Recovery for Junior Market

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Thursday, with the market rising after more stocks rose than declined as investors traded 24 percent fewer shares with a value that was 31 percent lower than on Wednesday.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 30 on Wednesday and concluded with the prices of 18 stocks rising, nine stocks declining and the prices of four remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced by 18.79 points to settle at 2,539.27, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,285,358 shares for $2,896,174 compared to 1,689,114  units at $4,189,210 on Wednesday.
Lumber Depot led trading with 347,991 shares for 27.1 percent of total volume followed by   Everything Fresh with 237,357 units for 18.5 percent of the day’s trade and Lasco Distributors with 107,689 units for 8.4 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 41,463 units at $93,425 in contrast to 56,304 at $139,640 on Wednesday. For the month to date, the average trade resulted in an exchange of 122,004 units at $347,515, in comparison to 128,736 units at $368,689 on Wednesday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.

At the close of the market, Access Financial climbed $3.50 to end at $23.50 with 43 shares changing hands, AMG Packaging gained 1 cent to settle at $1.71 with 4,318 stock units clearing the market, Blue Power advanced 4 cents to finish at $3.10 with 9,055 units traded. Caribbean Assurance Brokers rose 30 cents to settle at $2.23 with investors transferring 12,714 shares, Caribbean Cream shed 92 cents to close at $4.12 in an exchange of 100 shares, Caribbean Flavours climbed 49 cents to end at $14.99 in trading 11,274 stock units. Elite Diagnostic advanced 25 cents to settle at $3.35, with 3,000 shares changing hands, Everything Fresh fell 10 cents to finish at 61 cents in the exchange of  237,357 shares, Express Catering lost 33 cents to close at $3.52, with investors transferring 25,584 stock units. Fontana lost 18 cents to settle at $4.81 in trading 92,479 units, Fosrich ended 5 cents lower at $3.80 with 14,108 stock units clearing the market, General Accident jumped $1.07 to close at $7 with 33,954 shares changing hands. Honey Bun gained 9 cents to close at $5.10 in the exchange of 105 units, iCreate rose 2 cents to end at 63 cents with 22,389 stock units traded, Indies Pharma advanced by 13 cents to finish at $2.80 with investors transferring 8,080 stock units. Iron Rock Insurance declined by 30 cents to end at $2.80 after exchanging 871 stocks, Jamaican Teas closed 9 cents higher at $4.69 with 74,744 shares traded, Jetcon Corporation gained 1 cent, with investors transferred 24,112 stock units to close at 82 cents. Lasco Distributors advanced 1 cent to settle at $3.26 with 107,689 stocks changing hands, Lasco Financial gained 9 cents to finish at $2.29 with 13,774 stock units clearing the market, Lasco Manufacturing slipped 1 cent to $3.89 with 11,000 shares traded. Limners and Bards advanced 9 cents to settle at $2.69 with investors switching ownership of 46,963 stock units, Lumber Depot declined by 1 cent in exchanging 347,991 shares to end at 97 cents, Mailpac Group rose 2 cents to close at $2 with investors transferring 66,860 stock units. Medical Disposables dropped 4 cents to finish at $4.95 with 10,939 units traded and SSL Venture rose 11 cents to end at 86 cents with 10,000 shares crossing the exchange.
In the preference segment of the market, CAC 2000 9.5% preference shares climbed 25 cents to settle at $1.20 with 4,900 stocks changing hands.

Junior Market drops on Wednesday

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on  Wednesday, declined after more stocks fell than rose, with investors trading 45 percent more shares than on Tuesday.
Trading ended with 30 securities changing hands compared to 27  on Tuesday and ended with the prices of eight stocks rising, 15 stocks declining and seven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index lost 21.63 points to settle at 2,520.48, with the average PE Ratio of the market ending at 10.2 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 1,689,114 shares for $4,189,210  compared to 3,067,663 units at $10,483,436 on Tuesday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 517,864 shares for 30.7 percent of total volume, followed by Caribbean Producers with 204,759 units for 12.1 percent of the day’s trade and Derrimon Trading with 153,113 units for 9.1 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 56,304 units at $139,640 in contrast to 113,617 at $388,275 on Tuesday. The average trade for the month to date resulted in an exchange of 128,736 units at $368,689, in comparison to 135,090 units at $388,781 on Tuesday. Trading in July resulted in 248,153 units at $668,727 changing hands.

