaica in the number two spot, with 166 percent and Berger Paints with 152 percent.
IC TOP 10 stocks are likely to deliver the best returns to March this year. Forecasted earnings and PE ratio for the current fiscal year are in determining potential gains. The stocks are ranked in the order of likely increases, with the highest-ranked, being the most attractive. Expected values will change as stock prices fluctuate and will result in movements of the selection in and out of the lists for most weeks. Earnings per share are revised on an ongoing basis as new information is received that can result in changes in and out of the list.

Junior Market dips again Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange slipped again on Wednesday with the market Index falling 10.92 points to end at 3,245.42 as prices of 13 securities advanced, 14 declined and 10 remained unchanged.
The number of securities changing hands rose to 37, up from 33 on Tuesday and resulted in an exchange of 6,024,104 units valued at $19,766,505 compared to 3,923,066 units valued at $17,832,838 on Tuesday.
At the close of market activities, the market’s average PE Ratio remained at 14.2 earnings for 2019.
Trading ended with an average of 162,814 units for an average of $534,230 in contrast to 118,881 units for an average of $540,389 on Tuesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 178,797 valued at $740,510 and previously 180,987 valued at $768,779. In contrast, December closed with an average of 521,319 shares at $1,344,719 for each security traded.

Consolidated Bakeries dipped 15 cents trading of 4,358 units to close at $1.75, Derrimon Trading climbed 9 cents and exchanged 289,096 shares at $2.59, Everything Fresh shed 9 cents in transferring 82,300 units at $1.01. Express Catering lost 25 cents in trading 1,745 units at $6, Fosrich lost 10 cents with 25,951 units changing hands at $4.30, General Accident lost 44 cents in swapping 51,047 units at $6. GWest Corporation fell 4 cents trading 52,801 shares to close at $1.06, Honey Bun ended with 204,528 shares crossing the exchange, after rising 35 cents to close at $8.50, iCreate closed trading of 86,890 units with a gain of 5 cents to end at 80 cents. Iron Rock Insurance declined 20 cents to settle at $3.80 with an exchange of 1,500 shares, ISP Finance climbed 50 cents in exchanging just one share at $29.50, Jamaican Teas dipped 29 cents in trading 801,148 units to end at $7, Key Insurance dipped 10 cents in transferring 2,184 units at $3.80. Lasco Distributors lost 2 cents trading 626,778 shares to close at $3.11, Lasco Financial ended swapping with 4,428 shares, after rising 25 cents to finish at $4.35, Lasco Manufacturing closed 7 cents higher at $4.32, with the trading of 12,506 stock units. Limners and Bards lost 10 cents in exchanging 25,369 units at $2.90, Lumber Depot climbed 12 cents and traded 736,293 shares at $1.65, Mailpac Group closed 2 cents higher at $2.10, with 2,647,671 stock units trading. SSL Venture shed 9 cents in exchanging 6,500 units at $1.25 and Stationery and Office Supplies lost 50 cents in transferring 22,300 shares to close at $10.15.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday with 33 securities changing hands, resulting in 15 securities advancing, 8 declining and 10 remaining unchanged.
The Junior Market Index declined 6.49 points to close at 3,256.34 and the market’s average PE Ratio ended the day at 14.2 earnings for 2019.
Market activity close with an exchange of 3,923,066 units valued at $17,832,838 compared to 2,705,269 units valued at $10,296,689 from 34 companies on Monday.
Trading ended with an average of 118,881 units for an average of $540,389 in contrast to 79,567 units for an average of $302,844 on Monday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to units 180,987 valued at $768,779 and previously 189,635 valued at $800,580. In contrast, December closed with an average of 521,319 shares at $1,344,719 for each security traded.
