The junior market closed at a new record at the end of trading on Monday with the market index climbing 13.56 points to close with 2,495.22 points, just above the all-time record of 2,482.44, reached last Monday and now puts the gain for the year to date, to 39 percent.
Trading was slow during the day and ended with a fraction of the volume and value traded on Friday. The volume of stocks traded that fell sharply on Friday, suffered even further decline on Monday with the volume dropping of 78 percent from Friday’s levels and ending with just 143,487 units changing hands, valued at a mere $754,871, down 30 percent from $1,074,606 on Friday.
