Trading drops

Stock prices mostly fell in market activity on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Thursday, with the volume of stocks traded dropping 40 percent with a 58 percent lower value than on Wednesday.
Trading ended with an exchange of 6,738,750 shares for $66,010,050 down sharply from 11,320,379 units at $157,629,727 on Wednesday. The average trade was 120,335 units at $1,178,751, compared to 188,673 shares at $2,627,162 on Wednesday and month to date, an average of 162,714 units at $1,619,716, compared to 164,961 units at $1,643,100 on the previous trading day. June  averaged 281,913 units at $5,309,050.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 1.72 million shares for 25.5 percent of the volume, followed by Transjamaican Highway with 729,653 units for 10.8 percent of trading and Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 705,363 units for 10.5 percent market share.
The All Jamaican Composite Index fell 2,610.73 points to 427,697.82, the JSE Main Index declined 1,907.55 to 374,661.68 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.69 points to close at 89.12.
A total of 56 securities traded compared to 60 on Wednesday, with 13 rising, 18 declining and 25 left unchanged.

Jamaica Stock Exchange popped 55 cents to $17.95 in exchanging 67,304 stocks, Kingston Properties dropped 46 cents to $7.01 after trading 394,190 stock units, Margaritaville rallied $3.75 to close at $21, with 506 units clearing the market. Massy Holdings rose 99 cents to $91 while exchanging two stock units, NCB Financial lost $7.45 to close at $90.05 in an exchange of 111,712 shares, PanJam Investment fell 55 cents to $64.45, with 502 stocks changing hands. Salada Foods dropped 50 cents to end at a 52 weeks’ low of $4.60 with an exchange of 11,370 shares and Supreme Ventures shed 62 cents in closing at $29.38 with an exchange of 196,312 stocks.

Main Market trading climbs on the JSE

Trading picked up on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market on Wednesday, with 60 securities trading compared to 57 on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 43 percent with a 16 percent more value than on the preceding day but ended with more stocks declining as increasing. 
Overall, 11,320,379 shares were traded for $157,629,727 compared to 7,889,885 units at $136,235,111 on Tuesday. Trading averages 188,673 units at $2,627,162, versus 138,419 shares at $2,390,090 on Tuesday and month to date, an average of 164,961 units at $1,643,100, compared to 163,533 units at $1,583,820 on the previous trading day. June closed with an average of 281,913 units at $5,309,050.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 2.50 million shares for 22.1 percent of total volume, followed by Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 2.34 million units for 20.7 percent of the day’s trade, Jamaica Broilers had an exchange of 1.70 million units for 15 percent market share, Transjamaican Highway ended with 1.16 million units for 10.2 percent of the market trades and JMMB Group 7.35% – 2028 with 1.01 million units for 8.9 percent of trading.
The All Jamaican Composite Index fell 816.34 points to 430,308.55, the JSE Main Index lost 599.23 in closing at 376,569.23 and the JSE Financial Index slipped 0.16 points to 89.81. Trading ended, with 21 rising, 25 declining and 14 ending unchanged.

The JSE Main Market bounce

Trading jumped Tuesday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, with a 53 percent increased volume of stocks traded over Monday, as investors exchanged 7,889,885 shares, with 274 percent greater value of $136,235,111 versus 5,149,053 units at $36,443,360 on Monday and pushing the market value higher at the close.
Trading ended with 57 securities against 58 on Monday, with 22 rising, 23 declining and 12 ending unchanged.
The All Jamaican Composite Index rose 3,348.28 points to 431,124.89, the JSE Main Index climbed 2,441.47 points to 377,168.46 and the JSE Financial Index popped 0.72 points to 89.97.
Trading averaged 138,419 units at $2,390,090, compared to 88,777 shares at $628,334 on Monday and month to date, an average of 163,533 units at $1,583,820, compared to 165,057 units at $1,534,877 on the previous trading day. June closed with an average of 281,913 units at $5,309,050.
Jamaica Broilers led trading with 1.91 million shares for 24.2 percent of total volume, followed by Sagicor Select Financial Fund with 1.62 million units for 20.5 percent of the day’s trade and Wigton Windfarm with 1.05 million units for 13.3 percent of market share.

Market activity ended on Friday on the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, with the volume of stocks traded rising 35 percent with 74 percent more value than on Thursday with declining stocks exceeded those rising as 53 securities were exchanged similar to Thursday, with 16 rising, 24 declining and 13 ending unchanged.
The All Jamaican Composite Index shed 4,182.94 points to 429,858.63, the JSE Main Index declined by 3,266.08 points to 375,964.66 and the JSE Financial Index lost 0.45 points to settle at 89.77.

