Shareholders of (KPREIT) will see the number of shares owned doubling when they voted to split the existing shares into two units at the Annual General Meeting scheduled for May 16, 2017.
The company’s Board of Directors took the decision on March 31, to recommend to the shareholders of that each of the 500,000,000 ordinary shares in the capital of the Company be subdivided into two ordinary shares each thereby making a total share capital 1,000,000,000 ordinary shares.
On March 6, the directors reported to the Jamaica Stock Exchange that they would be recommending a stock split to shareholders. The stock traded before the announcement at $11 moved up after to a record $16.35 on March 16 and remain sat that price on April 3.
The directors at the same meeting approved a dividend to shareholders on record as at April 18 in the amount of US$0.00124 per unit. The payment date is May 9 and the X-dividend date is April 12.

CWJ old OffCable & Wireless (C&W) is the clear winner in the number portability so far a 91 percent switching to Cable & Wireless according to data provided by C&W CEO Gary Sinclair on Thursday afternoon.
With only a few days since the sector started to allow the swapping of numbers in response to an IC Insider query Sinclair said “the numbers are overwhelmingly in our favour. Latest count 543 ported to us from Digicel and 52 ported out to Digicel from us”. Up to press time, Digicel representative who was contacted has not yet submitted their numbers.
Digicel off prtThe changes although more than the 200 the Minister responsible for telecommunication disclosed earlier this week, represent only a small fraction of the total number of more than 2 million phone customers in the island. Number portability has been long in coming and was promised to be in effect from last year but was put back based on request from Cable & Wireless.
While the change will provide telecom users with more flexibility it could be problems for some users in determining which numbers belong to which carrier with different pricing structure in place by the two dominant carriers.

72% Customer Satisfaction for CWJ

Cable & Wireless Jamaica (CWJ) trading as Lime, ranked highest in customer satisfaction among all of Jamaica’s utility providers, according to a survey by the Office of Utilities Regulation, OUR CWJ said in a release recently.
CWJ old 1According to the report the Regulator said 72% of respondents reported that they were satisfied doing business with Cable & Wireless.
Among its telecommunications rivals Digicel, Flow and other utility providers, customers gave the company, the highest marks for product quality and accurate billing and placed them on top for customer care that makes them feel valued and respected.
“We have consistently put customers at the center of our strategic commercial decision-making and these objective survey results are the just reward for those efforts.” Garfield Sinclair Cable & Wireless CEO stated in response to this latest round positive public perception.
Cable & Wireless also received coveted recognition for being the only Telecommunications provider to register a double-digit increase in service quality over the 12-month review period.
