Rising & falling Junior Market stocks even

Rising stocks equaled declining ones and helped move the market index of Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market up at the close on Thursday after trading 32 percent fewer shares with a 17 percent fall in value compared to Wednesday.
Trading ended with shares of 32 companies changing hands compared to 38 on Wednesday with an equal number of 15 stocks rising and declining, with two remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 28.32 points to settle at 2,487.75 after trading over the 2,500 points mark in the morning session. The average PE Ratio ended at 12.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading closed with 4,782,100 shares for $19,328,148 versus 7,027,159 units at  $23,247,610 on Wednesday. Fontana led trading with 31.4 percent of the volume in exchanging 1.50 million shares, followed by Jamaican Teas with 21.8 percent for 1.04 million units and Mailpac Group with 18.3 percent after trading 875,012 shares.
Trading averaged 149,441 units at $604,005 in contrast to 184,925 at $611,779 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade is 192,183 units at $570,657, compared to 194,462 units at $568,878 on Wednesday. October averaged 230,868 units at $535,509.

At the close of the market, Access Financial rose $1.35 to $21.90, trading 1,310 shares, AMG Packaging picked up 1 cent in closing at $1.60 trading 1,633 units, Blue Power lost 25 cents to end at $3.25 after exchanging 9,600 stock units. Cargo Handlers finished at $6.36, with gains of 6 cents as investors swapped 28,838 shares, Caribbean Assurance Brokers closed 15 cents higher at $1.90, in exchanging 2,906 units, Caribbean Cream gained 4 cents to settle at $3.85 trading 10,100 stock units. Junior Market tumbles on Wednesday

The market index rose to more than 2,556 points within an hour of trading on Wednesday but selling drove the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange down at the close, with the market index dropping nearly 100 points from the day’s peak to finish with a loss for the day of 70.49 points to settle at 2,459.43.
Trading ended with more stocks declining than rising after an exchange of 33 percent more shares than on Tuesday. The market closed with 38 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 15 stocks rising, 17 declining and six remaining unchanged. The average PE Ratio ends at 12.5 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market saw an exchange of 7,027,159 shares for  $23,247,610 compared to 5,272,918 units at $15,658,293 on Tuesday.
Fosrich led trading with 34.2 percent of total volume with an exchange of 2.4 million shares, followed by  Jamaican Teas with 13.9 percent after a transfer of 976,355 units and Tropical Battery with 9.6 percent market share for 675,760 stock units.
Trading ended with an average of 184,925 units at $611,779 compared to 159,785 at $474,494 on Tuesday. The month to date average trade is 194,462 units at $568,878, compared to 195,107

Junior Market slips up

Early morning trading pushed the index above Monday’s close for the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market on Tuesday to 2,556.57, but the market failed to hold on to the gains and closed the day with a modest fall after more stocks declined than rose, with 12 percent fewer shares traded than Monday.
Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands compared to 37 on Monday and closed with the prices of 11 stocks rising, 14 declining and eight remaining unchanged. Dolphin Cove closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $5.50.
At the close, the Junior Market Index shed 11.88 points to settle at 2,529.92. The average PE Ratio ended at 12.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading ended with an exchange of 5,272,918 shares for $15,658,293 compared to 5,999,938 units at $21,980,840 on Monday. Lasco Financial led trading with 38.7 percent of total volume for 2.04 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 20.3 percent after an exchange of 1.07 million and Jamaican Teas with 9.1 percent market share for 482,354 units.

Trading ended with 37 companies changing hands compared to 31 on Friday and concluded with the prices of 17 stocks rising, prices of 16 falling and four with prices ending unchanged.

Modest gains eked out by Junior Market

Junior Market stocks rose to 2,580.21 within an hour of trading opening at the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Friday, but the market retreated and closed with a modest gain after more stocks declined than rose as investors traded 44 percent more shares than on Thursday.
The Market Index gained 4.03 points to settle at 2,537.29 and the market closed with an average PE Ratio of 12.6 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Trading closed with 31 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Thursday, ending with the prices of nine stocks rising, 13 declining and nine remaining unchanged.

Lasco Manufacturing commands Junior Market

Lasco Manufacturing dominated Junior Market trading on Wednesday.

Fresh from a sharp 41 percent jump in second-quarter profit, Lasco Manufacturing dominated trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Wednesday with almost 88 percent of the day’s volume leading to an exchange of 135 percent more shares worth 321 percent in value than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 36 securities changing hands compared to 30 on Tuesday and closed with the prices of 16 stocks rising, 14 declining and six ending unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 23.48 points to settle at 2,518.62. The average PE Ratio ended at 11.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 25,127,529 shares for $95,287,962 compared to 10,660,690 units at $22,630,394 on Tuesday. Lasco Manufacturing dominated trading with 87.8 percent of total volume for 22.07 million shares, followed by Mailpac Group with 3.1 percent accounting for 771,442 units and Jamaican Teas with 318,824 units for 1.3 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 697,987 units at $2,646,888 in contrast to 355,356 at $754,346 on Tuesday. The average trade month to date amounts to 232,182 units at $657,223, compared to 159,902 units at $348,482 on Tuesday. Trading in October resulted in an average of 230,868 units at $535,509.

Mailpac dominates Junior Market trading

Mailpac traded a big block of shares accounting for just under 90 percent of Tuesday’s trade as investors sent the stock higher following the release of the company’s third-quarter financials recording a 58 percent increase in revenues for the third quarter and profit more than doubling to $149 million.

Mailpac dominated trading on Tuesday with 88% of the total market volume.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed higher with more stocks rising than falling after 178 percent more shares traded than on Monday. Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands compared to 35 on Monday and ended with the prices of 10 stocks rising, 15 declining and five remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 11.71 points to 2,542.10 and the average PE Ratio ended at 11 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 10,660,690 shares for $22,630,394 compared to 3,834,464 units at $9,292,519 on Monday. Mailpac Group commanded trading with 88 percent of total volume with the transfer of 9.38 million shares, followed by Tropical Battery with 2.7 percent of the day’s trade or 285,848 units and AMG Packaging with 1.8 percent or 195,000 shares.

Trading picks upon Junior Market

Stocks slipped moderately on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange at the close on Monday, with more stocks falling than rising, with slightly more shares changing hands than on Friday.
Trading ended with 35 securities changing hands, the same as on Friday and closed with the prices of 13 rising, 15 declining and seven remained unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index fell 8.64 points to 2,530.39. The average PE Ratio ends at 11.4 based on ICInsider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