Cargo Handlers rose 77 cents to settle at $7.30 in trading 120 stock units, Caribbean Assurance Brokers advanced 1 cent to close at $1.93 with an exchange of 41,233 stocks, Caribbean Cream climbed 54 cents to $5.04 with investors transferring  60,726 units. Caribbean Producers declined by 2 cents to end at $2.43 with 204,759 stock units traded, Elite Diagnostic finished at $3.10 after losing 2 cents and clearing the market with 2,500 shares, Everything Fresh gained 3 cents to settle at 71 cents with 1,000 units changing hands. Fontana closed 4 cents higher at $4.99 in an exchange of 47,715 stock units, General Accident fell 57 cents to $5.93, with 67,329  stocks traded, Honey Bun lost 8 cents to end at $5.01 after exchanging 3,918 shares. iCreate lost 4 cents to finish at 61 cents with investors transferring 115,000 stock units, Iron Rock Insurance fell 10 cents to $3.10 with 100 stocks traded, Jamaican Teas dropped 25 cents to end at $4.60 after exchanging 48,256 shares. Jetcon Corporation rose 1 cent to end at 81 cents, with 117,493 units passing through the market, Knutsford Express slipped 9 cents to close at $6.81 with an exchange of 300 units, Lasco Distributors gained 18 cents to end at $3.25 with 83,878 units changing hands. Junior market in big points drop

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Index dived 54.19 points to settle at 2,540.11 when the trading closed on Monday, after falling stocks, overwhelmed those rising and investors traded 38 percent more shares with four percent less value than on Friday.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 27 on Friday, with the prices of seven stocks rising, the prices of 19 declining and eight remaining unchanged.  At the close of the market, the average PE Ratio of the market ended
at 10.3 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 4,784,350 shares for $13,556,616  compared to 3,470,609 units at $14,092,682 on Friday.Lasco Distributors led trading with 1.53 million shares for 31.9 percent of total volume followed by Everything Fresh with 747,741 units for 15.6 percent of the day’s trade and iCreate with 610,064 units for 12.8 percent market share.
Trading ended with an average of 140,716 units at $398,724 in contrast to 128,541 at $521,951 on Friday.  For the month to date, there was an average trade of 136,907 units at $388,825, in comparison to 136,446 units at $387,627 on Friday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727.

Advancing and declining Junior Market stocks were evenly matched at the close of trading on Wednesday, after an exchange of 82 percent fewer stocks than Tuesday’s heightened level.
Trading ended with 31 securities changing hands compared to 33 on Tuesday and ended with the prices of 12 stocks rising, the prices of 13 stocks declining and six ended, with the prices remaining unchanged.

Heavy Junior Market trading

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange closed on Tuesday, with the market slipping slightly after rising stocks just edged out declining ones, with after investors traded more than three times more shares and four and a half times the value than on Monday.

Mailpac dominated trading on Tuesday after the company posted 33% revenues rise.

Trading ended with 33 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Monday and ended with the prices of 14 stocks rising, the prices of 13 stocks declining and six remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index shed 5.95 points to settle at 2,603.41, the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.44 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 10,650,793 shares for $25,292,615 compared to 3,157,585 units at $9,033,381 on Monday. Mailpac Group led trading with 4.34 million shares for 40.7 percent of total volume, after the company posted second-quarter results showing a 33 percent rise in revenues and 25 percent rise in profits. Lasco Financial followed with 3.43 million units for 32.2 percent of the day’s trade and Lasco Distributors with 779,939 units for 7.3 percent market share.

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Monday, with the market index inched higher after more stocks fell than rose, with investors exchanging 20 percent more shares than on Friday.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands compared to 31 securities on Friday and ended with the prices of nine stocks rising, twelve declining and eleven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index carved out a gain of just 3.21 points to settle at 2,609.36. The average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.7 based on IC Insider.com forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 3,157,585 shares for $9,033,381  compared to 2,637,466 units at $9,741,864 on Friday.
Lumber Depot led trading with 806,750 shares for 25.5 percent of total volume, followed by MailPac Group with 543,553 units for 17.2 percent of the day’s trade and Fontana with 518,938 units for 16.4 percent market share.