Trading on the Main Market of The Jamaica Stock exchange resulted in declines in the market indices and exchange of 6,516,689 shares valued at $63,546,288 as 53 securities compared to 7,990,603 units valued at $59,730,167 from 58 securities changing hands on Thursday, with the prices of 18 rising 25 declining and ten closing unchanged.
The average trade for the day was 122,956 units at $1,198,987, in contrast to 137,769 units valued at $1,029,830 on Wednesday. The average volume and value for the month to date amounts to 170,350 units valued at $1,563,101 and previously, an average of 173,592 at $1,588,001. In contrast, June closed with an average of 281,913 units at $5,309,050.
The leading trades were Transjamaican Highway with 1,435,524 shares accounting for 22.03 percent, Pulse Investments with 915,682 stock units after controlling 14.05 percent market share and Wigton Windfarm with 799,723 units for 12.27 percent of overall volume.
The All Jamaican Composite Index dropped 1,348.21 points to 434,041.57, the JSE Main Index dipped 1,439.56 points to 379,230.74 and the JSE Financial Index fell 0.12 points to settle at 90.22.

Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market activity ended on Monday, with the volume of stocks traded slipping slightly, with a 65 percent higher value than on Friday as trading ended with 59 securities compared to 55 on Friday, with 17 rising, 23 declining and 19 ending unchanged.
The All Jamaican Composite Index added 982.40 points to 436,625.69, the JSE Main Index rose 1,063.47 to 381,727.51 and the JSE Financial Index popped 0.08 points to 90.74.

A total of 6,753,577 shares were exchanged for $83,525,119 versus 6,917,755 units at $50,532,632 on Friday. Trading averages 114,467 units at $1,415,680 compared to 125,777 shares at $918,775 on Friday and month to date, an average of 174,862 units at $1,638,019, compared to 180,801 units at $1,659,883 on the previous trading day. June closed with an average of 281,913 units at $5,309,050.
Wigton Windfarm led trading with 2.76 million shares for 40.9 percent of total volume, followed by Radio Jamaica with 695,939 units for 10.3 percent of the day’s trade and Transjamaican Highway with 589,239 units for 8.7 percent market share.

First Rock Capital fell 50 cents to $12 after finishing trading of 9,276 units,Guardian Holdings rallied $13.94 to close at $518.95, with eight stocks crossing the market, Jamaica Broilers dropped 85 cents to $28.09 in an exchange of 105,030 units. Jamaica Producers climbed 64 cents after ending at $21.99, with 3,735 stock units clearing the market, Massy Holdings fell $1 in closing at $91 while exchanging 531,093 shares, Mayberry Investments shed 80 cents to end at $10 after 34,787 stock units crossed the exchange. Mayberry Jamaican Equities declined 44 cents to close at $14.55 after exchanging 8,681 units. MPC Caribbean Clean Energy increased by $12.58 to close at $97.58 with the swapping of 29 stocks, NCB Financial shed 99 cents to end at $98 with an exchange of 24,990 shares. Seprod gained $1 in closing at $71 as 6,157 stocks changed hands, Supreme Ventures popped 82 cents to $32.03 after exchanging 98,208 shares and Sygnus Real Estate Finance lost 45 cents in ending at $12.55, with 3,000 units crossing the market.

Trading value plunges on JSE Main Market

Volume traded rose on Friday but with a much lower value than on Thursday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Main Market, with the volume of stocks traded increasing 26 percent, with 42 percent less than on Thursday after rising stocks just edged out those declining.
Overall, 6,917,755 shares were exchanged for just $50,532,632 versus 5,480,966 units at $87,344,674 on Thursday. Trading averaged 125,777 units at $918,775, compared to 99,654 shares at $1,588,085 on Thursday and month to date, an average of 180,801 units at $1,659,883, versus 186,354  units at $1,734,673 on the previous trading day. June closed with an average of 281,913 units at $5,309,050.
Transjamaican Highway led trading with 1.66 million shares for 23.9 percent of total volume, followed by Wigton Windfarm with 1.50 million units for 21.7 percent of the day’s trade and Caribbean Producers with 607,959 units for 8.8 percent of market share.
The All Jamaican Composite Index lost 768.00 points to 435,643.29, the JSE Main Index lost 652.21 points to close at 380,664.04 and the JSE Financial Index increased 0.02 points to 90.66.
Trading ended with 55 securities, similar to Thursday, with 20 rising, 19 declining and 16 ending unchanged.

Mayberry Investments rose 35 cents to $10.80 with 234,085 stocks changing hands, Mayberry Jamaican Equities gained 59 cents to close at $14.99 in exchanging 59,671 units, MPC Caribbean Clean Energy climbed $5 to end at $85 with an exchange of 1,000 stocks. Palace Amusement advanced $60 in closing at $880 in switching ownership of 157 units, Proven Investments dropped $1 to $34 after finishing the trading of 4,258 shares, Seprod shed $1 to end at $70 in trading 15,960 stock units and Sygnus Credit Investments popped 39 cents in closing at $14 in an exchange of 8,041 stocks.
