Six Junior Market stocks traded at record highs on Friday helping to push the market Index up 95.60 points to a record close of 4,168.16, with the volume of stocks traded rising just 24 percent and the value jumping 43 percent higher than the close on Thursday and pushed the gains for the year to date to 21.8 percent.

Market activity led to 40 securities trading, similar to Thursday and ended with 22 rising, 15 declining and three, closing unchanged. Stocks trading at 52 weeks’ highs are Future Energy Source, Derrimon Trading, Main Event, Lumber Depot, Spur Tree Spices and Tropical Battery but Mailpac ended at 52 weeks’ low.

Overall, 14,875,591 shares traded for $77,333,392 compared to 12,011,698 units at $54,018,344 on the Thursday Future Energy Source led trading with 4.7 million shares for 31.6 percent of total volume followed by Derrimon Trading with 1.9 million units for 12.8 percent of the day’s trade, Tropical Battery with 1.72 million units for 11.6 percent market share and Lumber Depot ended with 1.48 million units changing hands for 9.9 percent market share.

New record close for Junior Market

The Junior Market Index gained 49.51 points to end at a record closing high of 4,072.56, after posting a record high of 4,098.56 shortly after the market opened on Thursday and bettering the previous record close of 4,058.99 on February 14 and ended with the volume of stocks traded declining 77 percent from the elevated level on Tuesday and the value falling by 82 percent from Tuesday.

Junior Market reclaims 4,000 mark

Trading closed on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising after trading 265 percent more and the value surging 493 percent higher than Monday with Future Energy Source trading 43 million shares with the price hitting a record $6.40 and valuing the trades at $267 at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.

Big Fesco trade pushed the price to a record high of $6.40.

All 43 securities traded up from 41 on Monday and ended with 20 rising, 12 declining and 11 closing unchanged. Trading ends with three stocks closing at 52 weeks’ high.
The Junior Market Index popped 32.82 points to end at 4,023.05.

Tropical Battery tops ICTOP10

Tropical Battery surges to sit on top of the ICTOP10 Junior Market listing with the company seemingly poised to earn $280 million with earnings per share of 22 cents, more than five times 2021 full year earnings, with potential for the price to deliver gains of 153 percent as the stock helped in creating a complete overhaul of the TOP 3 stocks at the end of the week.

Tropical Battery heads the Junior Market ICTOP10.

In the past week, the Junior Market came back to life and clawed back much of the 226 points lost in the previous week while the Main Market continues to consolidate around the 440,000 points level, on the All Jamaica Composite Index.
The focus this past week was on the FJP Limited IPO that opened on Monday at $1 per share and closed on Tuesday, having been oversubscribed. As the FJP offer closed, up came the third new offer for the Junior Market in 2022, with the release of the EducFocal prospectus to raise $130 million at $1 per share, with the issue opening on March 3 and expected to close shortly thereafter.
In TOP10 developments this week, returning to the Junior Market are Tropical Battery with the price slipping from last week’s $1.79 to $1.74 and Medical Disposables after the price slipped from $7.27 to $6.60 this week. Leaving the TOP10 this week are iCreate and Cargo Handlers. The Main Market had one change, with Carreras moving out after hitting $8.90 and Jamaica Broilers coming in to replace it.
During the week, the Junior Market TOP10 listed Cargo Handlers surged 27 percent to $8.89, iCreate rose 28 percent to close at 77 cents, while Elite Diagnostic and Lasco Distributors both lost 9 percent to end at $3.30 and $3.63 respectively and Lasco Financial lost 8 percent to close at $3.30.
In the Main Market, Carreras rose 8 percent to close of $8.90 while Sagicor Group added 6 percent to end at $57, but 138 Student Living lost 5 percent to end at $5.20.
The Junior Market potential gain for the TOP 10 Junior Market stocks has moved up from 104 percent to 113 percent, much lower than the Main Market at 125 percent. The top three stocks in the Junior Market are Tropical Battery followed by Elite Diagnostic and Lasco Distributors to gain between 120 and 153 percent, compared to 109 and 129 percent, previously.
The potential gains for Main Market stocks moved from 122 percent last week to this weeks’ 125 percent, with the top three being Guardian Holdings followed by JMMB Group and Sygnus Credit Investments all projected to gain between 161 and 180 percent versus 165 and 185 percent last week.
The average PE for Junior Market has moved to 19.4 based on ICInsider.com’s 2021-22 earnings and is ahead of the JSE Main Market at 16.7. Running streak broken for Junior Market