Junior Market continues to inch higher

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Tuesday, with the market index advancing as more stocks rose than declined after investors traded a mere 16 percent of Monday’s volume at 22 percent of the value.
Trading ended with 34 securities changing hands compared to 32 on Monday and ended with the prices of 13 stocks rising. Prices of 10 stocks declined and prices of 11 remained unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index advanced by 15.97 points to settle at 2,619.05, and the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.8 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
Market activities concluded with an exchange of 1,625,055 shares for $5,194,150  compared to 9,920,174 shares for $23,681,230 on Monday.

Limners and Bards climbed 21 cents to finish at $2.88 with investors transferring 27,316 stocks, Lumber Depot gained 1 cent to close at $1.07 with 147,000 shares changing hands, Mailpac Group declined 2 cents to end at $2.12 with an exchange of 303,405 stock units. Medical Disposables climbed 25 cents to close at $5.30 with 3,410 shares traded and tTech dipped 80 cents to close at $6.50, with 22,081 shares crossing the exchange.

Junior Market starts August off with gains

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Monday, with the market rising after more stocks rose than declined after investors traded more than three times the shares, exchanged on Friday.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands, similar to the activity on Friday and ended with the prices of 13 stocks rising, 12 declining and the prices of seven remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rose 13.05 points to settle at 2,603.08, and the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.7 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 9,920,174 shares for $23,681,230 compared to 2,937,362 units at $11,279,065 on Friday.
Derrimon Trading led trading with 8.40 million shares for 84.7 percent of total volume, followed by Mailpac Group with 538,932 units for 5.4 percent of the day’s trade and Lasco Distributors with 199,213 units for 2 percent market share.
An average of 309,774 units at $740,038 in contrast to an average of 91,793 at $352,471 on Friday. Trading in July resulted in an average of 248,153 units at $668,727 trading.

Junior Market closes in on 2,600 mark

The Junior Market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange ended trading on Friday, with the market rising after slightly more stocks rose than declined, after investors exchanged 83 percent more shares, valued 185 higher than on Thursday.
Trading ended with 32 securities changing hands, similar to Thursday and ended with the prices of 10 stocks rising, eight declining and 14 with prices remaining unchanged. At the close, the Junior Market Index increased 25.76 points to settle at 2,590.03, and the average PE Ratio of the market ended at 10.7 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with an exchange of 2,937,362 shares for $11,279,065 compared to 1,607,258 units at $3,954,220 on Thursday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 850,762 shares for 29 percent of total volume followed by Limners and Bards with 344,149 units for 11.7 percent of the day’s trade and Caribbean Cream with 306,317 units for 10.4 percent market share.
An average of 91,793 units changed hands at $352,471, in contrast to an average of 50,227 shares at $123,569 on Thursday. An average of 249,987 units at $688,727 for the month to date, in comparison to 257,292 units at $701,029. Trading in June resulted in an average of 245,049 units at $689,955 trading.

Big quiet moves for some Junior Market stocks

The Junior Market trading is quietly throwing up some big winners, but few are taking note, with the market experiences low activity. In Monday’s trading, tTech climbed 11 percent on good volume, with the bid closing in line with the last traded price of  $6.67, the highest price since October last year and is up 41 percent since early July when it traded as low as $4.70.

tTech stock gained 41% in July

tTech is not the only stock making big moves recently.  General Accident gained 67 percent since May 2, Caribbean Cream is up 62 percent since the start of this month when the stock traded at $2.46. Indies rose 25 percent since July 3 and Limners and Bards delivered a 31 percent increase since June 8.
Trading closed on Monday, with 32 securities changing hands, similar to Friday, ending with the prices of 12 stocks rising, 14 stocks declining and six with prices remaining unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index declined by a mere 3.26 points to 2552.21, and the average PE Ratio of the Junior Market ended at 10.7 based on IC Insider.com’s forecast of 2020-21 earnings.
The market closed with trading volume surging 296 percent and the value of stocks traded climbing 183 over Friday’s levels and ending with an exchange of 5,577,292 shares at $13,949,566 compared to 1,406,824 units amounting to $4,933,149 on Friday.
Mailpac Group led trading with 2.84 million shares for 51 percent of total volume followed by Limners and Bards with 716,517 units for 12.8 percent of the day’s trade and iCreate with 345,873 units for 6.2 percent market share.
An average of 174,290 units at $435,924 in contrast to an average of 43,963 at $154,161 on Friday. An average of 279,101 units traded at $746,924 for the month to date, in contrast to 285,048 units at $782,092 on Friday. Trading in June resulted in an average of 245,049 units at $689,955 trading.
