Stocks surged in trading on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange, with the Market Index jumping a solid 86.80 points to 3,978.95 at the close on Wednesday after a 318 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded and a  401 percent increase in value compared to Tuesday following trading in 42 securities versus 41 on Tuesday and ended with 25 rising, 13 declining and four closing unchanged.
Investors traded 18,836,649 shares for $60,904,034, up sharply from 4,506,827 units at $12,167,838 on Tuesday.
Trading averaged 448,492 shares at $1,450,096, up from a mere 109,923 units at $296,777 on Tuesday, with the month to date averaging 259,968 units at $711,335 compared to 250,933 stock units at $676,433 on the previous day. October closed with an average of 264,407 units at $832,036.
Spur Tree Spices led trading with 9.75 million shares for 51.8 percent of total volume, followed by ONE on ONE Educational with 4.20 million units for 22.3 percent of the day’s trade and MFS Capital Partners with 1.72 million units for 9.1 percent market share.

Junior Market jumps

A 12 percent fall in the volume of stocks traded, following an 11 percent decline in the value of funds entering the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Tuesday, but the declined in trading failed to stop the market from rising at the close, with trading in 41 securities against 42 on Monday, ending with 18 rising, 14 declining and 9 closing unchanged.
A total of 4,506,827 shares valued at $12,167,838 were traded compared to 5,099,286 units at $13,601,067 on Monday.

Trading jumped on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Monday with an 83 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded, valued at 60 percent more than on Friday with trading in 42 securities versus 41 on Friday to end with ten rising, 22 declining and ten closing unchanged.
A total of 5,099,286 shares were traded for $13,601,067 compared with 2,791,802 units at $8,477,949 on Friday.

Big recovery for Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange clawed back a fair bit of the losses incurred since last week following the announcement of Regency Petroleum IPO, with the Index rallying 82.24 points to settle at 3,880.06 on Thursday, following a 64 percent fall in the volume of stocks traded, after a 29 percent decline in the value compared to Wednesday with 41 securities trading the same as on Wednesday and ended with 19 rising, 18 declining and four closing unchanged.
A total of 5,141,385 shares were traded for $17,482,988, down from 14,142,422 units at $24,762,456 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 125,400 shares at $426,414 compared with 344,949 units at $603,962 on Wednesday. Trading for the month to date, averages 275,458 stock units at $741,310 against 283,956 shares at $759,143 on the previous day. October closed with an average of 264,407 units at $832,036.

Trading picked up a bit on the Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange on Monday, with a 16 percent rise in the volume of stocks traded after 12 percent more funds passed through the market than on Friday following trading in 43 securities up from 42 on Friday and ended with 19 rising, 17 declining and seven closing unchanged.

New IPO pressures Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange suffered more declines on Friday, ahead of the opening of the Regency Petroleum IPO on Monday, with the Market Index falling 61.65 points to 3,871.96, some 127 points below the close on Wednesday, ahead of the release of the IPO information.
The recent decline is mild compared with the fall after the announcement of the Trading climbs on the JSE US dollar market Dolla IPO, of just over 330 points, with the market slipping from 4,357.81 points to 4,027.35 the day before the issue opened and in the case of One on One, the market dropped 327 points. In both cases, prices started rebounding strongly on the day the issue opened and continued for some time after.
In Friday’s trading, the volume of stocks exchanged declined 75 percent, with the value down 81 percent from activity on Thursday, with 42 securities trading down from 46 on Thursday and ended with 17 rising,17 declining and eight closing unchanged and Blue Power closed at a 52 weeks’ low of $2.67.
A total of 8,983,578 shares were exchanged for $21,220,946, down sharply from 35,681,537 units at $109,696,406 on Thursday. Trading averaged 213,895 shares at $505,261 compared with 775,686 units at $2,384,704 on Thursday. The month to date averaged 290,620 units at $799,120 compared with 296,406 stock units at $821,279 on the previous day. October closed with an average of 264,407 units at $832,036.

Falling Junior Market stocks clobber gains

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange dropped again on Thursday, with prices of 29 stocks falling and only eight rising, following the issue of the prospectus for Regency Petroleum today, with the volume of stocks traded rising 355 percent with the value surging 438 percent over Wednesday’s trades and ending with 46 securities trading up from 40 on Wednesday and ending with only nine trading unchanged.
A total of 35,681,537 shares were traded for $109,696,406 up from 7,838,155 units at $20,403,040 on Wednesday.
Trading averaged 775,686 shares at $2,384,704 compared to 195,954 units at $510,076 on Wednesday, with the month to date averaging 296,406 units at $821,279 compared with 253,261 stock units at $680,540 on the previous day. October closed with an average of 264,407 units at $832,036.
Dolla Financial led trading with 21.01 million shares 58.9 percent of total volume, followed by ONE on ONE Educational with 2.86 million units for 8 percent of trading, JFP Ltd was next with 2.15 million units for 6 percent market share, followed by KLE Group with 2.15 million units for 6 percent of the market outcome and EduFocal with 1.44 million units for 4 percent market share.
At the close, the Junior Market Index shed 38.65 points to settle at 3,933.61.

Indies Pharma dipped 11 cents to end at $2.74, with 7,779 units clearing the market, Iron Rock Insurance rallied 30 cents to close at $2.60 after an exchange of 363 stocks, ISP Finance gained $3.49 to $18.50 after a transfer of a mere five stock units. JFP Ltd shed 12 cents to $1.45 with investors transferring 2,152,239 shares, KLE Group advanced 34 cents in closing at $2 in trading 2,149,248 stocks, Knutsford Express fell 80 cents to close at $8, with just 180 shares changing hands.