The four consecutive days of gains in the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market ended Thursday, with a modest fall in the market index after the volume of stocks traded jumped 192 percent and the value climbed 160 percent higher than Wednesday.
The Junior Market Index shed 18.33 points to settle at 3,965.57 after 40 securities traded, down from 43 on Wednesday, with 15 rising, 19 declining and six, closing unchanged. More recovery for Junior Market

Trading closed the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market on Wednesday, with the market index recording its fifth straight day of gains following last week’s 226 points fall in three days after hitting an all-time record high and ended on Wednesday after the volume of stocks traded declining 63 percent below Tuesday’s level less as the value of stock traded dropped 47 percent and leaving stocks rising and falling almost sharing the honours equally.
The number of securities trading remains elevated as all 43 participated in market activity as was the case on Tuesday and ended with 15 rising, 16 declining and 12, closing unchanged. At the close, the Junior Market Index increased 43.38 points to settle at 3,983.90.

Junior Market squeezes out gains on Tuesday

Trading closed on Tuesday, with the volume of stocks traded rising 60 percent and the value increased 30 percent higher than on Monday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.
All listed 43 securities traded similar to Monday and ended with 18 rising, 15 declining and 10, closing unchanged.
At the close, the Junior Market Index rallied 14.24 points to settle at 3,940.52.

Overall, 12,058,347 shares traded for $37,852,476 up from 7,558,016 units at $29,196,251 on Monday. Derrimon Trading led trading with 4.67 million shares for 38.8 percent of total volume followed by Tropical Battery with 2.03 million units for 16.8 percent of the day’s trade and Lumber Depot with 1.33 million units for 11.1 percent market share.
Trading averaged 280,427 shares at $880,290 in contrast to 175,768 shares at $678,983 on Monday and month to date, averaging 399,658 units at $1,505,090, compared to 407,796 units at $1,547,735 on the previous trading day. January closed with an average of 319,395 units at $1,181,136.

Medical Disposables dropped 70 cents in closing at $6.65 with 12,698 units clearing the market, Paramount Trading declined 10 cents to close at $1.95, with 202,683 shares changing hands, Stationery and Office Supplies lost 10 cents in ending at $7.40 after 21,358 stocks passed through the market and tTech rose 35 cents in closing at $4.35 after exchanging 1,107 stock units.

Strong rebound for Junior Market

The Junior Market Index held on to a strong 51.94 points gain on Monday to close at 3,926.28 after the market opened up more than 73 points in early trading, the market closed, with the volume of stocks traded declining 63 percent and the value dropped by 50 percent lower than on Friday at the close of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Junior Market.
All 43 listed securities traded, up from 38 on Friday ending with 17 rising, 20 declining and six, closing unchanged.

KLE Group dropped 15 cents to close at $2.55 with an exchange of 2,600 shares, Main Event climbed 10 cents to $5.10, with 5,264 units clearing the market, Paramount Trading rallied 10 cents in closing at $2.05 after exchanging 42,100 stock units. Spur Tree Spices advanced 11 cents to $3.16 in an exchange of 321,729 stocks, SSL Venture declined 30 cents in closing at $1.60 in trading 2,921 shares, Stationery and Office Supplies popped 20 cents to end at $7.50 trading 1,394 stocks and tTech shed 35 cents to $4 closed with the trading of 2,045 units.
